Forest Hills Hospital

My husband recently died and he was taken over to Forest Hill Hospital. He and I couldn’t have been more cared for. They made sure he was comfortable even though he was non-responsive. He was given medicines to stop seizures and he was covered up like a little treasure. He was given a blanket. He was effectively gone, but they made sure that he was comfortable. When I got there, the doctors pulled me aside immediately and they told me that he was not coming back. They were very sensitive about it and were very clear about that communication. They made sure that I didn’t have any delusions. When they moved him from this hospital to a medical ICU at another hospital, they wrapped him up as it was cold outside and draped a blanket over his head so that the top of his head was not exposed. When they were wheeling him out, they asked me if I would want to kiss him goodbye. It was a lovely thing to do. Not only were they considerate of his needs at a time of crisis, they were also sensitive about how it was affecting me. This is quite contrary of a lot of hospitals and another thing is that when you are brought in on an emergency basis, we can’t go any further than the receptionist because we have to fill up the paper work. There wasn’t any question of paper work when I asked them about it. They said we can cover that up later. I was bowled over by that. I would use this hospital again in the future.
