LOWES OF FARMINGDALE

The job was not completed. Very poor craftsmanship and very sloppy work. I asked the subcontractor to leave the premises and contacted Lowes about numerous problems. They sent another subcontractor to finish job but they will not acknowledge all the sub par work. They offered to make some repairs, but refuse to correctly grout tile areas that are cracking already (a month or so later) nor will they properly install the shower door which is installed backwards and upside down! The wood moulding around the door is about 3/4 inch away from the wall. The vent fan/heat fan was exhausting into the attic...not outside. An electrical connection for the tub was under the tub, with an outlet not in any sort of electric box. It was just laying on the floor. I made them retile part of one wall as the tile job had a very noticeable wave...nowhere near straight! Medicine cabinet was forced into the opening in the wall breaking the frame of the medicine cabinet. Tile plan was not followed as they ran chair rail tile up the wall to the ceiling and had many chips in the tiles that needed to be replaced. Lowe's Corporate got involved in case but have sent a letter stating what they will fix, but not everything! This was a complete bathroom renovation...everything was gutted and replaced. I'm shocked at Lowes utter disregard that the customer is not happy with the job, and it still remains unfinished several months later. It has turned into a nightmare...thank goodness we have another bathroom to use during this fiasco. I will add to this review as future things happen, but it does not look good.

Online ordering and confirmation emails were fine.  Delivery arrived as advised in the two-hour window.   However, since I was working, I had my elderly, disabled sister at the house to sign for the delivery and have the order placed inside the yard against the fence.  The delivery guy was rude, obnoxious and refused to place the order inside the fence.  He said it was either being dropped at the curb or in the driveway. We don't have a driveway so he was going to put it in my neighbors'.  My sister told him I would be complaining and he said "go ahead and complain to whomever you want."  He finally left the skid with the order on the front lawn right outside of the fence entrance.  Had he opened the fence and put it 2' against the fence, there would be no problem.  I contacted Lowe's customer service.  They called back on Monday and apologized saying it wasn't them - they subcontract with a delivery service.  I told them it was them since I paid Lowe's and Lowe's name is all over it - they are accountable.  They said someone will ge back to me the next day (Tuesday).   Needless to say, I have heard nothing from Lowe's since.  Oh, and "Coleen' from Lowe's did say it is their policy to put the delivery anywhere the customer requests so the deliveryman was out-of-line.  Thanks, Coleen - I have concrete evidence that the delivery was not properly made, and, therefore, no charge should have been incurred by me.

I am not very handy and needed a lot of advice. The three gentlemen who work in the flooring dept were very knowledgable and patient. They could have sold me the highest priced floor, but gave their best opinion for what I needed and sold me the same quality floor that was cheaper. They also spent their time explaining how to put the floor down myself, when they could have sold me the installation package. A great experience.

They took forever to compete the job--they would stay for a couple hours at a time and then leave. The project was supposed to be done in 3 months and it took a year. They are very dirty and very unprofessional.

The store sub-contracts out the work.  Sub-contractor did a good job.  Calling the store was always a challenge trying to find someone to talk to to answer questions/concerns.  You also have to deal with the subcontractor's availability.  Overall a positive experience but could have moved along faster & smoother.  Luckily I wasn't in dire need to get it down asap.

The whole process was too time consuming. Once you pick out the door and pay for it, you then need to call a number to have it installed. They didn't have the exact door in stock so I had to go back to the store. The installer was just trying to bang out jobs - didn't seem to take too much pride in workmanship.

The sales people at Lowe's were friendly and knowledgeable. They had a great selection and were able to install the carpet very quickly. The installation was smooth and we love our carpet. It was a little higher priced than we were hoping for, but it was well worth it. We went with a cheaper company for another room and are really sad that we did.

Lowes of Farmingdale actually got our blinds in before they had thought they would. Their blinds and shades are 1/2 the cost of Instant vertical ones. Lowe's was very helpful to us in getting exactly what we wanted. We were glad that we went there for these blinds.

When I received the price for the dryer my wife and I wanted, I asked about a 10% coupon I had and was told it could be used. I asked if I opened a charge card, if Id get an additional 10 percent off, I was told "NO" very smugly. When I explained that Home Depot follows that policy, I was told "Good for Hoem Depot, why dont you go buy it there?" Well, I did, and Home depot did in fact give a 10% discount and then aftyer opening a charge account, take another 10% off. I am very disappointed in Lowes and will NOT return.
