Everything that Gary fixes is done right the first time and sometimes the work even comes in under the estimate. They are also very reliable with appointments and timely repairs.

They are so good, I am afraid to leave a good review because I want them to have time for us! We don't stick with anyone lower than an A! I would use them again.

I have used them a lot over the last few years. They are very nice. They have been giving me an Angie's List discount since I started using them.

Transmission is leaking 10 months after being rebuilt. Have only put 5000 miles on it. No longer live in the area and staff could offer nothing more than a shoulder shrug over the phone. Other transmissions I've had rebuilt at other locations have nationwide warranties. Look elsewhere when having major repair work done. Try AAA certified locations.

I highly recomend Gary . His prices are fair but more importantly he is extremely honest and will only do the work that is needed

I shopped around for a fair price to do the repair -- including Toyota Dealer.

I telephoned him and explained the problem.
His wife, very nice, made an appointment for me to bring the car in for a free estimate.
I did and he gave me a very fair price.
I made an appointment to get the job done.
Brought it in and about 2.5 hours later the repair with the oil change (also checked all fluids, and tire pressure) was completed.
Prompt, professional, knowlegeable and courteous.

Easy, friendly, great price.  As a single woman who knows nothing about cars I've always been a bit uncomfortable getting my car repaired because I don't know enough to know if i'm getting ripped off or not.  Laura in the office patiently explains everything, and answers any questions I have.  I don't feel stupid when I go there!

For many years Gary has repaired our family's vehicles. He is an expert mechanic, work is always done in a timely fashion for a fair and reasonable price. He is also a pleasant person who takes time to explain mechanical problems and how they will be fixed. I reccomend Gary very highly and without reservations

Everything went fine.  Gary's wife Laura does the appointments.  She set me up as soon as she had an opening.  Couldn't go the day I wanted, but she was able to accommodate me the following day.

I called on Tuesday afternoon to make an appointment to bring in my Chrysler van.  They told me to bring it in Thursday morning.  Everyone was very professional and friendly.  I was called a couple hours after I dropped it off with the information about what needed to be done to the brakes and how much it would cost.  The estimate was spot on to what I ended up paying.  They even won my trust a little further by telling me that my tires would pass inspection now, but they only had about 5000 miles in them.  Then they told me that they would be happy to recommend good places to buy tires when I was ready to replace them.  They said they couldn't find anything wrong with the leaky tire, but it hasn't leaked since they looked at it, so I guess whatever they did while they were looking at it fixed it!  The work was done by late afternoon.  All in all a very pleasant experience.  (They also did the state inspection on my husband's Camry Hybrid a couple of weeks later and it was a similar good experience.)

They didn't go hunting for bogus work that 'needed' to be done like so many other mechanics do.  They were honest, fair, and very nice.  Had to chance a headlight bulb and my wipers.  I will use them again for my next work without a doubt.

My wife's 1997 Honda CRV failed NY State inspection due to tires and a faulty left front tie rod end. I replaced the tires and I discovered Gary's Automotive thru Angies List. They were very curteous and professional. Laura provided two price quotes for the job (depending upon which alignment was necessary) over the phone and gave a time when it would be completed. In addition Laura stated that there were two levels of alignment that could be done and they wouldn't know which was necessary until they replaced the tie rod end. As it turned out the lessor alignment was done resulting in the lower price and it included the 10% Angies List discount. The job was completed prior to the time quoted. When we went to pick up the car Laura took the time to show my wife the replaced tie rod end and showed her why it needed to be replaced. Overall I was very pleased with everything about the service received and would highly recommend Gary's Automotive.

I have an older SUV that I had been spending thousands per year to maintain, but now realize I was likely paying for things I didn't need at other mechanics. I saw the great reviews on Angies list and decided to give Gary a try.  I'm very happy with the outcome, my brakes and rotors were replaced at a fair price.  I dropped the car off one night, and picked it up the next.  His office manager also explained some work that he saw I would need short and long term, but I don't feel like he was pushing it on me, but rather warning me of the expenses I would face in the near future so I could plan accordingly.  Really very happy with this experience, and plan on using Gary's again!

I brought my 350Z in knowing I had to replace the brakes, and Laura and Gary agreed to replace the rotors and pads with ones I had purchased online and they would inspect the oil leak I had.  They took care of the brakes and gave me separate quotes on replacing the leaking lower oil pan and another part that was more expensive, I decided to go with the lower oil pan for now and hold off on the other piece (can't remember which it was...).  Their price was way lower than the dealership price that was quoted to me for the same work, and when the front left brake was making loud squealing noises they took it back and fixed the bent piece for nothing, everything has been fine since then.  Will be going back soon for oil changes and inspections for both of my cars.

Super. Gary worked on it once, and the noise in the fan was gone. A few days later it returned. Gary performed the second repair for no charge, and this time the noise has not returned after nearly a month.

By the way, Gary has moved about a block north from his original location. He is now at the corner of Larkfield Road and Brightside Avenue.

I would us him again. I trust him with my vehicles and his expertise. He is courteous. His shop is clean and Gary is meticulous.
