CHARTER

nginCharter is a horrible company to do business with. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They were supposed to fix my internet problems. The signal has constant problems so it is really both a quality and customer service problem. Charter made me wait a week for an appointment, then they no-showed. They did not even call to say they would no-show, just did not show. Then they made me wait another week instead of fast-tracking my appointment after the no-show. Their latest fiasco was to claim I never turned in the no good router they were renting me so they can continue to charge me 10 dollars a month for it. This after I waited an hour in line at the horrible in-person service center they make you go to for many concerns related to your account. Avoid them if possible.

During the initial call to Charter, I was informed that they did not service my street. When I informed the rep that my neighbor had Charter, I was told that I was wrong. A second call to Charter (different rep) confirmed that they did offer Cable/Internet service at my address, but installation of these services would take approximately (3) weeks. We have decided to use a combination of DSL and satellite instead due to the companies poor response.

Charter TN cable has been available along the road I live on for the past 3 or more years. Three years ago it was available and I ordered cable hook-up at my house. They showed up and said they would be back in one month to follow-up on connection, they never showed. Recently, I ordered Charter TN to get cable High Speed Internet service 10/07/06 again. They were very nice over the phone, however, they have very poor customer service for first time cable "Hook-up". Charter sub-contracts their labor to a local company(s) to do their local work to get the cable to my house. When I ordered the hook-up they told me it would only take 1 hour to do. When they showed up, they said they could not do it at this time and would have to have another sub-contractor "dig a line" the following week. Two-weeks went by and no one showed up. I am still waiting as of 10/28/06.
