Came with a good price and did a good job with the roof. Overall very satisfied until we found out there was a problem.
Every time it snows with a west wind our vent fills with snow. It then melts and stains our paint on our master bedroom.
This guy will not answer my calls regarding this problem that was not there before his service was provided.
Do not use this contrator.

Richard came to my door with a price that couldn't be beat. I had 2 other estimates done, and he was $1000 or more below them. We found out later that he under-estimated my cost and that my roof was bigger than planned, but he never charged me more and just said that was his mistake. His actual roofer was named Robert, and he was exceptional. He arrived early, was extremely neat and worked tirelessly. He told me (and showed me photos) of when he noticed that the dye lot was different in the tiles. He refused to keep putting them on my roof until they delivered new ones that matched. You don't see or hear of that kind of honesty and dedication to the customer in many workmen. I would use this company again in a heartbeat. My roof looks wonderful.

I dont even know where to begin....I suppose I would say NEVER, EVER, EVER trust this guy to do anything because he is a s******* and just wants to take your money without doing what he says he is going to do. Dont trust this man!!! He says he can do the work and then you pay him and he does a half a** job! Seriously. We payed him $2000 to tear out our deck and hot tub which he did and it only took 3 guys a couple of hours, but his guys just cut the poles off at the ground so we had to go back and dig them out ourselves, which took several hours because there were about 8 cemented into the ground. That was the first thing that irritated me to no end...
Second - he pushes windows when he says he is going to do your roof so be prepared for his pushy sale techniques. We have an old house and there is damage (rotting) to the outside wood surrounding the window, which he assured us he would fix. His idea of fixing this was to put an vinyl frame covering the rotted wood and nail it on. After he did this my husband had a bad feeling that he did not fix the rotted wood and sure enough when my husband took off the vinyl surrounds that the idiots caulked around the storm windows so we couldn't open them to clean them it was very clear that there was nothing done to the wood to repair it. My husband had to spend another $200 dollars on wood repair kits and several hours of his time to fix this...which we were assured would be done. My husband gave the owner a call to complain, but he was useless and at that point we didn't want him back on our property or to see his face ever again!
However - we did have to deal with him again because several months later our roof started to show obvious bubbling. He did send someone from his crew over to fix this issue...some underlayment wasn't secure or something along those lines and it was repaired. Hopefully there will be no other issues. I would not reccomend this man for anything!!!!!

They responded to our request for quote the 1st day, my husband was so impressed with the owner, we canceled the other two companies who were coming to give us quotes. They showed up to do the job a few days earlier than expected. One man did the job and worked tirelessly in the heat. So far our leaky roof is no longer leaking and it looks great.

We had to get some estimates for a wrap-around porch roof that was leaking badly. The house is a city rental and we wanted it done right but could not afford an expensive roofing job.They did the work quickly, at a much better price than 2 other estimates we got. They used 30 year architectural shingles. It looks good and, so far, no problems. The owner was prompt, informative and helped us pick a color that went with the siding. We would use them again.

After meeting with several contractors we met Richard on a fluke. We reviewed his history and reviews on Angie's of course. His price seemed ridiculously low. But having heard all the sales pitches from the other contractors I was pleasantly surprised to find he covered all the same issues as the companies that were two (and in one case three) times the price. The job took half a day longer than originally quoted, but we were never inconvenienced. Be aware that Star uses a very large crew, so don't expect it to be done quietly, also from what I observed they only work 8am-1pm (again not a big deal to us). I personally went on the roof several times to inspect the work and was very pleased. When Richard advised me of the chimney damage, I did some quick price checking and once again he was half the price and the workmanship was excellent. He subbed the gutters but then inspected the work himself and the outcome was stellar.
I would have ZERO problem recommending Richard and Star Roofing to anyone

Star had the lowest price so we were skeptical but the owner personally drove us around to view previous customers particularly those with the same type of shingles that we were considering. That sold us on Star Roofing. They were very cooperative in setting the install date and workers were punctual, professional and paid a great deal of attention to providing a quality install. After the job was complete the property was cleaned and the roll-off was promptly removed. The recommended gutters just added the perfect accent to finishing off the appearance of our home. Truly a quality install and a happy customer.

They were incredibly fair priced. They were wonderful. They were prompt and were here when they said they would. They finished the work on time and cleaned up after themselves.

The job was performed promptly and professionally. It's important to have owner be present to supervise the work.

We were very pleased with their work. Their punctuality was not very good and we had some problem getting them out here, but, once they came it was fine.

I was generally pleased with the job. There were a few small problems, but the work seemed to have been done with efficiency. I dealt with the owner of the company. He was fairly easy to work with and even gave me a ride to pick up my car. He explained things and was by and large responsive to my concerns.

We were very pleased with the work. The work was done quickly and efficiently- one worker did the whole job in abt 3 days. He was very neat and self-sufficient. Since the work was done we've had several rainstorms and there's no evidence of any problems with the work.

They were very prompt--came when scheduled, worked efficiently, and cleaned up well. The final price that was charged exceeded the estimate by $500, as they found a 3rd layer of old roof over a significant portion of my house. This seemed fair to me. When I put my house on the market a year later (9/08), the buyer's engineer said the ridge vent needed more openings for full effectiveness. Richard returned my call within 24 hours, and had a crew there within the week. They replaced the entire roof ridge after increasing the vented area, and charged me NOTHING. I was very impressed by his responsiveness.

They were efficient they came in and did the entire roof in two days and did what they said what they were going to do. They used the roofing tiles they said that they were going to use. The only thing that I was a little bit unhappy was that they installed a ceiling fan and it didn't work properly. Called them and they came and said they weren't electricians, they just installed the fan.

Richard came right over and gave a good estimate that was in the ballpark for the other roofers we contacted and the work cost exactly as quoted. His team is excellent. They efficiently completed all tasks. One side of the roof was stripped and then put up in one day. The other side was stripped and put up three days later. Probably the only down side was that we found 3 nails in the driveway (thankfully not in the tires) after he left. In his defense, it was fall and there were some leaves.

Star Roofing did a good job. The roof does not leak and the rows are straight. They came out when they said they would and worked hard to get the job done in three days. They cleaned up their mess and did not ruin the yard. I highly recommend them.

I would go back to Star Roofing because the company is affordable for roofing projects. I also felt they did a good job and I am quite satisfied with the results.

I have hired Star Roofing for other jobs. I was very pleased with the quality of the work and that it was done when they said it would be. I now no longer have any water problems.
