Derek Schaff

During the 2016 season, it was frustrating, because it always took a lot of prodding to get work done. I figured they had taken us on in mid season, and were already staffed up to handle their client base, and so tried to be understanding about it. I also made very sure that in prep for 2017 season, I worked with him very early to ensure that we didn't encounter the same problem, so when he sent out his initial questionnaire in Feb, I sent it right back, with lots of detail about what we were looking for. I also did the same on his website, so that he had plenty of info with which to plan. Regardless of these efforts, this year's experience was a thousand times worse even than last year's. Despite numerous emails, phone messages, etc, it was MAY (3rd week) before he even showed up for the first time to start the spring cleanup. And when I say 'start', that's what I mean - he worked part of a Saturday. I went out and spoke to him while they were here working, and we discussed how far behind we were (the lawn still needed reseeding in spots), and he assured me that everything would be taken care of and 'we'd have everything in shape in the next two weeks'. Well, I'm trying to keep this family friendly, so I won't use the language I'd like to use, but suffice it to say that I've never seen him, or heard from him again. I have no idea what his issue is - maybe our money isn't green enough? I am largely discouraged by what I see in the service industry overall these days, but this guy takes the prize. He looks you right in the eye and tells you everything you want to hear. And then does ABSOLUTELY NONE of it. And doesn't even have the courtesy to return a phone call or an email. So here we are again, having to find a landscape service in the middle of the season - two years in a row without being able to fix the place up the way we want to because the basic services are so late getting done. I am appalled by Derek and his complete lack of professionalism. An 'F' is a gift - if I could rate him lower, I would. Caveat emptor!!!

He's very neat, efficient, and uses good quality products. He's very meticulous in his work.

The beginning was great, he did a very good job. When I called to start up again 6/10 I was always told he would be here, but he never showed up . Even after repeated phone calls and repeatedly being told he would be here.

This is the second time we've hired Derek to fill in while our mower is being repaired. He always, cheerfully, fits us into his busy schedule. He's very easy to work with.

Derek Schaff takes a lot of pride in his work. He does a very nice job. A couple of months ago he tore my hammock and he went out and replaced it for me.

Derek Schaff usually does a pretty good job with my lawn. However, he tends to trim too low to the ground, causing weeds and moss to grow. Then again, I am very particular and tough to work for. Overall, the work is very good, and I am satisfied with Derek Schaff.
