As with all construction, it's an ordeal when you go through it. Your home life is a mess because you have kids at home while there was enormous amounts of dirt and dust outside and the loud sounds of heavy machinery. In the end almost a year later as I write this review, I can tell you it was all worth it. Everything is beautiful and the blossoming of all the plantings while I'm outside sipping a cup of coffee tells me the patience was worth it. Vinny's guys (he's the V in VDG) did a really nice job and are like artists with the concrete saw as they built out my walkway and the raised patio. I also give it to all the other hard labor workers that had to endure the summer heat to move the pavers and clean the mess that I had. The job took longer than I expected and it was frustrating while going through it. But that was a combination of them squeezing me in between other jobs and the many changes to the design that I made. It's important with construction work to lay it all out at the onset. Go over timeline expectations and be specific. In the end, I was very happy with the results and ended up hiring VDG again for an interior remodel that I will review later.
Description of Work: I bought a brand new house which had absolutely no landscaping. The walkway to front door and steps in front and back were simple concrete. My project included a full redo of what was there and to convert it into our backyard oasis and front yard garden. We did pavers in front, back and sides of the house. I have to think approx. 2000 sq ft. including a raised patio and complete refinish of the steps with cultured stone. This also included sprinkler system and sod. Also had at least 2 dozen large plants put in and the rocks and mulch to go with it. They had to clean out the weeds and rocks which was not easy.
