DO NOT HIRE THIS CROOK!!! He will charm you when you first meet him and his fiance, Angie, but don't be conned! He does NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING! None of his work is done to code, his work is SLOPPY, he left work UNFINISHED, he DAMAGED new items I had purchased for the rehab, you tell him what you want and he does what HE wants instead and GOD FORBID you complain about any of his work, he will walk off the job just like he did at my house! He said I was "too nit-picky". Excuse me for wanting the work done the right way. This guy should be arrested for stealing because that is exactly what he has done. He left my house unfinished and my bathroom floor is "off" by 1.5", my spa tub was never framed and is also not level so the water runs over the top when I take a shower and leaks through the ceiling of the bathroom on the 1st floor. The thing is, he had that room GUTTED to the studs, floor and all, and this should never have happened! Now, I have to have the entire bathroom ripped out and redone to the tune of another $15k! Then, I wanted my existing hard wood floors sanded & refinished and he suggested doing bamboo flooring. At this point early on in the project, I still respected his professional (I'm gagging) opinion. Long story short, he did a crappy job with the flooring and I found out later that the only reason he suggested the bamboo was because he didn't know how to refinish hardwood floors (even though he said he did)! Now, I have bamboo flooring that was not installed properly and there are huge gaps around all the door jam moldings because he didn't use the correct tools to install it. Lastly, the day I moved into the house, I opened the door and there was literally a waterfall coming from the upstairs down the dining room wall onto the new bamboo flooring (which got ruined) All because he was too stupid to put in a shut off valve on the toilet upstairs (even though I asked him to put one on---he said it was not necessary) This happened on X-mas eve!!!! What a freaking nightmare. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER HIRE THIS INCOMPETENT GUY.

Well I learned from this experience to never believe a deal that is to good to be true and never pay the whole bill upfront! What a disaster! After the first day of the two workers painting they had already ruined each item they painted! They also ruined other things because apparently painters don't carry rags or wet cloths to wipe up spills and "oops" marks. After the 1st day they had spilled primer on my custom paver walk way along with paint, got paint on my brick siding and vinyl siding too. Oh but there's more...they didn't remove or tape things like hardware on my swing set so it all had paint on it, along with multiple other plastic pieces and on the amish swing...well they never took it apart so the chain had paint all over it! The paint job itself was so bad that my 7 year old daughter could have done a better one! There were runs and drips everywhere while other spots had no paint at all. They never cleaned anything off or swept the porch before they painted so instead they just rolled right over all the dirt and junk on the front porch and painted it right into the floor, leaves, sticks, those little helicopters...the floor looked like some kind of geological find! The same was true for the Amish swing...they put the swing in the yard and just slapped on the paint painting both the yard and then when they moved it the yard was painted on and into to swing! Then they didn't come back for over a week and when they did there was two different guys...well first they spent sometime complaining about how bad the first two guys did and then they decided that they could spray the paint on using a hand pump ment for spraying for weeds or bugs....what a disaster! It spitted out everywhere and wasted so much paint. These guys also decided to put the swing up on saw horses but didn't have any! So they borrowed mine...they also didn't have the correct tools to take parts of my playground down that had been painted on by the first two guys and were going to fix. How did they fix them...by painting over them with new green spray paint since the original color was green. Problem with that was they put no effort to match the greens so the new color of all my playground handle bars was John Deer green...not even close to the hunter dark green original. These guys also took my Amish swing and placed it in the yard, disconnected all the chain from the swing to the overhanging arch and put the swing on my saw horses in the yard. At the end of the day they didn't move anything back, they left it all in the yard and said they would be back the next day or two. They didn't come again for over a week and this time when they did return and the owner knew I wasn't happy with the work they guys they had doing it only made things worse! They tried sanding down the runs and drips but did so in such a way that now I have high low spots in the wood of the swing, they never completed painting anything and never tried to remove the countless spots of paint from all the places it should not have been! They reattached the swing at an angle and way to high and didn't put on all nuts so it could collapse on us while on it! Also, the flashing work he was originally hired to do first still wasn't done. At this point I called up the owner who was hard to reach and said that this was a disaster and that his workers did nore damage than good! I told him I wanted my money back for the flashing he still never did along with the painting money...a total of $350.00. He AGREED AND SAID YES TO PAYING IT BACK. But did he.....NO...DODGED MY CALLS AND HAS JUST ACTED LIKE I DON'T EXIST! Now I have to get quotes from new painters to come in and fix and clean up all his mess and I will have much more money into this than I should. This contractor was a hot mess of disaster and not to be trusted...now I am filing reports with the Better Business Bureau and taking him to small claims court because this is not going away for me or him! This has been such a rotten experience and start to our summer vacation as my wife and I are both teachers!
Description of Work: When the owner of Lawrence Home Improvements quoted me such an amazing price to fix some blown off flashing and paint my playground, front porch and amish made wooden swing I was in shock...I even asked if he was sure with what he was saying! I even rounded the bill up an extra $10.00 and paid him upfront for the whole job and he promised it would be done right and look great! The front porch and swing would be primed 1st and then painted and all three paint jobs were using the same color and type of paint which he told me what to buy and where and were contractor grade paint, (Sherman Williams). Everything was set for them to begin and on that first day the two workers came I allowed them full use of my house, fridge, drinks and left them money for lunch.
