Ken gave me a quote the day I called and lucky for me, he had an opening the following day. I had very large branches that either fell or were hanging from my white pines. A dead tree had to be removed and branches cut back from overhead lines. I didn't realize there were branches interfering with the electric line (good catch on his part). My yard was left in better condition than it was in before the storms. Highly recommend.

Ken and his crew came to remove a row of boxwoods and trim various trees and bushes in the yard. Mostly satisfied. The tops of the trees were no shaped very well and some branches were left in the yeard. The main roots of the boxwoods were removed, but many smaller roots were left behind in the dirt.

We couldn't have been happier and more pleased. They were professional, cordial, sensitive to leaving the yard as they found it, neat and clean. We were amazed at all they did in two days.
We recommend that others use North Shore Tree Care.

Owner, Ken Wend, and a crew of three arrived right in time, as scheduled. They went right to work and did an excellent, professional job. Ken supervised the crew, directed them to the limbs to be pruned, and closely monitored their work. The crew was very skilled at ensuring that the cut limbs were suspended by rope and taken down without damaging surrounding trees and shrubbery. Ken himself filled the cavities. The work took 2-1/2 hours.

I've looked for a tree care company who had arborist expertize. Ken, the owner, was recommended by a neighbor. I've got 3 other quotes for the same work, and Ken's price was competitive. The reasons for selecting them to do the work included not only the price that showed good value, but also arborist expertize, professional approach, a recommendation from a trusted person, and, yes, the fact that they are a local business in my neighborhood.

Ken's approach was very professional, arrived at the agreed time, had a thorough walk-through and assessment of all trees and branches, and made sensible recommendations. Recommended not to take down a tree that another person recommended taking down, even though adding this tree would increase the amount paid. Ken differed from the reps of other businesses that quoted on the job, there was no push to do things unnecessarily. Adding a long high branch did not increase the price - the equivalent of $150 higher price from one of other tree care businesses because they had to and quot;use a truck with a liftand quot;. (Ken's business used it as a normal piece of equipment they use to do the job.)

Scheduling of the work took some time, partially because of the other commitments and unsafe weather conditions. Once agreed upon, all was done in a shorter time than estimated. All trimmings were picked up and removed.

The bonus at the end, and after all was done and already paid for: I've asked, and got, a walk-through the property, during which Ken pointed to every tree and larger bush, named it and explained what it was. Now I have better idea which trees and bushes we have on the property. On my inquiry, Ken also recommended another business from the neighborhood for some landscaping work.

A big confirmation of the work well done came during the tropical storm Irene test few months later. While Irene knocked down many trees in the neighborhood, in the area of this work our yard had only leaves and smaller branches fallen down after the storm's strong winds passed by. This means all deadwood was removed, as promised.
