Select Exterminating

Select Exterminating is highly recommended! I am a new home owner and I purchased the year/quarterly service because my tenants were complaining about spiders and centipedes. Once they serviced me, I have yet to see any of these insects ever again! The call center are very helpful in working with your schedule. HOWEVER if you ever get an exterminator by the name of DEVIN, have them send you someone else. DEVIN is extremely unprofessional and belligerent. I scheduled a service a few days ago and was told the exterminator is scheduled to come between the hours of 12-4. By the time 3pm rolled around, I decides to call and see when he would come service me. DEVIN calls me and states he is in Staten Island and he will unfortunately have to come after 4pm, unless I can reschedule. I told him it is quite alright to come later because today is my only day off. I informed him to please call me at least 30 minutes prior to arrival because I do not live nearby. I also informed the representative, who stated he will inform the exterminator. About an hour later DEVIN calls me and states he is outside. I said "why didn't you call me prior?" "I do not reside there, please give me 20 minutes to make my way over there" DEVIN says "ok" I get to the location about 27 minutes due to traffic. DEVIN states he is leaving, he did the top floor and has school and has to go. I asked why didn't you call me and tell me before wasting my time to come all the way here. He says it is not his fault, he waited too long and now he is leaving. He was very nasty and unprofessional on the phone. Initially you were suppose to come between 12-4p, came late, was very upset and hung up on me when I said I couldn’t reschedule, never completed the job, wasted my time and spoke about another obligation and was rude to top it off!!! After I accommodated him, he couldn’t accommodate me and was very nasty. Luckily for me, Ms. Lizette the supervisor gave me a free service for the inconvenience and sent someone who was excellent to complete the subpar work that DEVIN left. My whole day was over. I have never been so upset in my life. If you are choosing to go with Select Exterminators, request that they do not give you DEVIN and make sure to ask for the name of the exterminator. Good Luck!

The owner of Select Exterminating, Lloyd, thoroughly inspected my house, and the outside of my next door neighbor's house for the purpose of seeing what treatment was being used there. (our houses are within 6 feet of each other) Fortunately I do not have termites or carpenter ants. However, Lloyd explained in detail the preventative maintenance procedures available should I wish to have such traps installed around my house. My overall impression of Select Exterminating is excellent and yes I highly recommend this company to you. Yes, I will hire Select Exterminating should I decide to use preventative maintenance for termites.

They are good as anyone would be for termites, they got rid of them. They were good.

They come every three or four months. They are good. They are pretty responsive. I do use them from time to time. I think their price is fair. The workers are very nice.

The company was highly recommended to us by one of the trusted neighbors. After we placed the call and left a voice message, the company owner's family member called back immediately and was able to accommodate us for the next day, which was a blessing because the house had been suddenly infested and other companies would not be able to show up for another couple of days.
Select Exterminating showed up on time the next morning, and Bucky the technician was an absolute pleasure to deal with. We also made one follow up call and the company  was very responsive with that as well. The infestation was eradicated for good. This is a wonderful company that we'd love to deal with again if we need any exterminating service. Highly recommended!

at first I had some concerns, but after discussing with  management they completely and successfully resolved them.

Considering the winter we had, it went fine.  The job took longer than they wanted and expected
it to take because of this harsh weather.  However, I do not have the problem anymore.  The owner is even keen to admit when he (the company) is wrong and willing to say it to you in person.  That is old school business practices and very hard to find now a days.

The service turned out okay. I was not present for the service.

It went very well. She was satisfied with everything except for being billed the wrong amount. She kept getting billed as if she wasn't an Angie's  list client.

Very easy to set up an appointment, fast service.

I had mice and they took care of it.

My experience with them was pleasant.  They explained each and every procedure.  I will use them again in the future.

Update to my original review is that I was contacted by the manager who insisted on refunding all my money, which I consider more than kind and for which I am very grateful.  I think that the problems were with miscommunications both among the company's employees and between those employees and me, but I am sure that Select is working on resolving those issues.  My original review contained problems of price negotiation, timeliness, and lack of communication among employees of appropriate work to be performed at my home.  I feel that a full refund has resolved the problems satisfactorily.

major problem/issue-while initial price of $800 for installing 22 devices was okay, they never mentioned to me that they would charge $360 for simply  leaving them installed a second year--even if I did not want or need their visiting/professional services for the second year.  Major issue is overall price after first year.

Very pleased with the responsiveness of the company and the work done.  Have entered into a quarterly service agreement with them to help to prevent future bug related issues.

Technician was prompt, and thorough, explaining all t he steps as he performed them.

I was cooking dinner and went to get a bowl out of the cabinet and out came a roach. I screamed so loud I think I woke up the entire building. I called my parents in the morning to see if they new of an exterminating company to call and they recommended Select Exterminating who they have been using in there home for years. I gave a call to there office and spoke to Melissa who was a delite and got a service man over to my apartment by the afternoon. Bobby arrived and explained exactly how he was going to get rid of the roaches. He was there for about two hours and really made me feel better about the roach issue. I have another follow up appointment scheduled for this week to make sure they do not come back. I would highly suggest using them as there price is reasonable and there staff is exceptional.

Great job! Will definayely use them again, but hope I don't need too!

It went very well.  I signed up for the annaul service.  I haven't seen a sign of a mouse since.
