Farmingdale Dog & Cat Clinic

Veterinarians, Animal Grooming, Animal Boarding Kennels,

About us

Farmingdale Dog and Cat Clinic was originally established as a feline only clinic. By expanding our services to include outpatient care for dogs as well as cats and limiting our services to those that can be provided in a clinic setting, we are able to keep fees down without affecting the quality of care that we provide to our patients.

Services we offer

Veterinary Care. Surgery. Pet Pharmacy. Grooming & Boarding.

I concur with the people who have said that the service has become increasingly poor. My wife took off work so our cat could be seen for an emergency visit, due to a puss filled cyst. Despite her 2:30pm appointment, she was still waiting in her car at 3pm. When she inquired when she would be seen, they simply said they were busy. My wife reminded them that this was an emergency appointment, but they advised her she was welcome to go elsewhere. My wife said she loved our doctor there (who had just performed a cyst removal months before). The manager asked if she also loved the staff. When my wife refused to say she did, they brought out the cat's file and refused his emergency appointment. There were other instances of rudeness, but it is simply unconcionable for an aminal clinic to refuse service to a sick cat who had been a patient there for 10 years.

He was in a lot of pain. They told me they were double booked for two weeks and couldn't see him. I should call when they open to see if they could fit me in at some point. I should go to an emergency center if I wanted him to be seen. I'm not taking a 15 year old dog who is in pain to a unfamiliar place to see an unknown vet when I can't even go in because of the pandemic. That is inhuman as well as bad business practice. If you're so greedy you book that many appts., you see urgent patients at the end of the day. Better yet, you allow space for an emergency. I have waited many times to see a doctor because someone unscheduled needed to see the doctor. If you can't count on your vet to take care of your pet when he is in pain, he's useless.

Farmingdale Dog & Cat Clinic and its staff should improve its poor bedside manner and learn to not treat their clients as if their just a number or in thinking their clients are dispensable. They have no patience and tolerance for their patients - dismisising and terminating them of service for their pets simply because they feel a client makes too many few phone calls during a given week to the office surrounding a specific instance in the span of years that has the clinic's staff all hot and bothered over worrying about its staff's time instead of dedicating the quality attention, care and treatment that is deserved to the parents of the pets they are responsible for helping - especially after those clients have invested countless hours of their personal time and hundreds of dollars to boot into their clinic for getting their pets health problems resolved even when they are still enduring those problems despite all the time and money already invested. This clinic and its staff have no shame in terminating clients without haste when the one thing that should be terminated is the staff's rude, nasty attitude and lack of regard for its clients as well as the time, money and faith that clients' invest in the clinic forthe caring and treating of their pets. As it turns out they are overpriced as well as since having had the pleasure of being terminated from this clinic's services, I have come across other vets whose prices are less, with ultrasounds being at least $100 less then it charges and steroid injections coming in at least $10.00 less then it charges. I guess things really do happen for a reason and in this case Farmingdale Dog & Cat Clinic did me a favor in letting me go! I would definitely run the other way before taking your pet here.

They are honest and reasonably priced. They are really good and they do not do any unnecessary services. They also work with rescue animals and they also do good services for the community. Once they gave me ear medicine for my cat, it was a double sized bottle for less than what I paid for at a commercial vet.

This kitten has been very skittish and unable to hold him. The staff trimmed his nails for me. The expert treatment by Dr. Senk who is known for her feral cat work, was invaluable. This is a lower cost alternative for spay and neuter, but the are now owned by Crawford Animal Hospital, so you have the surgical back-up of their New Hyde Park facility. I have had to go there at times for the special veterinary food this cat receives.
Do not take your feral cats to the town for Spay and Neuter. Here they love feral cats and treat them well. The price is lower cost, but the care is top notch.
