The tires are a little expensive but that is the going rate. They ran a little long but they are professional. I would use them to change the tires but if it's something else I would go else where. They workers were okay.

Kost Tire gives good, inexpensive oil changes and, with a coupon, half price NY State inspections. But, according to my experience, if your car won't pass inspection, the Kost's cost for repairs can be well above average. I paid about $90 for a diagnosis concerning why the backup lights didn't work, and another $60 labor to run a new ground wire, plus tax. Both of these procedures together took about 45 minutes. I counted the time from when I was told about the malfunctioning backup lights to when the car was finished. Even allowing $10 for the cost of the ground wire, $140 for 45 minutes of work is $186.67 per hour, which is more than double the regional average hourly rate for auto repair. Suggestion: If you use Kost's 50% off NY State inspection coupon, go early in the month that your car is due, so if your car doesn't pass, you'll have time to get comparison quotes for repairs.

The oil change was a great deal, as I had a coupon. I really like the staff (very friendly and helpful) and the location is convenient. They have TV, magazines and coffee in their waiting room. I had an appointment, but the wait was still relatively long.







Because the service included a free tire rotation, they (of course) checked the brakes. They came out with a print-out showing that I definitely needed my brakes replaced soon, along with what they'd charge for the service. As I have not had any problems with my brakes, and the car had passed inspection a few months earlier, I declined the brake job. I know that getting a list of and quot;neededand quot; repairs just comes with the territory of getting an oil change at a chain store...
