East Meadow Animal Hospital is as good as it gets. I have used them to treat my beloved dogs for over 30 years now. We usually see Dr. Gross and find him to be caring and an excellent diagnostician, who takes his time and is conservative and patient. Importantly for us, Dr. Gross is knowledgeable in how to treat toy dogs (I currently am the proud mom of 2!) and carefully calibrates their meds so they aren't overmedicated. Vet techs are exceptionally pleasant and knowlegeable as well. Prices are average for the area. The building is beautiful and modern.

They are not inexpensive. They are reliable and the doctors are good. They give you time, do not rush you out. I have 3 dogs and they all go there.

My dog was 16 and I had a heart-to-heart talk with them. I always found them to be excellent. She was a pretty healthy dog. They were wonderful when it was time to put her down. They were very caring. I think they were really competent, they were always very friendly on the phone, and I can get an appointment easily. The price is reasonable. It's about $300 for a complete check up and shots for a dog. They charged me $199 for the euthanasia. There was only one time when it was a little high when I brought her in before she was euthanized. The blood work they charged me was $300 which I thought was a little excessive. My dog was healthy so she only went like maybe once or twice a year so I never had exorbitant bills. They were always very responsive, they answered all my questions, and they seemed very knowledgeable. I like them a lot. I've never really had any other experience other than them, but for me I felt that it wasn't exorbitant, it wasn't unreasonable in prices especially for the care my dog received. They were always responsive so I was able to get an appointment within a reasonable period of time. Everyone there is just extremely kind and caring.

I took my cat there and she got a check-up, and she got the rabies shot, the distemper shot, etc., and they gave her a bath too. Dr. Gross there is very excellent. I would like to give them all "A's." Everything is good there. They referred me to a cancer specialist, because I had had a cat with cancer. It was a good referral. They seem to be a very caring place for animals. I have been to a lot of different vets, but they seem to be the best in the area.

I have been going to them for a long time and I have been taking my fourth dog to them, now. I like the fact that they keep to their appointments and don't keep me waiting for ever. I would continue to use them in the future.

Overall, it went very well. They were fine. They were compassionate. They were reasonably priced, it was probably average. They don't recommend excessive testing without a good reason. I went by an appointment and they were easily accessible. It was not a long wait. I would use their services again in the future.

My dog suddenly sustained a back injury and couldn't walk. They agreed to examine the dog that morning, on short notice. Dr. Lopez examined the dog, had a technician take x-rays, and after seeing the films, explained the problem as most likely being a pinched nerve, in a spine that already had arthritis. Dr. Lopez explained the options: back surgery performed by a specialist, treatment with steroids to reduce the inflammation, or euthanasia. I opted for the steroid treatment after Dr. Lopez offered to perform the initial treatment at the hospital to see if it helped. Two days later, the dog was walking again. Dr. Lopez permitted members of the family to visit the dog in the evening. The dog was already blind from an auto immune disease and suffering from Cushing's disease. Although the dog was already suffering from too much cortisol, and didn't need more steroids, injecting cortisone directly to the site of the pinched nerve enabled the dog to walk again. The dog was too old for surgery, and I wanted to see if the dog would respond to treatment before opting for euthanasia. Dr. Lopez was available during the day to listen to follow up reports regarding the dog's recovery at home and to give additional instructions on reducing the dosage of medication the dog was being given. The treatment bought the dog more time before he finally succumbed to the growing tumor on the pituitary gland. I'd like the add that the kennels/cages were kept clean; the animals being boarded were kept clean; the animals always had fresh water available and were fed. Bedding in the cages was clean. The Veterinarians at this hospital were the dog's regular physicians.

Really well, our vet, Dr. Gross, really had a way with our dog and immediately put her at ease. He was straightforward and laid out the possible causes and options. We decided to treat her with antibiotics and even through pricey (>$50 for 7 days worth) immediately helped the bump go down. After two weeks, it still wasn't completely gone and we brought her back for a followup appointment. Dr. Gross once again saw her, laid out our options again as well as made a recommendation. What stood out in my mind, was that the 5 minute follow-up appointment was not charged, just the second round of meds.

East Meadow really takes pride in caring for their animals. The doctors are very good. They know what they are doing and they do fine with communicating. The only thing they could improve on would be lowering their prices a bit but that may be typical of all vets these days. Overall, I am happy to report I am very satisfied and would recommend this company to other people with pets in my area.
