GOMER'S CUSTOM WINDOW TRTMT

Well -- OK. We've used Gomer's for years, and they are always responsive, professional, and punctual. But this time I was ess than satisfied. The quality of the window shades were not up to the ones that were removed! (and which Gomer had installed 20 years ago). And they don't fit as well. And the mechanism, which I was told is what is the standard, is iffy -- it's hard to get the shades to move and fall evenly. I went through all that with the installer, but it's still not right. I'm not sure I'd use Gomer's again for high-visibility items like this.

Not well at all. After being loyal and consistent customers of Gomer's for almost 20 years, we called to have custom table pads made for a new traditional, fine custom-made wooden dining room table, after it was delivered. When the pads were delivered, they were short at one end, no matter how you placed the pads. Bill, who had taken the measurements,tried to convince me that the "shortness" was negligible. Since he had made the template(s), I felt that custom pads should be a custom and proper fit. After much more measuring, he blamed the table, and said that he had not measured both sides from the center opening, assuming they would be the same. Since the two sides varied by 1/4" and he had measured the smaller half of the opening table, one end pad didn't fit. After a number of calls back and forth, he said they he would have to check with the manufacturer, and HE might have to pay for a new one to replace to replace the shorter half, since it was his error to the table pad mfr. (Table pads for the center leaves were ordered as well.) He was rather rude and abrupt during each conversation. When the replacement arrived, it was delivered by someone else, who just wanted to drop it off. I asked that it put ON the dining room table to see that it fit. He reluctantly did so. Since Bill had been so rude throughout the resolution process, I felt very offended. I thought perhaps a follow-up call of apology might arrive (anyone can have a bad day), but one never did. (Over the years, we had purchased many custom wooden blinds, pleated cellular shades, custom cornices, Hunter Douglas Duettes, and aluminum blinds from them, and again purchased new window treatements as and when we renovated and redecorated.) This has probably been the smallest purchase we have ever made from them, and he chose to lose a customer over it. I would not purchase from them again.

My family has used Gomer's for years. So it was logical when I bought my house that I went to them for all our window treatment needs. Somewhat of a large project so it probably over a year in total, measuring and choosing different window treatments, installation, etc.I never once thought to question their integrity, but I WARN everyone know --- trust no one. We ordered 10 sets of HUNTER DOUGLAS SILHOUTTE WINDOW TREATMENTS, 4 SETS OF HUNTER DOUGLAS HONEY COMB TREATMENTS, one set of valances where the materials 80 plus a yard and another set of valances that ran 40 per yard for material.The silhoutte and honey combs were installed and looked great. a year later I went to have them cleaned and the cleaning coming informed me that I had been had... I was given knock offs. I paid for hunter douglas product and got a knock off. This was important to blind wash.com -- he said the knock off brands don't survive cleaning like huner douglas and wanted me to be aware that they were not hunter douglas like I had told him, and that I was greater risk for the blinds tearing. So when I finally looked at the labeling on my blinds they were some company called Comfortex Window Solutions not Hunter Douglas which I probably paid triple the price.How embarrassing and humiliating. This company that Mother had dealt with for 20 years, and now me - to rip us off so badly but shame on me. before anyone hangs your shades look at the label. I learned a very costly lesson. The comfortex do not last as long hunter douglas. NEVER EVER USE GOMER'S UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE LIED TO AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE.
