Jim was very professional in assessing the initial work and I appreciate his educating me on what was needed.  After scheduling, his team arrived on time and were very careful in protecting my property, A/C condensers, shrubs prior to the rip out process.  The team was methodical and planned their work according to the weather; they had to do section by section because of the occasional rainy days.  They removed any nails (via magnet) at each work area each day as well as by the dumpster in my driveway.  They did a very clean, organized and properly performed job.  Doing things the right way is paramount to me.  They replaced the flashing near my chimney, exhaust piping, etc with customized copper.  I would highly recommend White Plains Roofing for any roofing job.  I evaluated a couple of other highly rated providers (some via referrals) but White Plains Roofing is clearly the provider of choice.  Both Jim and his brother Bob were patient with my questions and I really appreciated their high customer service.

Jim the owner was directly involved from the first call through job completion.  While I was concerned my job was too small he was always attentive and communicative especially as the job needed to be rescheduled twice due to inclement weather.
He struck me like a honest, fair and decent person to do business with.
He made two trips- the first to assess the job and provide a quote and the second on the work day to make sure everything was teed up correctly for his team to execute.
They were fast and neat and professional.
While it has yet to be confirmed the roof repair has addressed the small leak we had I am confident that it has or that White Plains Roofing would keep coming back until it was right.

Jim and his team were very professional from the start to the end and managed to do the job within tight timeframe I had. Besides there was road work on my street and they were able coordinate delivery of the dumpster and materials to be on time. Everything went well and I'm happy with my new gorgeous roof. Thank you!

The owner explained everything very well and was very thorough in answering all of my questions. He was not pushy in trying to up-selling me things I didn't need. His crew was very punctual, efficient, and cleaned up well after themselves. I was very satisfied with this project and would definitely recommend their services.

We are a small HOA with 7 units in two buildings.  Second time we used them.
The job could not have gone better.  Will always use them for our other roofing  and siding needs.

The Clark brothers are extremely professional, easy to work with and happy to explain what they are doing and why.  They did the job on time and responded to questions and concerns.

Jim, Rob and team were awesome.  They're not the cheapest - we received eight quotes for the project - but Jim was the most knowledgeable of anyone we spoke with, and taught us all about the roof system as well when he described the work that needed to be done.  After working with them on this project, I'm convinced these guys are the best roofers around.  During the quoting stage, Jim (one of the co-owners) climbed up onto the roof and evaluated the entire roof (not just the area needing repairs), even going as far as to create a sketch of the roof to scale.  His quote was based on actual measurements and he walked us through all of the options available, including less expensive/short-term repairs (which he recommended against), and was transparent about the costs of materials and labor.  The work started several weeks after they had originally promised (we were told the work would be done in June but it wasn't started until August), but this was due to the fact that our roof wasn't actually leaking yet, and others' were.  We were patient and it was worth the wait.  At least 10 workers showed up at the house to complete the job on the first day, which was finished in its entirety in four work days.  I inspected the work myself at the end, and it really was/is flawless.  The team even spotted additional potential problems and fixed them for me as a part of the larger project (extra flashing on a small corner, a drip edge where there was none, and they re-hung a crooked gutter too).  Rob, the other co-owner, was on site each day and worked on the roof himself with his team.  He answered questions each day and took extra time to explain the process and materials to us whenever we asked.  Everyone was extremely pleasant and professional.  The team was also incredibly tidy with their equipment, removed all debris and trash, covered the materials at night with a tarp and I hardly knew they were here.  I haven't found a single nail or copper scrap in my yard since they left three days ago.  These are the only roofers we've used on the house so far, but we've used enough other subcontractors here to know that these guys are professional, neat and stand behind their work.  We have two more flat roofs to do next year, and I'm definitely using White Plains for them.

They were really excellent. They did the job in the time that it was supposed to be done. It was done well. There was one slight problem which came up and they came back immediately and had it all straightened out. You have to wait because they have  a lot of business, a lot of people want to deal with them. Now everybody on my block want to deal with them. It is worth the wait and money well spent. They came back to make sure everything was perfect. The price was a little high. If I had another roofing problem they are the only ones I would use.

We have experienced a wealth of contractors and subcontractors over the years, both locally and out of state.  We were referred to Jim Clark by a neighbor who had a metal roof installed several years ago. From the initial call, it was apparent that Jim was going to be our choice.  Jim is an extremely knowledgeable and professional roofing contractor. He detailed all available options for replacing our roof.  Thanks to his patience and knowledge we chose an architectural asphalt shingle with Zinc flashing and snow skirt on the front elevation of the house.
Scheduling has been spot on.  From delivery to work performed, he and his crew were punctual with absolutely no surprises.
Tear down was fast and extremely neat. At the end of each work day, the crew cleans up everything and puts left over materials away under cover.  Jim's crew are true professionals.  No wasting time, no yelling or inappropriate behavior.  They are courteous and  respectful.  Jim's metal workers do an incredible job and are true craftsmen.  Jim shows up many times to check in with both the crew and the client, never leaving any uncertainty about what happens next and the scheduling of the job.
Craftsmanship is excellent for the base layers, shingles and especially the metal work.  Although the work is not entirely completed, I anticipate the finished product to be beyond my expectations.  I would recommend Jim and his crew to anyone who would like a beautiful, professional and cost effective roof on their house.  A lot of contractors could stand to learn from Jim how to run their business and manage their client's expectations.
I did not put the cost of the job on the review as I believe these matters are subject to individual circumstances, however the job was bid to three contractors and Jim's price was well within range and expectations.  Although the positive experience returns incredible value that I am not sure we would have had with the other contractors.

We were completely satisfied. Work was complete in four days. We were promptly accommodated during a busy season.
Cleanup each day was exceptional.  Workers were  well mannered and well supervised.  Prompt response after work was completed to a minor  repair needed..   Contact with owners was cordial and supportive.  I would recommend them highly and use them again
should need arise..

The team from White Plains Roofing and Siding performed this job over the course of 2 weeks.  I was provided a timely and complete estimate for the work and my experience with James Clark was professional in all areas.
The team of workers were courteous and they keep us informed as the job progressed. Clean up at the end of each day was through.
This was a large job that involved old roof removal and proper installation of the new flat roof that involved removal of some stucco, roof repair and then replacement of the stucco. My wife and I were impressed that the crew chief was focused on delivering a finished work product that was complete and will solve our leak problems.
As with any roof, time will tell but based on the work that I was able to track on a day to day basis, we have great confidence that the leaks are gone.
I would recommend this company for roof repair, especially if you are looking to get the job done right, not just quick and cheap.  I would use them again and recommend them to my friends and neighbors. The job came in on budget as was expected.  All expectations were met by the workers.

They were the second highest in the Angie’s list and they had no complaints.  When they came in they also send somebody who was very knowledgeable about what they were actually trying to tell.  He actually went in and looked at the roof and recommended changes or possible additions and explained why he was recommending it.  So, that was what that was different about them.  They just didn’t come up say that we needed this and that, but explained why we needed it.

Jim is an outstanding, fair and friendly business owner.  This is the second time I've used his company.  Work starts exactly when promised, estimate is fair and real, price is very competitive, quality is unbeatable.  And there wasn't so much as a nail to be found anywhere on my property after he was done.  The roof is gorgeous and I'm very happy with the work.

However, within a year after the job was completed, there was a wind storm that caused the aluminium siding cover for the fascia board to be loosened. It was just danglig down the side of the house. I contacted Jim Clark to see if he could take a look at this to determine what caused this and to see if this could be fixed. Over the next 6 months, I contacted Jim Clark 3 to 4 times to see if he would look into this. He assured me that he would come over and take a look. He has never come over or contacted me during this time.

Addendum:
Jim Clark finally called me on the second day this review was posted on Angie's List. I guess he can be responsive if he wants to be. He sent his brother to take a look at the siding and Jim told me that the damage was not due to his work. I have accepted his reasoning on this matter. For a whole year I have been waiting for his call to discuss this matter. Alll I ever wanted was for him to take a look at the damage and to see (If it was not his fault) how I could resolve this situation. Angie's List is a powerful tool for me. For a whole year I didn't hear from him, then when his review appears on Angie's List, he promptly calls me. Angie's List was my only recourse and it proved to be very powerful.

Finally, I will keep my rating of White Plains Roofing at a B for the actual work, but an F rating for professionalism and responsiveness due to their lack of effort in their folllow-up.

Please think twice before using this company as they do not care or have time for issues that come up after they finish their work.
Response from White Plains Roofing & Siding Inc
"It is unfortunate that Member feels this way. The work we were contracted to do was done to his total satisfaction upon completion. We can not be held responsible for a piece of aluminum that had been on the house for 30 years which blew off in a wind storm. If a complaint had been made regarding our workmanship we would have promptly responded. We value customers like Member and regret his dissatisfaction."

We received three (3) quotes for the job.  We selected White Plains Roofing due to the enthusiastic responses from their references. Jim Clark, owner was consistently responsive, communicated very well and closely followed the progress throughout.  The foreman Gennaro was equally attentive.  Their daily clean-up was impressive.  Notwithstanding the April weather; they got the job done efficiently & the end-result was terrific.  The entire team was great. A minor issue which arose at the project conclusion was immediately handled very well.

Received written estimate from Jim Clark to replace roof and repoint chimney. After signing contract, work began a couple weeks later and took a little over a week to complete. Roofers did an excellent job - thorough, professional, reliable, neat. I chose shingles from the GAF web site. I am a very satisfied customer and highly recommend the company.

From the first day calling the office I felt they were professional and reliable. They answered all my questions without rushing me off the phone. They were prompt arriving at my house to give the initial estimate. They were about $2000.00 less in price then a few of the other estimates I received for doing the same work. Their proposal was very detail oriented and it gave me confidence that they were listening to me and that they knew exactly what needed to be done. The work was completed in the time specified and the owner gave me periodic calls to give me progress reports. The premises was left in even cleaner condition then when they started. I would definitely recommend them to someone needing a new roof.
