OK, I did NOT have to get 8 bids, but, being a public school teacher I have to watch my money. I spent several days researching Westchester, Ossining, Briarcliff Manor plumbing and heating contractors. Bruni came to the house several times, listened to us and revised the bid for replacing our old boiler system with a heat pump system. We looked into geothermal. My house was too small vendors said. The water heater needed to be replaced too. I used neighbors, Yelp, Angi's List, Google, etc. sifting through vendors and options. One recommended propane so I priced that too. I priced T. Webber, Burke, ThemoDynamix, and Carey & Walsh that my neighbor uses. Another long-term neighbor uses Bruini and Campisi I noticed. After several days of getting estimates, hearing excuses for no-shows, and late vendors I was the most comfortable with Bruni and Campisi. The price was competitive. I plan to live in this house for many years and pass it to my daughter so a maintainable, long-term confidence is important. I had heard that Bruni and Campisi has something like 24 total teams with 8 HVAC teams. My system failed while I was getting estimates. I called them at 10 p.m. they answered, called back, and scheduled next morning at 10 a.m. service. I badly needed them and they promptly came through. Bruni fixed the problem the next morning. The company that had installed the failed equipment could not come out for several days. We would have had to go to a hotel had it not been for Bruni and Campisi. I recommend them without hesitation for Westchester plumbing and heating and air conditioning HVAC work.

Technician came to perform yearly maintenance. Said everything was operational. 1.5 weeks later, system gets turned on for first time, furnace doesn't light. So I call and am told they'd have to schedule a service call for minimum $90 because they don't guarantee their tune-up work. I get it--time is money. I tell them if I schedule a service call and someone comes out and needs to fix something that broke mysteriously in the 1.5 weeks the furnace was sitting dormant since the maintenance call, I'll pay it. But if someone comes and makes a small adjustment that should have been done by the maintenance person, I don't think I should be charged. Nope. Company policy is minimum cost is $90, and they don't guarantee their tune-up work. Why would I use anyone that doesn't guarantee their work?

I had many A/C and heating repair men come and go, but I now have a contract with Bruni & Campisi and have been satisfactorily using them for the last 7 years. They installed a new central A/C unit in my home as well and replaced the furnace and hot water system. They did a great job with the installation and has been maintaining it so far. I will recommend them to anyone.

Critical: Value I have used Bruni and Campisi in the past and found them fairly reliable. This week, the temperature in my house was much lower than the rooms thermostats were set qt. I called the company, who offered to send a technician who was in my neighborhood to check my water heater. I was told that the visit would cost $89. I expected thatvthe technician, in a visual inspection, would, at least, check if the heater at least was on and set for the right temperature. Then, the technician would present me with a quote for the necessary repair. If I wanted to contract the service, the $89 charge would not apply. When the technician arrived and saw the water heater, in less than one minute, without checking anything, he told me that he needed to run a diagnostic that would cost me $420 plus taxes, not the $89 I believed would cost to give me a quote for the service. The house was very cold, and I had no other choice but to agree to pay for the diagnostic. I observed the technician for several minutes. He requested the equipment manual and started to read it. It was absolutely clear to me that he had zero familiarity with the equipment. After almost two hours, he said that the problem was that the dial to adjust the temperature of the water heater was set for 140 degrees, and it should be at 180 degrees, because of the cold weather. He reported that he had just adjusted the temperature dial, and all should be OK now. Therefore, the problem was just the temperature set, something that should probably be very first thing he should have checked when he arrived at my house. In the end, with taxes, I was billed $455 and change for a clueless technician to turn a temperature dial. Literally, a two-seconds job. It took him nearly two hours and a lot of manual reading to realize that this was all he needed to do. I am really disappointed with Bruni and mpisi for sending me a technician unfamiliar with the equipment he was servicing and charging me almost five hundred dollars for, literally, a two-second job. I was charged an outrageous fee, solely because the Bruni and Campisi’s technician failed to check the temperature set in the dial of the water heater when he arrived. This dial with the water temperature information is completely visible, and the technician should have checked first thing and just charged me the $89 visit. By the way, the 140 degrees temp was set by a Bruni and Campis technician who had recently done the equipment maintenance to prepare it for the winter. Service: Repair water heater

We reviewed Angi's List reviews, talked with Realtors, and neighbors. Invited 13 to see existing system. 8 sent proposals. And . . . drum roll . . . the winner is Mario Bruni of Bruni Campisi. He carefully evaluated my systems, visited and measured 3-4 times, and got the bid. We needed a water heater too.

Horrible. They charged $195 to come to house to tell us to turn off the A/C and let the coils defrost. They said no diagnostics could be done until the coils were defrosted and that it would be $90 more plus the cost of the diagnostic. Ripoff artists...$195 to tell us to turn off the A/C. We were quite the marks. Don't be one as well

While Bruni & Campisi (B&C) generally provides high quality work that justifies its relatively high prices, and generally treats its customers well, I am very disappointed by my most recent experience and hope it doesn't reflect a change in the quality and professionalism of the company's work and its treatment of customers. On Thursday, April 25, B&C was scheduled to come to my house between 8-12 for our annual AC tune-up. Mid-morning I called to say that I was outside in the back and asked for an update to the appointment time to make sure B&C could find me if I didn't hear the doorbell. I was told the serviceman was in the neighboring town and I was next on the list. Around noon I started calling to find out why nobody had showed up for the tune-up. After a few calls, it turned out the schedule hadn't been followed, something had happened (?), and the dispatcher send somebody else. Bad start, somewhat irritating, but not a big deal. When my system was tuned up the serviceman found a blown fuse, which he replaced, noting that he did not find a cause for the blown secondary fuse. The weather became substantially cooler and on Sunday morning we realized we had no heat (two days after having had the tune-up and the fuse replaced). B&C came out, did some troubleshooting, and found a shorted out solenoid valve and PC board in the humidifier. The fuse was replaced for $343.60, apparently because it was an emergency call, even though Sunday was the first time I had used heat since the service less than three days earlier. The serviceman dismissed my complaint with the comment that everybody complains about high bills. I explained that I didn't complain about the $1,043.69 bill for work done in January of this year nor the additional $365.08 for work on the humidifier hose and pad in February. (Yes, the same humidifier with the short that was just repaired.) My complaint was that I had no heat less than three days after a service call and repair and I was being charged for an emergency call. The serviceman called his office, which said I had to pay for the emergency call. I had no idea who he spoke to on a weekend, asked the serviceman to have someone at this office get back to me, and he agreed to do so. He didn't. I sent a reminder note and he didn't respond. I sent another note indicating he had ignored my earlier note. He ignored that too. I'm giving up on hearing back from B&C on this issue. I'm left wondering why the underlying fuse problem wasn't addressed when the fuse was first replaced on April 25 (the trouble shooting could have been done then), why I was charged for an emergency call when the heating didn't work the first time I used it after the April 25 service, and why B&C isn't responding to a legitimate question about its charges.

I called for weekend emergency service and the tech came in time as promised. Everything went downhill from there. I was told I needed a flame out switch and to check with the office on Monday as to the part’s availability. I called several times over 3 straight days and no one knew anything. I finally called another company to replace the part and do the repair. They got the part and were there to fix the furnace within 24 hours. That was 3 weeks ago. The other day a tech from Bruni + Campisi called me at 8am saying he was outside, ready to fix the furnace. Then yesterday, someone from the office called wanting to schedule an appointment to replace the switch. LOL. Are these people for real? I can’t imagine how they’re still in business.

Bruni & Campisi did a great job on our energy efficiency upgrade project. We were referred to them when the other contractor we had hired suddenly went out of business, and they sent us to these guys. I was obviously unhappy with our situation, but Bruni and Campisi made sure that everything went smoothly once they were on board. Vincent was easy to reach, responsive, and explained everything thoroughly (he even provided helpful advice on another HVAC project that we already had under contract with a different company). The technicians that did the work, Sait and Tony, were very knowledgable and friendly. I was really impressed with how neat and tidy they were; they didn't leave a speck of dirt or debris in the house after they finished work each day. I would hire Bruni & Campisi again.

Hello Keith: I want to compliment you and your team for the most efficient home air conditioning replacement job I could have imagined. From the original bid you submitted with options for us to choose from, to the fact that within 24 hours of accepting the bid you had submitted the permits and you had the equipment in place and functioning, it could not have gone more smoothly. Your two installers, Jermaine and Aman, went above and beyond to make sure that they reorganized the wiring, refabricated the ductwork, and left the work area spotless. They were committed to getting our new system up and running before the the end of the day and even though that was well into the evening hours, they got it done. And they worked in brutal heat ! In all, we could not be more pleased! I would recommend Bruni and Campisi to anyone without reservation. Thank you. Neil

As new home owners with our first leak, we were a bit panicked and didn't know where to turn but Bruni & Campisi were wonderful. Our technician Jack was very professional, arriving quickly and was very helpful in finding the leak in our bathroom. He even answered some other questions we had in regards to plumbing. We will be using Bruni & Campisi for all our plumbing needs going forward! Thanks again, Jack!

Five times NO-SHOWS. I always call to confirm and even then, no one showed up. They never called. When I called the next day, they claimed that they had called. I never received any call or message. My phone has a log of everything and no one called or sent an e mail. The worst part of this was that they were totally unconcerned. When I finally told them do not bother to reschedule because no one ever shows up, they did not care. Horrible customer service! Terrible attitude.

"Good morning [Member Name Removed] my name is Jeff Rivera I'm the service manager for Bruni and Campisi. I'm saddened to read about your experience and would like to discuss this further if you would be willing. While mistakes can and will happen this seems to be failure on a number of levels and I think we can certainly learn from it moving forward. Please let me know the best way to reach you. Thank you for your feedback. Jeff."

They were rude, unprofessional, overpriced, took over a week to get basic parts and were un-responsive and late.
Response from Bruni & Campisi
"We understand this customer's disappointment. Unfortunately, due to complications with our parcel service, we were unable to get the parts necessary to repair this customer's heating system in a timely manner. We strive to service our customers with speed and have come up short in that regard. In this instance, this customer did not dispute price in the initial estimate provided by the technician and we were unaware that this was an issue. We continuously train our Customer Service Representatives to interact with our customers politely and with the utmost professionalism. We encourage you to please contact our Customer Service Manager, Jeffrey Rivera, at 914-946-5558 ext. 114, in regards to your experience. Thank you for your review."

Great ! Devante Layne secured all the vents and made sure that areas were air-tight and properly covered to assure that insulation could not leak out of ceiling. In addition he covered any areas that needed to be re-secured. Devante then proceeded to clean up and leave my basement as clean as he found it. I was very pleased with the work, professionalism and work ethic. Francine Bernard

The installation process lasted 3 full working days. The technicians on the job, Joe and Julian, were very professional and worked diligently until everything was properly tested and working flawlessly. Joe made sure to explain every step of the installation process to me very carefully and would answer all the questions that I had in a thoughtful and patient manner. When we realized that the fresh air intake was not included in the work order, Joe helped to resolve the issue with his superiors in a very professional manner.

The replacement didn't work. I asked them for a refund. They said that they would only issue a refund for the part if I go with them to buy a new unit. I was very disappointed and will no longer do business with them.
Response from Bruni & Campisi
"Upon discovering the issue with this customer's equipment, we highly recommended replacement as we were doubtful that a repair would work. This customer insisted upon a repair, against our recommendation, which we then provided. As we predicted, the repair did not work. We then offered to apply the cost of the repair towards the purchase of a new system. This customer declined and indicated that she wished to take her business elsewhere. We never want to disappoint our customers, it is unfortunate that we could not resolve this issue but that is not for a lack of trying."
