He accommodated my schedule. His workmen were quiet, efficient and neat. Tom himself replaced the spiral balances. He's a very nice guy. Honest, reliable and reasonable, goes out of his way to make sure things are done right. I would gladly hire him again.

Tom (owner/manager) coordinated with company that installed windows so all work proceeded in timely manner, making it easier for us as homeowners, as well as preventing unnecessary weather exposure.
The 3 man crew, with Bill in charge, worked very well together. They cleaned up EVERY day and were very sensitive to home owner's input (closed gates with every trip in case Frankie the dog was out in the yard, kept radio at low volume and asked first to use it, kept driveway clear for home owner's use, NO bad language and always very pleasant).
Owner, Tom, was on site nearly every day to check on work and he and Bill communicated by phone in between visits. Tom also checked with homeowner frequently and was happy to address any concerns.
Impressive to me was an act of kindness regarding 2 active bird nests in old attic vent which needed to be covered. These guys built a little platform, placed it in a nearby Yew tree, then moved the nests to their new home! The parents of the birds soon followed and all was well. I don't know how many workers would have taken that extra step...or even cared! but these guys did. Great job.
Bill and his crew worked all day ...no lengthy breaks, always on site, always on time. They were quick to describe how the siding, insulating process worked, how pieces fit together, how the cutting machine worked or whatever this inquisitive home owner asked them, and always consulted me when there was a questionable issue.
I thought these guys were great and would certainly recommend them.

the estimate was done within 24 hours of request. The job was scheduled promptly, the crew arrived on time every day and cleaned up after themselves before leaving. The attention to detail and professionalism is excellent

From all the estimates and presentations, Merrimac, Tom McAllister, was the best. He was direct, quick, and knows the product.He told us it would be installed in mid June. He told us when our product arrived. He called to install the first week in June.The installers, Bill, Chad, and David were very sure to get all the windows and doors in correctly. Cleaned up after each day, and overall made sure we were satisfied with results. We were and are very pleased. Tom McAllister, the owner, came each day to check with us and on the progress and if we were happy with the product, and the installation. I would recommend this company over all the others in the Syracuse.

They started the job at the end of November and completed it in approximately three weeks time. The weather conditions were horrible during this period ..... heavy rain, then snow and temperatures in the teens and low twenties. The crew missed only two days. They did a great job. They had to wait until spring to install the gutters.

They were excellent. They were very prompt. The owner is very responsive to your questions or concerns. They are clean and very nice.

They were really helpful in giving me suggestions. I was doing renovations at the time and they helped me out with other things that they weren't contracted to do. I would use them again in the future.

The motto of this company is "a new home at the same address" and that is exactly what I have. I went from a house with peeling paint and deteriorated clapboards to a house with the look of cedar shakes. Tom, the owner, suggested I put green trim around the windows and that made the windows look so much better it is like I have new windows too. Friends and family cannot believe the difference in the house. The job took a little over two weeks, and the crew picked up every day so my yard was left in proper order. Tom was always available for my questions and the crew did excellent work. This is the third time I have used Merrimac for home improvement projects and I would not hesitate to use them again. An outstanding company to do business with.

Tom McAllister was one of several roofing contractors I met with before I settled on Merrimac to do my roof. I found him knowledgeable and very pleasant to deal with. Honesty seemed to be a major characteristic. Although his was not the lowest estimate, I received (I had one estimate that was slightly lower, although they were not going to do comparable work), I felt that Tom's crew would do a better job. There was also a discount for being referred from Angie's List. My conversations with folks who had had their roofs done by Merrimac (Tom gave me a 4-page list) indicated that others had had great experiences as well. Tom committed to doing the roof job within the estimate (he did) and to make repairs not in the estimate if they were part of the overall roofing job (there were none). He also informed me of the fact that his crew would be covered for accidents and workman's comp under his policy, not under my homeowners' policy (nothing happened to test that coverage). As an opening developed, the roof work began sooner than was originally estimated. Because of rain and some early snow, the whole job took 4 days to complete (they couldn't work safely in freezing rain, understandably). The crew were friendly, polite, neat and cleaned the area up daily and after the job was over. The roof looks great and I'm very pleased with the job. I recommend Merrimac and will certainly use them again if I need to do so.

I was extremely happy with the work. they were polite, efficient, cleaned up everyday when finished, listened to my every request and handled the job with professionalism. Tom, the owner, was there everyday checking it out and doing whatever was required to make my porch what I wanted it to be. there are pictures below but only wish I could have uploaded all of the before and after pictures. The amount was a little higher than originally quoted only because I added on as we went along.

I was very impressed with this company right from the beginning. When Tom came out to give me the estimate he spent almost two hours with me. He walked the roof to take measurements and also took pictures to illustrate what I needed done around the chimney. He explained how a roof should be ventilated and what I needed to have done to improve the ventilation of my roof. He answered all of my questions and when he left I had a much better understanding of what was involved in replacing a roof and what was important to have done. There was no pressure at all to sign a contract. His crew cleaned up every day and the entire job took 4 days, two of which were 90 + degrees. He provided an extensive list of references, and everyone I contacted spoke very highly of the work they had done.
