They did a decent job.  They worked on the big deal.  I got credit for the big deal but it turned out to be much more expensive than that.  I don’t plan to use them again.  But it essence it was inexpensive than what I thought because the work required stripping and re-plastering.  I think the big deal was just for painting and without any kind of work that they put in, the way they interpreted it.

Eric's painters showed up 5 minutes before scheduled time. They took 2 days to paint over 1,000 sq feet of walls, baseboards and ceilings, despite a heating problem meaning it was 46 degrees in the apartment when they arrive. The paint job was 99.9% perfect. This is the 2nd time I've used Westbrook and the second time they have done a great job.

The bathrooms had been in really bad shape, they did an excellent job in repair the bathrooms and painting them. The hallway they painted was excellent. They did a very thorough job and the price was very reasonable in both cases. They were interested in making us satisfied. They came back when we had some minor things we wanted to touch up. They were more than willing to help us out.

We're a property management company and it's mandatory that the painting comes out excellent.  And, the final product came out pretty well.
What also impressed me was his willingness to accommodate our special needs.  Due to the business, the painting needed to be done on off hours.  Eric was understanding and really went above and beyond.  What really stood out was Eric's response to additional work that needed to be done.  An entire lobby needed to be painted that went beyond the scope of the work.  He put men on it during the weekend that worked day and night.  Very impressed.
If you hire Eric to do your paint work, you'll find someone who isn't going to try to cheat you or take advantage of you.  In my line of work, I see too much of this.

Westbrook came when I was in a rush to get this one bedroom painted before my daughter moved home. His team painted the window trim and sashes, baseboard  trim, walls and ceiling.  The workers were very professional; they covered all the furniture and protected the carpet and even helped move furniture that was too heavy for me. I would recommend Westbrook without hesitation-they helped me on short notice when I needed it AND they did a beautiful job.

They were so good. They came really quickly. Was able to schedule right away. Came out on a Wednesday, and then worked through the weekend including Sunday. They stayed late on Sunday to complete the job before Tuesday which was when I needed it done. My experience was very good. Because it was a last minute thing, they were really good with everything.

His workers did a good job. On time, neat complied with requests----finished when they said. Careful clean up. Very easy to work with. Eric wanted me to pick up my own paint, when I said that would be a problem his crew picked it up.

Westbrook is pricey, but the service is superlative.  They gave excellent advice, went out of their way to find us new bathroom fixtures, communicated really well, and left the rooms where they worked neat as a pin.  We would (and will) use the company again.

Excellent work.  There was some confusion about whether the deal covered the paint.  While they didn't intend paint to be included, they were gracious and covered the cost given the confusion.  They were very thorough and professional.  We even had our ceilings and closets done.

The job went  very well.  The owner was very responsivle -- he always showed-up when promised and on time.
The crew was knowledgeable, punctual, friendly and meticulous -- they made every effort to do a superior job and keep the rest of the house clean.
I am very satisfied with the work performed -- everything looks great!
They are on the "high-end" as far as price is concerned, but I would defintely use them again  -- you get what you pay for!

I paid for this in April. Called soon after to try to set up a date when Westbrook could look at my apartment. The company was not able to schedule even a preliminary visit till late June, and was too busy to do the painting until Sept -- almost six months after I paid for it. This was a problem for us: both my husband and I are teachers and had wanted to get the work done before school started. The contact guy rescheduled the original appointment once, and was over an hour late when he did come because "parking was so bad" in my neighborhood. I think he really just didn't want to be bothered with the job. He tried to talk me into a LOT of prep work (ceilings, plastering, skim coating) and gave me an estimate which was almost 4 times the original price, then tried to convince me to cancel the whole job and argue with Angie's list to get some of my money back: "I'll work with you." I wasn't really interested in this; I bought the deal because I wanted to get the work done. If the company is as busy as it seems to be, I wonder why it is involved in promotional deals on Angie's List at all.
It is true that there was a lot of preliminary plastering and prep work that needed to be done in my apartment.  I found another painter to do this, from a company that did a really great job for a fraction of the estimate from Westbrook, and whose workers were extremely punctual and polite. The Westbrook painter himself (who was not the contact person) did a fairly good job, although less good than the other, cheaper company who did the prep work. In the course of the painting, the Westbrook painter knocked a light fixture off the wall and broke it. This would NOT have been a big deal to me --  I understand that accidents happen -- but the painter seemed almost to be frightened -- I wondered if the cost of the replacement was going to come out of his wages -- and the owner/contact person seemed at first not to believe that the accident had even happened. He did not apologize.  He did send a replacement light fixture, although he did not install it. All in all, this was an experience that I would describe as borderline satisfactory.

I couldn't be more pleased with the work of Westbrook - and especially Maciej, the project manager and Zigman, the master carpenter.  We have a 90-year old carriage house, and had a fairly extensive job to begin with, which originally involved repair of significantly water damaged walls and ceilings, plus building custom cabinetry in our bathroom to accomodate a kitty litte box in a confined space.  The original estimate was very reasonable and Eric (owner) helped us prepare appropriate estimates for insurance reimbursement, which were accepted in full.  The job became more extensive as we progressed because the team discovered really poor workmanship from a previous renovation, as well as much more extensive water damage than was anticipated.  With each step Eric gave us an appropriate estimate for the new work.  Zigman was one of the most skilled craftsman I ever worked with in over 30 years of renovations.  They had to completely rebuild a closet ceiling and part of a living room wall that was heavily water damaged.    They did complicated skylight repairs, framing and flawless painting of very steep skylight wells, and Zigman replaced portions of our tin ceiling in such a way that even we can't see where the repair was done.  When it was apparent that our 90 year-old bedroom and closet doors couldn't just be scraped and repainted because they had never been primed correctly, the crew spent days removing the old paint by hand and heat gun until they were down to original wood.  Zigman replaced door knowbs that never worked correctly and our doors look beautiful.   No corners were cut and there seemed to be no job that Zigman couldn't handle. Maciej made many suggestions about decor that really enhanced the final project.  His oversight was meticulous and timely, and he refused to call a job "done" until it was perfect.  As for day to day work, the team moved and then replaced all necessary furniture.  Portions of the house were enclosed with plastic barriers where needed and other surfaces were wrapped in plastic to keep dust out.  While it is impossible to completely eliminate dust from a project like ours, in general we were very pleased with how clean the house was during the project and the fact that each evening they cleaned up all mess from the day.  We had a custom, complicated cabinet installed in our powder room and Adam, the cabinet maker, did an absolutely beautiful job.  I would hire our Westbrook team in a minute and give them a glowing thank you.  The job was longer and more expensive than we originally planned but my husband and I feel that our house is now done to perfection.

Eric responded by phone to my email inquiry promptly.  I live out of town and am only in the city intermittently and Eric was very understanding about my irregular schedule while trying to set a date to see the apartment.  The apartment had not been painted in a very long time, and was looking very shabby.  Going over each of the rooms in detail, I described what I wanted done; I had some specific requests about the painting about which Eric was gracious and accommodating.  We had some discussion about the best way to meet my goals and Eric couldn't have been more helpful about suggesting ways to do that and obtain a high quality result. I thought that the quoted price was fair.

The work started on time. Eric arrived with the two men who were to do the job, and went over each room carefully with them. The estimated time to complete the job was 4 days; they needed an additional two days to finish, because there was a bit more patching work needed than originally thought.  They paid attention to detail and were very careful about protecting areas that were not to be painted.  They moved all the furniture extremely carefully and there was no damage after everything had been moved back into place.  Eric came by before I paid for the work, to make sure I was happy with the result.

I am extremely happy with the results.  Everything looks clean and fresh.  The workmanship is excellent, especially the patching work, which is virtually invisible.

I highly recommend Westbrook Painting!

They did a great job. I was out of town during most of the painting time and asked they wait to paint the living room until I returned as I wasn't sure on the color. They did just that and I'm thrilled with the way it turned out. They skim coated one wall and I wish I'd had the time (and money!) to do it everywhere, it makes a huge difference.

My only complaint is that they didn't remove the wall plates when painting. They simply painted around them. While they were obviously taped so no paint was on them, my plan was to change the wall plates anyway. I had to be extremely careful when removing the old ones so as not to chip the paint when prying them off the wall (as they had clearly been painted on/around several times). It seemed extremely lazy to not remove the plates, when the whole process felt very professional.  I remember Eric specifically mentioning they would remove the plates as he commented the last painters had not.

Overall, I'd hire them again, but I would give myself more time to more closely supervise and be crystal clear in my instructions.
Response from Westbrook Painting Corp.
"Thanks for the report. The previous painters actually applied silicone around the wall plates making it very difficult to remove the plates without making a further mess of the wall. We tried to remove them but ultimately decided to, given the limited time frame, tape them well and paint around them. As mentioned in the report, there was no paint on them."

It was a joy working with Eric and his team.  The are both professional, on time and friendly. I purchased a "Big Deal" from Angie's list that J K Painting offered  for $599 for 500 square feet.  My living area is approximately 1000 square.  I called to set up an in home estimate.  Eric showed up on time and listened to all the things I wanted to happen.  Within 2 days I had a detailed estimate that I could go with or pick and choose according to my budget.   The team of painters were very detailed oriented and made sure that I was happy every step of the way.  They helped by making paint color suggestions as well as giving guidance on a host of other things.   At one point during the job some extra work needed to be done the team immediately called me to give me the option of having the work completed or going on without.   The paint job was beautiful and my apartment was left as clean as it was when the began. I would highly recommend.

I would definitely recommend Westbrook Painting to anyone for their interior painting work and would hire them again for my work in the future.  The Westbrook team worked in a timely and professional manner;  they cleaned up at the end of every day (as well as cleaned up the inferior work of previous painters!) so it was a pleasure to see the finished product.

This was a very pleasant experience from beginning to end. Co-owner Eric always returned calls promptly, was punctual to give the estimate, and stood by it even as the scope of work increased once we started, not seeking to increase the cost and rotating crews as necessary to handle the lengthened schedule. The crew (Ziggy and the others) were not only thorough perfectionists but also very pleasant and understanding of and anticipating our needs. We had an unexpected situation with our ceiling, which is a concrete slab and has apparently settled unevenly; these guys just kept adding skim coats one after the other until it was finally smooth. Another detail is that in the prep work they were very delicate in moving every piece of furniture and were very mindful particularly of keeping our kids' clothes and toys very clean.

Not only did these guys paint efficiently, carefully, and were great about working around an electrical contractor I also had in... but they did stuff I didn't even ask like caulk a few of the major problem areas where the landlord was just really uncareful. They made the office go from fairly ugly to really nice over a period of 4.5 days. On top of it, the team they sent was just incredibly nice and they asked good questions where needed. Can't say enough good things about these guys. Very impressed.

Westbrook Painting did a great job overall and completed a rush job in the middle of the blizzard. Walls look terrific and I am very pleased. I felt the price was high for the size of my apartment and considering the fact they did not have to paint the ceilings or trim. But I would highly recommend.
Response from Westbrook Painting Corp.
"Thanks for the report! It was a pleasure working with you. I'm glad that we able to on very short notice get the job done especially during that severe snowstorm. In addition to the paint work, we also did a significant amount of wall repair/patch work which we agreed to prior to beginning the work."
