Dr. Szczotka is an excellent cat doctor, and I first brought one of my cats to her in 2009, after his radioiodine treatment for thyroid cancer at Cornell Companion Animal Hospital. She treated my 14-year-old cat wonderfully, as if he were one of her own. She is realistic about treatments and expectations, and eventually, when the time came that we could do no more for him (he had developed oral cancer nearly two years after the thyroid treatment--and by the way the thyroid treatment worked perfectly and reduced his extremely elevated thyroid levels to normal), she euthanized him in the most humane and loving way, allowing me to hold him to the end and then for as long as I wanted or needed to afterward. She's a remarkable combination of professionalism and compassion, which is probably a very tough balance to achieve. Her rates are very competitive, and she will make you and your cats feel very comfortable. I won't trust anyone else but the Cat Doctor with my feline family. Great doc and really cares about what's best for the cats! Highly recommended.

We have found the Cat and quot;Doctorand quot; (there are two veterinarians actually working there) to be highly skilled and professional. They will thoroughly answer any questions, and because they work only with cats, their knowledge of cat health issues is impressively extensive. Both Dr. Marquardt and Dr. Szotka have a warmth and a level of compassion that, while not strictly necessary, certainly are appreciated. The receptionists and other support staff are all very friendly and helpful. You can generally get an appointment quickly, depending of course on the urgency of the situation.
My only complaint about the business is that they have no voice mail. I don't understand this, since virtually all other businesses I deal with maintain a system for receiving messages and appointment requests.
The fees at the Cat Doctor are competitive and quite reasonable. I appreciate the fact that they seem capable of diagnosing problems quickly, which saves money in itself. I would (and do) recommend them to anyone looking for good feline health care.
