In the form of promotional robo-calls from Virgin Mobile that came in on my landline at 12:30, 1:30, and 3:00 in the morning. These calls have jarred me awake a total of four times on three different work nights over the past week. Of course, a middle-of-the-night phone call is always unnerving, and it takes time to fall back asleep, just in time for my usual 5:00 a.m. wake-up time. Virgin's toll-free number has an irritatingly casual recorded character who provides no instructions for getting help with this kind of problem at all. Getting a live person requires selecting an unrelated problem from their list of options. The first two "service" people I spoke to (Varyl, Joseph) each assured me that the issue had been resolved, and I would be receiving no more calls in the wee hours. They were both wrong. After the fourth incident occurred at 1:30 this morning, I spoke to another representative, who also reassured me that this time, the problem was definitely fixed. Is it, really? I guess we'll see...
