They charged me $840 for a $40 part. The guys were here less than a half hour. What a ripoff.

The flat rate is regardless of the time some repairs can take up to 3 hrs with no additional charge. You where more than welcome to deny the repair. They charged me for a service call without doing the service on the part that went bad and I waited over a month for them to order parts that they claimed were difficult to get and when I called the same supply houses that they claimed they could not get the parts from, the part was available for pick up in 3 days. Meanwhile, no hot water in my house for a month. UNSCRUPULOUS owner!!!!!

"I apologize that you are unsatisfied with the service getting parts currently can be difficult with the state of shipping and the factor of the age of the unit we also don’t gain anything from lying to you and not servicing your unit, we did not have confirmation that the part you ordered was correct but aside of that the service call charge covers travel and diagnosis of issues with your unit as promised you were not going to be charged that again but installation and repairs of parts is separate from the service call and unfortunately due to the poor installation of the unit it is very difficult to work on and the price has to reflect the difficulties our technicians will have to face during repairs"

Before you read further, be aware that the owner responded to this review on Yelp with my full name address and phone number. He also did this to another negative review. He is literally doxing anyone that says something negative. That is unacceptable and tells you everything you need to know. This company can not be trusted. Period. Owner is one of the most unbelievable people I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. Last summer I had called and left messages about emergency service needed. I never received a call back and left a review based on that experience. The owner then called me and verbally berated me for the review and said that it was my fault because I should know that HVAC companies are busy during the summer, as it that's my fault. He was so aggressive to the point that I was left speechless on the phone. He then begged me to remove my review of my experience after continuing to attack me. He knew he was in the wrong and how bad his rude responses looked so he even offered to do the service for free if I removed the reviews. I figured we'd let bygones be bygones and I removed all reviews. Well obviously what he did to service my machine did not stick because once again my unit is not working the next summer. I contacted the company again to have it serviced, perfectly willing to pay for the service, and the owner calls me to decline. That's fine and he has every right in the world to do so as a business owner. I just feel like I should let people know about this company because the owner seems to like to attack people if you don't leave a good review, and then holds grudges. He even threatened to sue me and to post my personal information everywhere if I reposted a negative review. I have the texts to prove this. Not professional and I'd be very wary of doing business with them. See the other review on Yelp that complains about the way the owner talked to him. Seems to be the way he deals with people.

"{member contact information removed} early august of last year 2108! he called for service and left a message as all our linesw were busy with other callers. we did not respond fast enough for him, he then posted a very negative review on all of the internet sights, we called back the next day and he said either you service my unit for free or the reviews stay. so we went to his condo in oceanside on 08-07-18 and found his ac unit that we did not install or ever service before was low on Freon. we recommended installing leak dye to attempt to locate where the leak was coming from, he accepted and we added 3 lbs of r22 Freon. this bill totaled $532.26 after tax. ( this was done for free,,,, then we returned as yet another courtesy on 08-21-18! to search for the Freon leak with a uv light and we did not see any signs of the dye yet, this cal totaled $157.51 after tax and this was done again for free, then the client removed the bad reviews. then the client called us back this year on 06-26-19 to ask for service again. I ever so politely told him that because of the issues with him and the internet last year we will not service his system again, all we did was add Freon and dye to get him going, we did not make any repairs, am I repeated to him that I was being polite as possible knowing he has a quick trigger finger for the internet. the client then told me I haven't seen anything yet just wait and see now he tells me. and here we are again a full year later. the client wasn't charged a dime, we did 2 free service calls for him adding Freon and dye, then a free dye check and that wasn't enough. there are 100s of ac companies in our local are he could have called, but he still called us back for some reason. im not sure why he keeps harassing my company and keeps texting me threats. And even at that early morning hour they were pleasant and efficient! I have since signed up for a service contract and am confident that the excellent service will continue!

Received quote to move the outdoor A/C unit, quoting process went fine. To get the move scheduled and the permits handled was very slow and difficult. It became apparent that they were not interested in doing the job due to the difficult permitting process in our Village.  The  outside unit then stopped working and we called Able Air to fix it.  Two technicians came and declared the condenser dead (we paid $250 for the call, which is likely the norm).  Brian then came and fixed the unit for an additional $250. He advised that this was a temporary fix and we will need a new unit.  This was July and we were happy to have it fixed and his temporary solution lasted for the remainder of the season.  We are hiring a different service to replace the central air conditioning system - one that is more familiar with the permitting process in our Village.

Working with Able Air and Heat has been an amazing experience. I was sold after superstorm Sandy hit. We lost the downstairs of our house where the burner was located. All the companies we spoke with were unable to come out until "further notice." They all mentioned I would need a new burner due to the salt water but were unable to do the job, again, until "further Notice"! I called Able and spoke with Brian Keith, Owner and operator. He was very professional and basically diagnosed the problem over the phone. He said "I'll be right there." 20 minutes later he showed up, with the necessary parts he had in his truck, fixed the burner and gave me and my family heat! From that experience, I'm a customer for life. 2 years ago, I was ready to convert from oil to gas, I called a few companies to price the job. Brian came in the cheapest with top of the line equipment. The process was a breeze. Brian obtained all permits, and left us stress free. The job was quick, neat, professional, etc. Most recently, we had construction done in our home and needed our wall convectors removed and baseboards installed. Yet again..... Brian and the team over at Able air and heat, came through with high flow baseboards, and a quick, neat and professional job. Bottom line, if your looking for air/heat, plumbing, work done, don't even bother going anywhere else. Brian and the Able Air and Heat team is where it's at. I'm a big fan of supporting local business :).

The service time was between 11am and 2pm   Called me that morning that it could be earlier, and was that ok.  They called about 1pm that the technician was on their way.    Long story short they called at 1:55pm that they would not be here.  So I wasted the whole day waiting,   Would not use them again Not reliable.

The house in question has needed many repairs and I have met some talkers and con artists on the road to redoing.
I guess I was due a break because I got lucky and met Brian. Brian and his employees came with the right equipment and took on a tough job--installing a Burnham 3 zone unit and a separate water heater in the smallest space that a human could work in.
It was a pleasure to have him in my home and I intend to use him again for all my heating and air conditioning needs. Good people aren't easy to find and although he wasn't my cheapest estimate, he was the most reasonable person to work with that I have encountered in my journey to put a 50 year old house back into working condition.

Brian and his team are professional and personable. He provides the appropriate invoice paperwork needed for insurance reimbursement. He prefers not to get involved with handling any of the paperwork involved with insurance claims or reimbursements, but will speak with them when necessary.

We continue to call Able Air for all our plumbing needs, and regularly recommend him to our friends and neighbors. I don't see that changing.
