ABCO-MASTER LOCK & KEY CO

Mike was my technician / locksmith. When I called and reminded them that I had used them in 2013, they remembered the call. I was lucky to get Mike the second time. ABCO Master Lock  worked within my time frame, did an excellent job the first and second time.
Locks were replaced and re-keyed as needed and my peace of mind was restored. Fast and effective service. You CANNOT GO WRONG calling these guys.

Omar was punctual, friendly, and very knowledgeable.  He included deadbolts and added metal on the frame for extra security, and color coded the keys for convenience; he even provided more copies than we requested.  His price was very reasonable given all the work he did, and he gave smart advice on a vast array of other home improvement needs.  Omar takes great pride in his work, which was professionally done with exceptional quality.  Highly recommended!

It went like clockwork. I called at 9:30 AM and made an appointment for 11:00 AM the same day. Mike arrived early and had the new locks installed in less than a 1/2 hour. I would definitely use them again. Mike put us at ease right away and we are happy we found ABCO Master Lock & Key on Angie's list. 

I was very satisfied, they were prompt, they were able to come sooner than they were supposed to, they did the job quickly and the were very professional. The only negative that I have is on the clean up afterwards, it wasn't so good. I liked the fact that they were responsive and they were quick and they got the job. They put in a good quality lock and knowing what the locks cost, I think their prices were reasonable and the two guys who came were very pleasant as well.

When he came to do the job, he explained to me that these locks, that we had, were against regulation and against fire-code and suggested safer, secure locks.  We told the locksmith what the restorer said the door on the left needed a frame for the locks to hold.  He broke the frame on the door on the right as well, but the owner of the company made sure the door was fixed.  However, the door on the left, they refused to fix, but insisted on trying the lock again, and also refused to take out a peep-hole, on the door on the right, that he put in while drilling.

We had to find another company to fix what this company did, and it's very very difficult to find a company that will go over another companies work, but eventually we found someone because of a local reference who was willing to do the work.  We also found an electrician to fix the doorbell that was broken in the process of installing the locks as well.

We ended up taking ABCO to small claims court.  The mediator ruled in ABCO's favor, without listening to the case, taking the word of the locksmith, over the evidence presented by myself, and the master electrician.

***UPDATE***8/29/13***
The matter was never resolved.  The I took the provider to small claims court twice.  We ended up in a room at the courthouse.  It was the judge, the service provider, an employee of his, and me in the room.  We filled a card out to have the results sent out to us.  Somehow they got my signature stating that I wanted to go to a mediator.  It was terrible that he had the court wrapped around his finger.  I attempted to go back and get this resolved properly.  He told the judge that we had been through this before.  The judge dismissed the case because I had tried to get my money back once before and failed.  The service provider said he is going to take me to court now.  He never came to fix the problem!  The employee that was sent out to review the job verified that there was an issue and the provider never fixed it.  I had to have another locksmith come out to fix his work.

We had an emergency in Queens - picture the scene - a locked door, my mother-in-law here in Florida with us and a leak in her apartment....  Not good!  ABCO took our payment by phone, sent out a locksmith in a timely manner, opened the door and changed the lock.  This was a more efficient way of doing things than Fedexing an overnight key.

My deadbolt was not closing properly.  ABCO came an hour after I called and spent about 35 minutes working on the door.  We ended up needing to better align the door by inserting new screws in the hinges.  He also made some adjustments on the latch (where the deadbolt "catches."  All in all a success - the door works great and service wasvery nice and professional.  $125 seemed a little high since no equipment needed to be replaced.

Our front door lock was not operating correctly when you used the deadbolt function and the inside doorknob would occasionally fall out. We didn't want a newer lock if possible as this lock was original to the house with beautiful hardware. Omar and Jim realigned our door, checked the lock and just made some adjustments so that it worked correctly. They also reset the doorknob with new pins. They explained all thoroughly as they were doing the work and took the time to show us how the old lock functioned. We really appreciated their knowledge and effort.
