Tommy was GREAT! I rarely write reviews but he did such a wonderful job inspecting our home, I felt the need to praise his work, since I found him through yelp, and the simplicity of his website did have me wondering (hope he finds someone to help update his website to match his profesionalism and amazing work). I compared Yelp to Angies List to BBB to various Home Inspector certification sites and emailed three home inspectors (have been told anything related to houses - get three quotes). I also googled "what to look for in a home inspector" and "what to ask." Tommy responded quickly with thought out responses to my questions. Though he was slightly more than the other home inspectors I had emailed, his email response already showed drastic quality difference, and for a home inspector, you want someone detailed, especially in writing reports. He arrived to our home on time, allowed both my partner and I to follow him the entire time (one of the questions I asked in the email and something google said is a red flag if a home inspector does not want you present). He spent 3 quality hours explaining what he was looking at to us and taking photos for his amazing binder he mails you immediately (really every step he blew us away). He looked at our roof (its amazing how much you can see from the street level), gutters, windows, foundation, driveway, deck, how rain water flowed around the house, checked for signs of termites, tested every outlet in the house, checked the dates / maintenance records for the ac unit, furnance, and water cooler, went in the garage, attic, and crawlspace, and of course walking around the interior of the house (checking that it was level, any signs of water damage / mold, and etc). He was so indepth with his explainations and when we asked him for contractor recommendations, he let us know that is a conflict of interest and maintained a high level of professionalism, while also being down to earth / friendly.

Excellent. The inspector arrived on time. He was very meticulous and helpful and allowed me to accompany him during the inspection. He was also very open to questions and did his best to answer them completely.

Jerry did an excellent job on our home inspection and the report he generated. He was polite, courteous, and very knowledgeable about all aspects of the house that he saw. he gave several recommendations that we will follow through on, and we felt confident that he knew his business. He showed up to the house before we did and took exterior pictures. We shadowed him throughout the inspection and he was able to explain many things about our new house that we did not know, but are good to know. He was not afraid to get dirty and to crawl into tight crawlspaces as part of the inspection, and he did not hurry but took his time. I would estimate the entire inspection took approximately three hours. After the inspection he provided a well written report in electronic and hard copies.
I would highly recommend him and his services.

This is the second time I've used Tommy for a home inspection, and both times he did a fantastic job.  Very thorough and knowledgeable, takes his time and does the job right.

Tommy was early and prepared. He took me step by step around the entire property - explaining everything to me. He was very professional and I gained a lot of valuable knowledge. He is very courteous and thorough. We spent about 3.5hrs inspecting every nook and cranny. I highly recommend Tommy.

I contacted Tommy just a few days prior to scheduling the appointment which was for late afternoon on a Sunday.  Tommy had no issues with accommodating our request to perform the inspection at that time.  Tommy arrived just prior to the scheduled time.  Tommy introduced himself and walked me through what to expect during the inspection.  The inspection started at the street and he worked his way around the home's exterior explaining each step he was performing.  This continued as we entered the house.  The inspection took approximately 2.5 hours and was thorough.  Tommy summarized his results after he was done, explained he would deliver his report via email with two days - and which I received just 24 hours after completion of the inspection.  Tommy also provides a hardcopy of the report via USPS.
The inspection process was easy, efficient and exactly what was required.  I would recommend Tommy to anyone needing his service.

Tommy from HomeSpector was punctual, thorough and extremely detailed. He walked through the entire house us and answered every question that we possibly had. He was very good. It was easy to schedule for him to do the inspection. The service is very good. He is very conscientious and thorough. His reports when he either e-mailed them or sent us a hard copy were very quick. I would give him two-thumbs up. The price was a little high in my opinion. I was very happy with the service. I would use him again in the future. I like him, but I would price some.

Tommy gave a very thorough inspection, he knew what he was doing and made me feel at ease with the inspection. It was very awkward when tommy was pointing out every flaw in front of the home owner and the home owner was denying everything but tommy kept his cool and never once was there a confrontation. Tommy only spoke to me and was amazing. Price was great and after receiving the binder and his report I was able to lower my offer and it was accepted.

Outstanding experience with Tommy. The Inspection lasted about 2 1/2 - 3 hours. With brutal cold weather Tommy arrived on time and spent  a great deal of time outside as well as inside explaining every aspect of his observations, taking numerous photos, all of which were included in a detailed report which arrived in an email the next day and a hard copy in the mail. Tommy is extremely polite, professional and patient taking the time to fully explain and answer any and all questions. He was so detailed that the home owner was getting worried of how much time we had spent in the house -  The minor everyday imperfections of the house were addressed and explained fully as not to worry the purchaser as well as the major issues.Tommy was very prompt in answering phone calls and responding back. I highly recommend Tommy.

The entire experience, from start to finish, was an absolute pleasure.  Tommy spent about 3 hours inspecting the home.  He photographed all of his observations and took the time to explain everything to me clearly.  It was actually incredibly educational and his explanations greatly enhanced my understanding of the home, its defects and potential hazards.  For each observed defect, Tommy provided some color on how serious/critical it was.  Less than 24 hours after the inspection, Tommy emailed me an extremely detailed 60+ page report of his observations, including photographs and a summary section that highlights important points.  The report aligned to the explanations that Tommy provided me onsite.  He also provided me with documentation on how to maintain and care for a house.  I highly recommend Tommy.

Tommy was professional, prompt and thorough. And by thorough, I mean REALLY detailed. Every little thing about the home was documented and discussed for 3 hours. I loved it! I felt like he not just inspecting this home, but teaching me. 
He recommended follow-up inspections with other specialists. But he did NOT recommend anyone for those inspections, which I appreciated. You know? He was not selling us more services, or the services of his friends. He was just making sure we knew everything we could about this 115 year old home before we buy. 
I would recommend Tommy very highly to anyone. Having someone so careful looking at this property is exactly what we needed.

I would highly recommend Tommy for home inspection services. He responded to requests for an appointment promptly. Despite the fact that I had to reschedule the inspection several times he was always flexible and willing to work with my difficult schedule. On the day of the home inspection he was prompt and prepared. He provided a very comprehensive inspection and also spent the time to provide some pointers for home maintenance since we are first time home owners. We needed the inspection report quickly and he provided a PDF document with many pictures to document his findings. He is knowledgeable and thorough. I give him an A+ rating!

Tommy has done an exellent job for us.  He explained to us everything that will be checked during inspection. It was an excellent experience as Tommy was thorough and professional. Showed up on time, was articulate, polite and very knowledgeable. Very informative, received a detailed report sent to my house with color photos and explanations. Will use him again and would recommend.

We found HomeSpector on the Angieslist sight. We called and they were very nice and confirmed the day and time that we preferred.  Jerry arrived on time for the inspection.  He was professional, very knowledgable and very thorough.  As we moved rom area to area, he ponted out anything good or bad about the house and let us know if there were any big or little problems and explained everything very clearly.  He was very thorough and checked in areas of the home that were not easily accessible. After he completed his inspection he summarized the condition of the house and everything that he thought would be important to repair.  He ven gave us and idea s to how much we could expect certain appliances to last and the cost of replacement.  He found evidence of termites and told the homeowner as well. His report arrived the next day by e-mail.  The report was easy to read and understand unlike others that require an engineering degree to understand! I highly recommend Homespector and Jerry!

I called for a last minute home inspection on a new construction home on 4/21/14.  Tommy responded right away and to my surprise was available to inspect the home the next day.  He arrived exactly on time for the inspection and got right down to business.  He was exceedingly thorough and professional.  He took the time to explain each step of the inspection and what he was looking for and answered all questions in a simple and easy-to-understand manner.  We finished the inspection in about 2 hours and I was shocked to find a copy of a 50 page report, full of pictures, sitting in my email the next day with a hard copy to follow soon after.  I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a home inspection in the Long Island area.

Inspector was very thorough and worked hard to insure we understood the various concerns.  He provided a lot of information and education about common homeowner pitfalls and items we should be aware of.
