We have had the pleasure of working with this company for many years and in several of our homes for a variety of projects including carpeting and vinyl flooring. They are always honest, responsive, helpful and their work is always top notch. The products they sell Are excellent and they never try to upsell to a more expensive product that may be inappropriate for the application. The installation of the flooring is always perform professionally and then a timely fashion.Northern floor covering is the epitome of the benefit of a local private owned store.

Everything — from the office customer service to onsite workmen — went seamlessly. Everybody was a pleasure to work with, punctual, efficient and professional. We were very happy with the end result.

The whole process could not have been easier. At the showroom we picked out a half a dozen possibilities for the carpet and took home samples. Made a decision and called to place the order. Jim came to take measurements and set up an install date. Start to finish - 10 days. Installation was excellent. It is a staircase of varying widths, so it was not a simple job. I'm crazy fussy, but I could not have asked for more - great job. (I saved on the overall cost by removing the existing carpet myself.)

It went perfectly. An appointment was made, and the workers arrived on time. They moved heavy furniture and were able to pull the carpet up from one wall and adjust it. The bulges disappeared. The work was done efficiently, with attention to detail, and everything was explained to me. They completely cleaned the area and returned the furniture to it's original spots. The workers also offered to help me return any other items I had moved. They were polite and professional and turned a task I had dreaded into a pleasure.

I needed advice about what flooring to put down in the basement--I wanted an inexpensive but functional way to quickly transform the space. Jim cam out and gave me excellent options. His straightforward advice and honest price made it very easy to pick Northern Floor Covering over the competition. Due to an error I made, the team was unable to get into the house on the day scheduled, and Jim fixed the problem without missing a beat. Our work was done the next day, and it looks beautiful. You can't beat the look for the price-and the quality of the carpeting is excellent compared to other options I saw for a higher price! Would recommend this company to anyone who might ask!! 5 star service and 5 star end results.

The owner, Jim Fraser, had overseen the installation of my kitchen floor 13 yrs. ago, as well as the installation of bedroom & hall carpeting earlier this year, so I knew that his company provided quality materials and workmanship at an affordable price. Within days of the estimate, Vincent and his team came to remove the wall-to-wall carpet in the LR-DR and to clean and restore the hard-wood floor underneath. I did not want to have the floor machine-sanded, and Vincent and his team went to great effort to hand-sand years-old spots & blotches on the floor and to apply a sealant and 2 layers of latex urethane. The results exceeded our expectations by far: the floor has been expertly refinished. Vincent and his team have worked together for years and are all efficient, professional, honest, and courteous. They took great care not to mar the recently painted walls as they moved furniture, and to vacuum immediately after sanding. After they left, there was little for me to do, except to replace whatever I'd removed from atop the dining-room table and shelves. If you're looking for quality materials and workmanship at an affordable price, I wholeheartedly recommend Northern Floor Carpeting.

Excellent. First Jim came to survey the existing floor and the scope of the work needed. A couple of weeks later I went to the showroom and selected the new floor. Jim gave me a written estimate and we scheduled a date for the work to be done. 3 workmen arrived on time and were done within 5 hours. They left the work area clean and free of any debris. They were extremely professional.

I was very happy with the installation. Natalie made some great recommendations and gave me carpet samples to take home.The owner,Jim,came to our home to give us an estimate,an explanation of what would occur and the date it would be done.Bill,Jim's installer,is a perfectionist.He did a wonderful job.

We had another wonderful experience with Northern Floor coverings, so I'm writing another review. When we were preparing our home for sale, Northern did a fabulous job of installing new wall-to-wall in our finished attic. We just moved into our co-op, and, of course, we chose Northern to custom make our area rugs. After getting an idea of what I wanted in each room, Natasha guided me to the best choices in my price range. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable about the available products, she's a delight to work with. She encouraged me to take samples home and look at them at different times of the day to make sure I was selecting the best one. Jim came to the apartment to measure, and when I asked if the rugs could be configured in an unusual way to connect two hallways, he came up with a creative solution. Each carpet was bound to the rug size I needed, and it was meticulously rolled out over the padding and placed exactly where I wanted it in each room. The service, quality and customer care at Northern Floor Covering are outstanding!

This was a wonderful experience. We had purchased expensive wool carpeting for a guest room approximately 4-5 years ago. Because of a family illness, the room got more traffic than we expected. The carpet wore poorly and was not appropriate for a high traffic area. Northern Floor Covering had an extensive selection and Natasha in the showroom was helpful in picking appropriate carpet. Bill Peters, the owner, oversaw the whole process and his installer was excellent. I recommend them highly.

Vinny and his workers were very professional....Arrived both days at the times I was told....were careful when moving things out of the way...did a great job and a made sure everything was clean when they were done....Will definitely use this company again...Jim the owner followed up when they were done to see the work and asked if I had any questions...Very Happy !

I couldn?t have asked for a smoother transaction. We stopped in at the store to check out the carpeting and get an estimate. Jim Fraser was very knowledgeable about the different products, and it helped in making a decision. He made an appointment to come to the house to measure, and provide an exact price. He showed up on time to do the measuring and brought the samples he said he was going to get for us. Price seemed fair and reasonable and he took a deposit, with the balance due on installation.
Carpeting and installers showed up right on time. They were friendly, did a great job, were careful moving the furniture, and seemed to want us to be satisfied with the installation. Everything went without a hitch and the old carpeting was neatly cut, taped and put out by the curb. All furniture was put back where it belonged. Jim even called a couple of days later, leaving a message on my answering machine to check that everything went well.
Everything went very professionally and I highly recommend the company.

I spoke to JIm the owner after having a terrible runaround with Empire. He showed me tile samples based on what I had been looking at and found the perfect match.
He was able to schedule the job within 2 weeks, saying if he could would do it before 12/31, and he did just that. His crew arrived when they promised, worked quickly and efficiently, and had the job done in a few hours. They were very helpful and courteous, helping to move my appliances around. 
I would recommend Jim and his workers to anyone, and would use them again for any future jobs.

Everyone at Northern Floor Covering did an exceptional job!  The sales rep, Natasha, spent a great deal of time with us and had some wonderful suggestions.  Jim came to our house to measure and was pleasant and professional.  The installers arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and left our home as neat as possible.  They even moved our furniture.  I would recommend them highly and would definitely use them again.

Top quality and service.  The owner is very customer focused.  He wants you to be happy with your purchase and use them again for your flooring needs.  This approach works  as I've hired Jim and his team again to stretch and reinstall a wool carpet in my Manhattan apartment in a couple days.

I chose Northern Floor after reading reviews on Angie's list, and I'm so glad I did.  When I walked into the store, I was warmly greeted by Natalie, who showed me samples, made a wise recommendation as to which shade of carpet to choose, and made arrangements for Jim Fraser to measure and price the work.  Jim arrived at my home precisely at the appointed time.  He explained the padding and installation options, asked me where I wanted the seams, and just generally made me feel included in the process.  The price was very fair, and included a 5% discount for Angie's list members. 



On the day and time of the installation, Jim called to say that the team was leaving the store and would be at my home in 20 minutes.  The 3 gentlemen who worked on the job were completely professional and got to work immediately.  The old carpet was removed and tied up quickly and efficiently.  As waste was brought downstairs and put outside, and new materials were brought in, the installers were careful not to mar any walls or floors.  They worked diligently and quietly, cleaning up well before they left my home.



On the day after the installation, Jim called to ask how everything went.  He is an owner who seems to take great pride in his business and communicates well with his customers.  I highly recommend Northern Floor!

It was an excellent experience from start to finish. Our first contact in the showroom was great. We were shown numerous samples and were urged to take them home to see how they looked in each room. The appointment for measurements was made at the precise time as was promised. The installers came exactly on time and were very professional in moving furniture, removing the old carpet and installing our new carpet.  In fact one of the installers came early to help us move furniture around.  We are very pleased with the 3 different carpets we selected and with the service they provided!

Nice people good  work -  exactly  as  planned.    There  was  a   misunderstanding.   which  was  resolved  in  a  very  good  natured  and fair way.      I highly recommend  them.
