They were very nice and completed the job when they said they would. They had to clean-up some wooden doors that they didn't fully open, this should have been my first clue, and didn't reinstall any of the switch plates that were removed. I did go through with Jaymes, at the start of the job, all the windows that had screens and did open since we have an old house. Finally at the end of April/May 2011 the weather is finally warming up, I tried to open a back window (one that clearly has a screen in it since we don't have a storm for it). I had to cut the paint with a razor blade and even with that we can only open it about 6 inches and clearly they near opened it since the bottom part of the sash wasn't even painted! Then I needed to change the long term filter on out second furnace (in a second basement the isn't used at all, we don't even open the door unless we have to change the filter) and I opened the painted door and they never even painted the bottom of the door...they never opened it!. We have now noticed some of the paint bubbles showing, so they never properly prepped the wall/trim surfaces. I called Jaymes and left a message, he didn't return my call. I called a few days later and he was very confrontational, wondering why I was calling then, I explained to him what I found especially about the window. He basically called me a liar saying that the window was painted shut in the first place. Why would I lie? He was completely unprofessional and obviously a one and done painter, not relying on recommendations, as most contractors do. I would NEVER recommend this painter. As the weather becomes more humid, the paint on the trim is bubbling. The surfaces were never prepped.
