Northside Company

We had a good experience but we were disappointed that they never responded to a job that we had at our commercial property. They were very attentive to do the high quality roof on our house. We've made several phone calls to them and they promised to come to give us an estimate for the commercial property and they never came. We were very disappointed with that. The work on our house was fine. They did a good job. They came pretty well when they promised. They were punctual. There were little minor things that we thought needed fixing and they came back and did it. As far as our home goes, they were okay. We would recommend them to other people until they didn't respond regarding the other property. Their prices were in line with others.

It was very quick; they did it in two days. The quality and the customer service were excellent. It was a good experience.

In addition, the ceiling leak experienced during heavy rains this fall was discussed with mr. barbieri, and he suggested that we have wider gutters installed in that area and to clean the gutters more often, to see if that would solve the problem. If there is still a leak once proper gutters are installed, then we could assume that the problem is in the roof, and we would then discuss how that could be fixed. so we have gotten estimates for replacing the gutters in question, and will have the work done before any roof work. As for the work that has been done, the workman installed the roof vents one week after the estimate was accepted and everything was completed within a couple of hours. we are satisfied with Northside's professionalism & promptness, and found the price to be very similar to another estimate we were given for connecting the bathroom exhaust ducts to proper vents in the roof, last year.

The service from start (making the phone call for estimate) to getting the sales person coming down to the house and giving me the estimate (very nice, knowledgeable and experinced) to getting the material delivery to istallation and final walk through (with the installer foreman, sales person and the Owner) was a very excellent experience. I got a great product, well installed by a very quality professional team - very happy customer.

I recently had a small leak. They came as soon as I called them. They were here within 24 hours. They repaired the leak and there was no problem again. There was no charge. The problem was not necessarily from something that they had done. I was very pleased.

Fast. Very reasonable price. Used a $250.00 coupon for Angies List subscribers. A group of roofers worked just a couple of days working constantly. Everybody had his job and all worked very efficiently. Couldn't be more pleased with the process and resulting new rioof.

Sal Barbieri (owner) came to do the estimate and made a couple of additional trips to show some samples for the shutters. He was professional, knowledgeable, engaging and patient throughout the process. He wasn?t the cheapest or most expensive of the three estimates, but he was competitive and willing to negotiate. He explained everything concerning the job in great detail. More on Sal later. I also had time to do some research, and he used top notch materials (better than the other two companies). Northside also scored high on Angie?s list. The crew showed up on Monday morning, as promised, and got started. They worked hard and constantly. I felt bad because they were working through a period of 95+ degree temperatures. Very polite and willing to talk/answer questions. Joe, the foreman, was very helpful and attentive. As I went through the 5 days with them, I found out that Sal took the time an expense to send them to formal GAF training schools. This clearly paid dividends based on the quality of the work. It also gave them an excellent understanding of their materials. Cleanup was done every day and I only found a few things to pick up. The end result was terrific. Great looking roof, venting problem solved (and noticeably cooler inside the house because of it). Professionally done and completed as promised. Sal was also there once or twice per day to see what was going on. After completion, a problem popped up and this is the ?more on Sal later? part.. The eaves venting extended the roof line out an inch or two. his wouldn?t have been a problem, but the design of the front porch had two gutters crossing and one feeding water into the other. First rain = flood from the gutters that no one had anticipated.. To make a long story short, Sal simply took care of the problem - at his expense because he hadn?t quoted the work needed doing.. He arranged for a contractor to come out and install wider gutters, add a downspout and eliminate the problem. This involved adding an additional downspout. He also replaced the small gutter/long downspout on the other end of the front of the house so everything would match. All with custom color material. This took awhile to complete because he thought the first contractor had done the job and was mortified when I called after a month to ask when it would be done. A second contractor was there 2 days later and the replacement work was done within a week with Sal keeping in contact with the contractor (and me) throughout. In summary, the work, price, results were stellar. However, the gutter/downspout piece is above and beyond, but illustrates the quality of the company and the fiber of the man. Sal ?gets it? and is a rare example of an excellent customer service role model. For any of the services Sal provides, you need look no further than Northside Roofing and I recommend them without reservation. UPDATE: December 19, 2011 I noticed a small wet spot on the ceiling in one of the bedrooms today. I called Sall at 11:45 AM and he said he would send someone out. They were there in 40 minutes!! He went up on the roof and found the small problem and fixed it with some caulking and resetting the boot on a roof chimney (and a couple of other small things he found). Done and gone in just over an hour from the phone call. Now THAT'S outstanding Customer Service! These folks are the best.

Like many, we don’t often have the need to solicit quotes for major home improvements and the search for just the right company to replace our aging roof initially seemed a bit daunting. We accepted his quote on the spot, have never looked back and have been delighted at every turn. Not only did we get a first rate roof replacement that looks terrific, we had the rare pleasure of working with an organization that did exactly what they said they would do, precisely how they said they would do it and within the quoted timeframes for starting and how long it would take to complete the job. Each day the work progressed as planned, so we knew exactly what to expect and at the end of the day the site was cleared and kept neat. We are delighted with the results. Way to go Sal! If you are considering roof work, in my opinion you owe it to yourself to consider Northside. Top quality workmanship and materials at a competitive price.

Their work was highly professional from beginning to end. Sal was prompt and informative, and his crew was excellent. Clean-up was especially thorough. The estimate was right on the money. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again if it ever becomes necessary.

Sal Barbieri, the owner of Northside Roofing, gave us a quote on a re-roof of an addition on the back of our house. While we decided to go with another contractor whose ideas and quote impressed us greatly, we were very satisfied with Mr. Barbieri's quote, price, and professionalism, and would have felt comfortable going with Northside for the repair. This opinion is also partly based on past positive experience with Northside.

Fantastic! They are so punctual and the team worked so hard. I was amazed at how quickly they worked, and they obviously took pride in their work. The materials are of good quality. The clean-up was immaculate. That was very impressive. Overall, the speed and efficiency were amazing. Mr. Barbieri was very puncutal on each visit, which means a lot in a contractor!

They came out on a Friday and told me they would put the estimate in the mail on Monday, but that was three weeks ago so I don’t think I will ever hear back from them. I thought that was pretty unbusiness-like. They were physically here on time, but they punctuality is poor if they never send me a quote.

Sal was great during the estimation process; he provided straight up pricing, no high pressure or fake discounts like some other firms. He very knowledable (26 yrs in business), provided samples, and his web site has a great color selection tool. The roofing installation team was amazing; they arrived early and wasted no time in getting to work. You can tell this team has worked together for a long time. They were all knowledgeable, skilled and efficient. No standing around for this team, they got to work and stayed at it until the immaculate cleanup was complete. This team has a great work ethic. . The team leader, Chris, was wonderful in answering questions and making sure we were pleased with the finished product. Clean up included removing small marks on the siding and a nail magnet to assure any loose nails were picked up - Important to a grandma with small grandkids around. The gutter installation team was just as knowledgeable, efficient and concerned for customer satisfaction. This is another Northside team with a great work ethic. We were amazed at the speed and neatness of the installation. We are so pleased with the look and efficiency of the new gutters. In summary, if you want a firm that provides an excellent product, no high pressure, great employees that know what they are doing and is concerned with customer satisfaction than be confident in selecting Northside Roofing.

Northside Roofing was the first to respond to my quote request and provided a very fair price. Showed up and completed the job as scheduled. Quality of the products and workmanship was/is excellent. Crew was professional, polite and friendly. Minimal if any impact on day to day activities even with a full tear off. Highly recommend! p.s Northside made sure I would no longer have a problem with my flat roof section. Installed a system that included running the protection up and under the siding for added protection. Looks great and provides peace of mind.

We chose them because of their rating on Angie's List. They are in our neighborhood and we like to go with people in the area. They presented themselves very well and seemed to know what they were doing. The owner was right on top of things. When they did the work they did it well. They are excellent and do a good job. You get what you pay for. They have an office and are not a fly- by- night group. I will use them again.

Great company to work with. They are thorough in their pre-work inspection, their estimate is accurate. They use top quality materials (as opposed to other quotes who used mid grade materials and changed just as much). They cleaned up after themselves and Sal came back later to make sure everything was OK. This company knows what they are doing and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and/or use them again!

They are great because of their service. They are willing to work with you around your schedule or as soon as possible. Sal came in and he explained everything. Everything just went like clockwork. It was great.

They called the day before showing up to see if it was all right to begin. They showed up the following day with a crew of 8 or 9, I talked with the foreman about a couple of things that I wanted off the roof and they were finished with the tear off, installing the plywood and sealing it by the end of the first day, which protected it from the rain and light snow that night. The next day the crew was back and worked all day and the following half day to finish. The cleanup was great - they really cared about making sure all nails were up. The estimate was honored and I am very satisfied with the performance, professionalism and quality of their work. The owner Sal was great to work with.

We weren't all that impressed with the foreman. The owner was fine and always corrected what was wrong. They had a lot of people up there to get it done quickly. The foreman just wants to get the work done but he's not real good with dealing with people. The foreman was not good with interacting. You need to babysit when they come to make sure they are getting done what you want to be done. I thought they were more of in a hurry than I wanted. The gutter guy was terrific.

There have been two instances of leaks again. The first time northside sent some people over to fix the first leak that occurred after the first big snowfall. There has been a leak in another area of the kitchen which did not exist with the old roof. They have not been responsive and the company has been disappointing. We have been left with a leaky roof and a hole of several thousand dollars. The cellphone number for their representative, Mark, goes straight to voicemail

The experience was good. They did it on time when they said. I don't remember any issues with them. The cleanup could have been a little bit better. The price was okay. They were pretty responsive and they seemed professional enough. They were good.

I requested an estimate for a roofing job from this firm. I met with Sal Barbieri, the owner, and he was on time, professional, friendly, very informative, we discussed the pros and cons of various methods to get the job done, he inspected the roof and pointed out various failures and need for repair in particular. He gave me a very professional typed estimate at the end of the discussion. In the end, based on price, I selected this firm to perform the work in the Spring of 2011 - will follow with a report after that work is performed.
