A 3rd generation, family owned business, our mission is the maintenance and care of the health and beauty of trees and shrubs. We are an international organization, with offices in Canada, England and Ireland. Our Research Laboratories advises us about the latest technological advances in arboriculture and assists our arborists with training updates. Typically we write a review when we want to warn others of our poor experience and brag to everyone via word of mouth when we praise someone?s great work. I joined Angie?s List a few months ago and decided I should contribute and give my feedback if I expect the same in return.
Mike from Bartlett inspected a pin oak tree which was just touching my garage roof?s edge. I didn?t want to cut it down because in it?s absence I would have even less shade in my already too sunny backyard. Mike gave me other options to keep the tree but warned me that it was a matter of time before the tree would damage the roof / garage and that it would be a process of monitoring the tree?s growth. I asked him questions about other trees and shrubs and he happily shared his information. He is a Certified Arborist. I decided to remove the tree.
Mike and his workers arrived when promised and completed the job within the predicted time frame. They cleaned up so well that you would never know that a 50 foot tree was cut down earlier that day.
Bartlett?s crew were polite, professional and the price was fair.

The team arrived promptly and went straight to work. They took down a large tree that was close to my house in sections and removed the debris. They raked my yard to pick up the small pieces and swept the street where the chipper was, They were professional and courteous.

Trevor arrived punctually for the estimate. He was very knowledgeable about how I should go about pruning the trees given my concern that young branches were breaking off and damaging my neighbors property. We discussed how his men would access my rear yard and complete the work. He sent me a price via email within a day or so along with a contract. His price was extremely competitive. The crew arrived as scheduled. They were very professional and cleaned up after chipping the debris. I would definitely use them again.

So far, so good. I hope it's going to be like that the entire time. They are very professional and quick. It's easy to communicate with them. They're always available. The pricing is fair. If everything will be fine, I would use them again for sure.

With the first property involving the power lines, I am satisfied with the trimming. They trimmed it so it was no longer a danger.
On the other property, they removed one tree. Clean-up was good. We did end up having someone else grind the stump. They also installed 10 bushes. They did this at a different time.
Their pricing was competitive. They know what they are talking about when it comes to trees.

Everything is pre-scheduled and they let me know when they are coming. They have been doing work for me for years. They are very professional. They have certain things they do at certain times of the year.

I have used this company before for tree service. They were pretty good about scheduling. They used bucket cranes to reach the top of the trees, so it was very involved. It took them the better part of the day to finish the work.

Prompt, knowledgeable service. I'm sure you could find cheaper prices, but I would be concerned about how knowledgeable they were. There is a lot of hucksterism in tree services.

I requested the service using the local office's website online. I heard nothing back from the office so I called them in turn. I mentioned that I had requested the service online with no reply and the agent said, "oh." We arranged a schedule for an arborist to visit the home and evaluate the tree. The day of the requested service, the company called and asked if they could come three hours after the arranged time. When the arborist arrived, he looked at the tree for about 5 minutes and said it was structurally sound and nothing needed to be done (the tree is a 40+ year old blue spruce about 60-70 feet high). He said he saw everything he needed to see wrt the trunk, canopy and roots to make his evaluation. We told him that several nearby neighbors were concerned since the tree was so tall and a recent storm had damaged many trees in the neighborhood. He understood the concern and said we could take some steps that may mitigate the chances it would fail (reduction, selectively remove some branches) or have it completely removed if we chose to. He said that--other than taking it down--these steps could bring peace of mind but wouldn't change the risk of the tree failing by much, if at all. He agreed to provide us with quotes for reduction; removing some branches and even complete removal. We asked if he could include in the estimate remarks to summarize his evaluation of the tree; he agreed.
We never received any correspondence from him after that day. About two weeks later, the tree fell in a storm and damaged the neighbors roof and the fence between the two yards. We have still not heard from this company and we did leave a follow-on voice mail for the arborist.
It is hard for me to fathom worse service in this case.

Bartlett Tree Experts came in again this second time and they were great. I last used their services a couple of months ago. I hired them to take down a tree. They are very efficient. I would highly recommend them. I think their charge was reasonable for what they did. What I liked about them is that they were very prompt, they were efficient, they cleaned up and I had no problem after that. Their representative that came was very personable, very knowledgeable, and very pleasant to work with. I would like to give them a very high rating.

I was impressed with the level of knowledge demonstrated. It was difficult to get an appointment, but I've found this to be the case

When needed for storm damage removal they called in their experts to
determine the best way to remove an oak tree that was approximitely
80 feet tall and between neighbor's homes.
They did a great job.! All the slabs of the trunk were removed and they
cleaned up very well afterwards.

It went fine. They are very professional, responsive, and do quality work. I called them, asked them to look at tree damage. They came out and submitted a proposal for a two-pronged proposal. One injection to be done in the fall, the other in the spring. Everything went well.

I do trees only every three years. They are very good. I have been using them for many years and they have been very good about tracking the health of trees and keeping an eye on things. They are very fair and honest. Once they develop a relationship with you they actually really care about what they are doing. They don’t cut stuffs just to show that they are doing something. Lot of companies come in and they really don’t know what they are doing, take off light branches just to make it look like that they are doing something and they don’t necessarily look for the shape of the tree or how it is going to get sunlight but Bartlett Tree Experts give tree treatment. I felt that their price is competitive especially if they know that I am looking out for some other companies, they’ll take that into consideration. They come in scope the job out, approach you and there is multiple ways of going. They can come in and quote for the job that they are doing or flat rate for the day which can come out cheaper. Then they can take the whole day and they clean out very well. They bring in a truck to chip the branches down and if you want it back they will give it back to you but I never do. They are busy. They are there when they say they are going to be there. They are very nice.

The Bartlett Tree Experts rep was very responsive, returning our call, coming out to give an estimate, and scheduling the work within two weeks, which was fantastic since I finally gave up on my last tree service who kept stringing me along that they were going to do the work for four months. The reps are available by email once they come out for an estimate, which is fantastic. The advice and options we were given were thorough and knowledgeable, and the prices were great as well (cheaper than the place that made me wait). Very much worth the cost. The work crew did the work, didn't damage other plants, and cleaned up all debris, and were pleasant and courteous as well.
