Merry Maids of Elmira Heights

They were more expensive than other competitors. Their work was good. They got enough people and finished the work on time. I have no other complains except the cost. I would use them in the future but not willingly or quickly.

I hired Merry Maids to clean my home to get it ready to be put on the market to sell. Frist, the prices were astronomical: over $600 to clean my home and $340 to clean my windows (I was able to find a window cleaning service that did the job for less than $200). I ended up hiring them to do just part of my home because of a time issue (family rm, kitchen, living and dining rms, 1/2 bath and stairs) and still paid close to $500 even though they only cleaned half my home. They arrived 2 hours late with no explanation or apology. Each time I called the company to ask why the team was not on time, the woman would just say they are on their way or they will be there in 10 minutes--very unconcerned and unprofessional. They did not do a good job on my floors, which still had many stains on them after they left. The representative told me they would wash my floors, I don't think they did that at all, they just cleaned with a damp rag or something. The little shower on my kitchen sink sometimes gets stuck and one of them must have turned it on and had it get stuck but instead of telling me, they left it that way resulting in me gettting sprayed the next time I turned the water on. My realtor was supposed to come take pictures of the house and as a result of the cleaning people being two hours late was unable to do her job and will have to make a second trip. In addition, I had to have one of them come back as they were about to leave because my family room floor was clearly not swept properly. I had always heard negative things about this company but decided to give it a try because I did not have time to comparison shop; turns out everything negative was true. I will never use them again and do not recommend them to anyone.
