This is an update to my review. Don't take their programmed were going to help you responses, and give up after they lie and put you off continuously. I filed a small claims action, that got their legal dept. involved. That was a week and a half ago. I received a ful refund in the mail yesterday, and canceled my case, this coming Monday. It's a shame that's what it takes. Best 15 dollars I ever spent.

One star is ten to many! Horrible company. The product didn't work. Multiple system failures, a camera that never worked. Their call center, the one that's supposed to call the police, didn't call the police when the alarm went off. They promised a full refund, never happened. They block their numbers when calling, will not provide an email, won't put anything in writing. Frauds!!!!!!! Their system is in a garbage bag, I had it removed when a new company installed a new system early this month. The new company is local, and everything works. I have a pending lawsuit scheduled for next month against ADT. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.....EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ADT has called me between 2am and 3am THREE times over the past two weeks to tell me that the motion detector alarm and kitchen door alarm at my second home (which is an hour and a half from my primary home) is going off. In each instance, they have sent the local police and there has been no actual issue.

Each time this has happened, I've been required to spend at least an hour on the phone in subsequent calls with their representatives trying to get them to arrange for someone to come out and promptly repair the defective equipment. And since I have the kind of job where I can not miss work Monday through Friday from 12-5 to wait on an ADT technician, they've offered me Saturday appointment times that are more than 2 weeks from the date of each of these instances.

At the same time, the equipment they installed in my primary home starts beeping in the middle of the night because of some type of "communication failure" between their equipment and WiFi, and they've been unable to fix the issue. Again, they're offering five hour windows on week days to have someone show up to fix their defective equipment. They declined to issue any kind of refund or credit for all of the inconvenience they've cause (THREE 2am calls about someone breaking into my home, when the real issue is their defective equipment), and they definitely don't seem to value anyone's time but their own--- certainly not that of the police officers who have to respond to these false alarms, and certainly not mine in connection with having to give them 2 five hour windows on my days off so that they can fix equipment that (in the case of my primary home) they just put in last year.

At bottom, I work five days a week, value the security of my home and expect to only be woken up in the middle of the night if there is an actual issue, so this is a horrendous situation.

Despite having a service contract calls everyday made over the past week have not been successful in obtaining a scheduled service visit. Typical wait times are 30 minutes plus. Unable to reach an supervisory personnel. This is not the first time we've had difficulty in reaching ADT service for scheduling appointments.  Note that ADT has a proprietary motherboard so its difficult to find alternative service providers using installed ADT equipment that's been purchased. Heartily recommend using an alternative alarm service.

We have used ADT since 12/2000 as it was the only game in town and the system came with purchased home.  Service was adequate, support from Elmsfor office was spotty with turnovers in office frequently.  We have upgraded system though-out the years and are paying for maintenance on the equipment.  Until the last service call, at least the service was adequate. 
We called ADT 800 number to report a battery low message.  After testing system remotely and despite we have on-site maintenance, they sent us batteries and told us to replace them ourselves.  They sent the wrong size batteries.  When we called back with news, they arranged for the July 3rd service call.  Service Tech arrived, confirmed battery low signal but did not have correct size batteries.  He told us to call the 800 number again. 
We have also wanted to upgrade to the ADT pulse system but the Elmsford office last appointment was a no call, no show.  July 7th we arranged for Slomin's Shield to give us a site visit and quote.  We are tired of ADT.

They are new.  They have the ability to do the whole video surveillance on our ipad.  It is a very generic company; they are not great on customer service.  I probably wouldn't recommend them.

The guys who set it up were subcontractors and they messed up the job. Somebody had to come back out to redo it and they did it the right way.

ADT had the policemen here within minutes. They were very quick to respond to our alarm. It's good to know that this protection is out there for us. We pay them a quarterly fee that I think is very reasonable.

I had no complaints with ADT. They were fine to me. I never had any false alarms or anything like that and they provided me with the service they were supposed to. I guess that would indicate I am relatively happy with them.

We had a bad fire. We didn't have a wired smoke alarm though. When I called ADT after the fire to redo my system, it took forever for someone to come over and then he told me I needed a salesmen. The salesmen came over and said I needed a technician. I canceled my service with them at that point. I said enough is enough. I had to fight with them to stop billing me after my fire for a ridiculous amount of time. They were just worried about getting money and making a new sales pitch to us to get us to use them again. Customer service with them was horrible. It was horrendous. I'd never use them again. I am happy to have since found a company that better meets both our needs and standards.

I was cleaning and used an air freshener and well, the fire alarm was set off. Fire trucks were here in no time because of ADT, so I can tell you from first hand experience they are responsive. There is no question about that. That is what I want in an alarm service company though, so I am absolutely pleased with ADT.

ADT is pretty universal and flexible. I have never had a break in so I guess they do their job for me. Their prices are pretty decent. I didn't find another company in this area that did all the stuff they did but charged any less. I have no problems to report with them at all really.
