We have 2 cars and we usually get them serviced on the same day. They're very good. Dealerships in the 1980's used to be absolutely horrible. That's when I came to Syracuse. They're now all very good. We also use another company and the prices are basically the same for all the dealerships. When I compare prices on the phone they are about the same. They tell you listen we're gonna tell you everything that might be wrong with your car. In New York your car has to pass an annual inspection so we're gonna tell you what items are important for your annual inspection and which items you might want to take care of other than that. They give recommendations and they take time with you.  You feel very safe coming out of there that they have actually looked at everything on your car.  They usually take your car within one or two days.

Because of a serious illness I was unable to drive the car myself. The second occurrence happened when a friend tried to use my car to bring me home from the hospital. After I got home I called Romano Toyota and arranged to have the car towed in by AAA. I also scheduled an oil change and filter. The car was brought to the dealer 7/22. They did the oil change and filter but were unable to duplicate the problem. Because I couldn't drive and I had to arrange for someone else to pick it up the car ended up being there until
8/12. During that time they called several times to tell me about the efforts they made to find the problem and they made sure the battery stayed charged. The oil change and filter cost a few dollars more than at the tire centers but I feel that they went above and beyond and there was no problem when my sister picked up the car and used my credit card to pay the bill. I had told them that she would be coming.
Although I wasn't there this time I have been to the dealer before and should point out that they are always polite and professional.
The waiting area is very comfortable with TV WiFi and snacks.

I purchased a new Toyota at Romano. The price of the new vehicle includes two years of free maintenance service. So far I've brought the car in for its 5000 and 10000 maintenance. The service department personal are courteous and professional and they process the incoming vehicle quickly. They also go over all that they plan to do and give an estimate of how long it will take. The waiting room is pleasant and is stocked with free snacks, water, coffee and soft drinks. When the car is ready they come for me and the cashier window is right next to the waiting room. So far I've only had the free maintenance service done there. I've looked at their prices and they appear to be in the usual dealer range. They do not wash the car after the service as some dealers do. Their location is not as convenient for me as are other service locations I've used so I may not continue to use this dealer for scheduled maintenance after the free two years are up.

We have two Toyotas, one bought at Romano and one bought elsewhere. We went to Romano for warranty service for both after some dissatisfaction with the other's service department. Romano has generally done a good job. But their estimates are routinely about 50% higher than that of our usual non-dealership mechanic, and they've claimed work needed to be done which our regular mechanic did not agree with. However we recently had a problem with an A/C compressor on our Prius. It being tied into the hybrid battery high voltage system our regular mechanic was not able to do the work and we took it to Romano. Repairs were done in a few hours and everything's been fine since.

They didn't charge me anything for that. It's covered. It was a good experience. They took care of everything. They were thorough. Their pricing is good. I would use them in the future.

First the service department. They are professional and courteous. However, even though all of my maintenance is performed by them they are not attentive to dates of expiration (registration sticker) and (inspection sticker). Just this past year I received a ticket for an expired registration sticker 3 days after having a service and tune up at the shop. I did not notice the expiration - my fault, and my excuse, just had surgery, however they did not notice it either, or appraise of the need to take care of the registration. This happened one time before with my NYS inspection sticker. In both cases it cost me a fine. Annoying but not fatal.
The auto body shop associated with the dealer, is, in my opinion a disaster. The work is sloppy. They do the bare minimum. So why did I use them? They are a State Farm repair shop, so it is convenient. You drop off the car, they do the appraisal, they do the paper work with State Farm, they are paid directly except for the deductible. The convenience of using them is not worth it. The repairs are performed correctly, but nothing is done above and beyond what is called for, not even a basic wash and wax, or interior quick cleaning. My recent experience included them returning my ignition key so bent that it was hard to get it to turn in the ignition. Since I picked up my vehicle after the shop had closed (the cashier was still there) I drove home using my extra key, and had to return on another day to have them and quot;unbendand quot; the key. Since they had also not bothered to even wash my car I complained at that time and they did wash it.
Overall I think the quality of the service from this dealer has declined. Both my husband and I have used them exclusively (he has a Prius, I have an Avalon) - and the guys at the counter could not be nicer and more helpful. But it has become a very sloppy operation.
That said, I can not recommend them, except with reservations. I will still have them perform my oil changes - and any warranty work, but that is about it. Off of warranty I will go to a private shop such as Fehlmann Brothers in Syracuse, and Frederico's Auto Body also in Syracuse.

They are professional. They always tell me all the information I need when I get something checked out. They are very thorough. They are always on time. Most times I will wait and they have it done in a relatively short period of time.

I've used them for two and a half years, with maybe a dozen visits. I've revised my prior good review to reflect multiple poor experiences since then. They are quick to push unnecessary procedures with vague and misleading information, and avoid responsibility for faults whenever possible. They also charge much more than independent shops for routine work (like oil changes).

I would not recommend them.

I called them in advance on a Thursday, said I wanted to bring it in the next day, leave it overnight. I asked, could I talk to their lead tech, because I had a lot of concerns about the car. I had previously been to Romano's cross-town Toyota dealer rival, and they had tried to upsell me an expensive and complicated procedure that i thought was not necessary. I wanted the tech to eyeball the problem and talk to me about it before I agreed to anything. The tensioner bold had been sheared clean off at the top, and the serpentine belt needed replacing - problem was, an intact tensioner bolt was necessary to do the serpentine belt operation. So the whole assembly had to be replaced. I had been told it was 5-6 hours' labor. When I got there, the tech (John) took a look at it and said he thought he could do it in 2-2.5, saving me a good $400 in unnecessary labor costs. He then accompanied me on a very lengthy road test to diagnose sluggishness and nasty pinging and rattling sounds. I left the car with him at about 3-3:30 in the afternoon, and either later that afternoon, or maybe early the next morning (I think it was later that same day) called me with the bad news -- new power steering pump needed. On the plus side, he told me I did NOT need to replace both the O2 and the mass airflow sensors (as I had feared), just one. He matched my best estimate for the valve cover gasket, gave me a decent price on the tensioner and serpentine belt (I had actually gotten estimates $100 or so lower at other places, but all things considered, it was worth the extra to have it done at Toyota... besides, the $520 or so he estimated was WAY better than the $900+ the other Toyota dealer in town wanted to charge me). The price he charged me for the sensor I thought was way too high, to be honest, but for all the stuff they did, added together, John (a different John, I think this one was actually a "Romano") looked at all the stuff I was having them do, and he took off 10% even though I didn't have a coupon. So it actually, in the end, ended up being around what I was hoping to pay, PLUS I got the work done actually at Toyota, instead of a Firestone, GoodYear or Monro-type place, where the price would have been around the same, and (based on prior experiences) I would have possibly suspected the quality of the work. John got it all done by early afternoon the next day, and I came in on Saturday to pick it up. My only real annoyance about the experience was that I talked to them on the phone in the afternoon the day of the pick-up, and told them I'd be in shortly, and I wanted to have the chance to ask the tech a question or three. No one thought to tell me that they closed early on Saturdays, and when I got there, less than an hour after I called, the service area was shut up tight and everyone had gone home, so I never got to do my debrief. I paid, and drove off kind of annoyed. That said, my '04 Camry had well over 170K miles on it, and it had been running rough, but the car drove like brand spanking new when I left Romano. Like night and day. And now, a month later, it STILL feels great and rides really smooth. I'd rather give them an A- than a B, but a B ain't bad. And they did do great work, and both Johns were nice guys. Especially John the service guy -- really helpful, knowledgeable and patient.

As I said above, it was an excellent experience. There were one or two moments of high pressure tactics, but these were pretty transparent and didn't affect my decision.

John or Joe (can't remember which one) Romano was very courteous and professional. Every time we have the car serviced we are pleased with the results. The waiting room chairs could be a little more comfortable but that's a detail. Very satisfied with Romano Toyota service.

I had a very good experience with the salesman. I went in looking for a particular salesman that day and he was off work. The salesman who helped me was willing to hand the deal off to the salesman I was looking for, but I stuck with him because he was very accommodating and easy to work with. I had researched everything, so I could bargain. All though I did not get a tremendous deal, I got a deal I was satisfied with. I found the salesman to be flexible and to be very nice. When I have gone in for service, I have found them to be courteous and pleasant. There is a tire-pressure sensor on the RAV4, and my indicator light was on. It also monitors the spare tire, and I could not get the cover off of the tire. They told me to come in, and they fixed it for me and checked the air in all of my tires. There was no charge for that service. They have excellent hours and an excellent waiting area. They have coffee and snacks in the waiting area. They also offer television and free wifi. I have referred anyone looking for a Toyota to them.

It is always positive working with them. It is a good company to deal with. All their customer service reps are knowledgeable and they know what they are talking about. The estimates are always reasonable. They are never digging for that taillight or magical license plate light that is out. They are very reliable and it is easy to set up an appointment on their website. Stuff is fixed on time. I've never had to take anything back that was fixed. I will definitely continue to use them.

I began with emails for general questions. Sales were quick to respond with the information requested. Then started to stop in to test drive, salesmen were not pushy; they were very friendly and knowledgeable. They worked with me on price, both my trade and purchase were fair market value. They had everything ready when I came to pick up my vehicle, and the whole process went very smoothly.

I have had mixed experiences with them. I believe they recommend services that are unnecessary. I do not find this to be a trustworthy service provider. It is hard sometimes to find available times to take your car in. I now drive out of my way to use another service shop.
