GREAT BEAR AUTO REPAIR & AUTO BODY REPAIR

I went to Great Bear because they had an investigative piece done ;with supposed female mechanic Audra Fordin, on ABC where she went undercover to expose repair shops that lie and cheat people. The irony. They replaced the transmission (Chrysler Pacifica) in my vehicle at a cost of $2500, $1000 more than ever other shop with the promise of a 3 year 25,000 mile warranty (that they do not honor). I had an issue with my transmission within warranty but they were always too busy to even check it. Danny is extreme dismissive and always acts as if your bother him and interrupting his day with your car problem. 
Avoid at all costs.

They're great. My husband would go there to get the car fixed and they would tell him the car would be ready in 3-4 hours and they drive him home. When the car is finished, they come pick him up. They're not so far from our home so they can do that. They are very good and very prompt. If they have to order the parts, they let you know if they'll be ready today or tomorrow morning, whatever the occasion might be. My husband doesn't complain about the price. They are really good to us.

The team at Great Bear is truly fantastic. From the moment you get there, you can tell that people enjoy working there and also know what they're doing. Danny took the time to break it down, explain what was wrong, and explain my options. He was patient and not pushy at all. They did good work and I definitely do not feel as if I was ripped off at all. The work was also done in a punctual manner and got back into my hands within a couple days. I have used them for many other services for my car and will continue to do so. Really pleased with them, A+ dealer.

Awesome experience. Went in the shop was greeted very nicely. Told them what the problem was. Replaced my rotors within 30 to 40 minutes. Professionalism awesome. Time in and out great. Have not had such a remarkable experience at a mechanic shop in years. I would recommend them highly. Everything I ask they were very informative and price was very fair.

The stabilizer bar on my 1992 Saturn broke while I was driving from my home in upstate New York to Laguardia Airport. I parked the car in airport parking and completed my trip (for a nephew's high school graduation). During my trip, I researched auto repair shops near LGA. Having previously had an unsatisfactory experience in a similar situation in New York City, I approached the problem of finding an honest auto mechanic with trepidation. I chose Great Bear because of their generally good reviews on other websites and their proximity to the airport. Upon my return, I nursed my car from the airport to the Great Bear shop on Sanford Avenue in Flushing.

They could not complete the repairs the same day because they had to order parts, so they referred me to an Enterprise Rent-a-Car across the street. The parts took four days to arrive.

The final cost was exactly what they quoted. As I drove the car away from the shop, I noticed a scraping noise emanating from one of the wheels. After I returned to the shop, one of the staff rode with me for a few blocks, diagnosed the problem, and immediately resolved the issue (which was benign).

The staff at Great Bear were straightforward, helpful, respectful, and overall a pleasure to deal with. They made the experience of being marooned by an auto breakdown over a hundred miles from home, if not exactly pleasant, at least a little less nervewracking.
