There are 17 of the most wonderful, caring, educated, talented, and licensed by the State of New York, stylists at our salon & spa. Most of the stylists are sub-contractors or renters. As soon as you walk into our greeting area, you can See & Feel The Difference in our salon. Everything in our salon is computerized, so at the push of a button we can tell you what & when your last service was, what products were purchased, everything we need to know. Everyone is greeted & asked who their appointment is with, if we can take their coat, and if they would like a refreshment, (water, coffee, tea, red or white wine). Nothing is served in plastic or styrafoam. We use china cups and wine/water glasses. We want you to feel as comfortable as if you were in our home visiting. All of our salon equipment is custom built to the owners specifications, ensuring client comfort, and stylists ease of use. Some of the specifics for our stations, all cords and styling tools are stored on the sides of the stations, so there are no unsightly cords showing, and the tools are within esay reach with pull out holders. Under the stylists Corian shelf is another half moon shaped shelf. This is where our clients can put their laptops, purses, briefcases, etc. This prevents these items from getting hair all over them like they do when they are on the floor. All hair care products are professional, and of the highest quality. We only retail, with a guarantee, what is used at our backbar. Our clients comfort, satisfaction, and well being are 1st & foremost for us. In our spa our technician use only the most modern, technically advanced, & sanitary equipment. Everyone working at our salon must sign a contract that clearly states the rules & expectations of stylists. The dress code is more about what not to wear. We are all individuals & professionals so the way we dress is part of our personality. I have always believed that you lead by example. All of the rules and regulations apply to me more than anyone else. I cannot expect anyone to follow them if I do not. Everyone is equal. As the owner I am very proud to say, that after opening my 1st salon in 1978, and this being my 5th salon, this is the salon of my dreams. From our location, the talent & dedication of our team members, the support & education from our distributors & hair care companies, and last but certainly not the least, the love & support from our families, I cannot imagine anywhere better than this. There is always someone at the reception area to answer your questions & concerns, book & reschedule appointments, & check people in & out. Our reception staff makes daily confirmation calls because life is so hectic today. There is an assistant also always available. Our assistants are actually licensed hairdressers with up tp 20 years of salon experience. The salon offers in salon training for everyone, & we also bring in educators from our hair care companies, all at no charge to our stylists. Many of our stylists are also educators in cutting, coloring, corrective coloring, (one of our specialties), and permanent waving. Everyone in our salon works as team members. No one is above anyone else. We have no egos among our team members, however what we do have is extreme confidence. We know our profession. This is not just a job to any of us, This is our profession. After owning & renting from several other salons, I have come up with a business plan that is sure to suceed. I treat everyone exactly how I would like to be treated. Dignity,respect,fairness,& not to take advantage of anyone. All stylists are encouraged to donate time & services to worthy causes. You cannot just take, you have to give back. This has been a belief of mine since high school. I donated my time for swimming lessons at the YMCA, as a Merit Counselor for the Boy Scouts, and for several years I have donated free haircuts & styles to the Compeer Organization. I mentor new hairstylists & teach graduating stylists at Continental School of Cosmetology, all on my free time. It is not just about money, to us it is mostly about helping people look & feeling their best. Of course we have to make a living, but when you can do these things, money is much less important.
