National Asphalt Paving has been the worst experience we have ever encountered. They left without burning off the excess oil promising to come back and only did several months later when the damage had been done resulting in cracks and holes forming. The repair work was even worse with patches all over our driveway looking more like a quilt. Additonally, they partially covered a drain pipe with the asphalt resulting in water flowing up from under the asphalt causing additional cracking. We will now be forced to hire another contactor to fix the mess caused by National Asphalt Paving. The responsiveness was rude (many hang ups, abusive and finally just said "sue me" everytime we asked for repairs. Run don't walk from this contractor! We have sinced filed suit against them and won in small claims court. Collection is in process.

April 2013, we hired National Asphalt Paving, Inc. to pave our driveway at our home. The work completed was subpar and the company returned a few weeks later to try to fix the driveway. The second attempt to repair the driveway was also subpar. To date, the driveway is still incomplete. When it rains, our garage floods. This issue did not occur prior to hiring National Asphalt Paving. We?ve contacted National Asphalt Paving numerous times to return to fix the driveway issues, however, they have not returned any of our phone call and communications. We are now going to take the company to Small Claims Court.

George Lazarovitch is a very personable young man in his 20s. He came to my front door unsolicited and pitched the work done to my driveway repair. We agreed that he would repair some damage to my driveway caused by tree roots pushing up asphalt by cutting out the cracked and bulging area of asphalt and replacing it with an asphalt patch. He would also coat the entire driveway and walkway with a coat of asphalt emulsion. He showed up on the day he said he would. George and his helper cut out the damaged asphalt in my driveway that had been pushed up and cracked by a tree root. They didn't show much enthusiasm for digging out and cutting the root that caused the damage. They pulled out some small roots, then I had to bring my spade in to dig deeper to find the larger tree root that caused the damage. They didn't bring enough asphalt with them to fill the hole so they had to return to their supply yard in Riverhead to get more. A couple hours later they returned but still didn't have enough hot patch to fill the hole. When they sprayed asphalt emulsion on the driveway and walkway I pointed out that they splattered emulsion on the wood base of my front porch (which I think should have been covered with carpenter's tape before applying emulsion). As they finished for the day George's helper washed his hands with gasoline on my lawn leaving an area of dead grass. I let the patch cure for two days without driving on it. After driving on the patch a bit it was clear the patch still had a large depression in it and needed more hot patch asphalt. I called George to ask him to bring more hot patch which he did one week later. His uncle or older brother was with him. I asked George if they could bring a roller to flatten the asphalt like a road crew would do for a patch and he said they don't do that for small driveway jobs. I let the 2nd patch cure for two days without driving on it, but in the following week after driving on it for several days the patch still has a depression and needs more asphalt. I haven't called Lazarovitch back for a third visit.

We dealt directly with young George Assouad of National Asphalt Paving Inc. George was a pleasure to talk to and appeared to to be knowledgable in the seal coating business. Our concern was not having the seal coat overlap onto our paving stone border and walkways. George taped the entire driveway perimeter and walkways that adjoin the blacktop driveway in two places. George was attentive to our concerns and used great care in applying the seat coat. George matched the lower price that was given to us by the other asphalt company that completed the new driveway and paver work. George did a neat and good job.

Removed old driveway, applied new with prep underlay, quality asphalt, large crew, and cleanup excellent. Price is what was quoted, no hidden costs.
