I have used Blacktop Unlimited for the past 25+ years without a single incident or problem. They have been sealing my driveway both at my prior home and at my current home at a frequency of every other year, on average. Never a problem...never a complaint, until this year, that is.... They came and sealed my driveway only just recently. PRIOR to the day of the scheduled sealing, I decided (as I have in the past) to fill several cracks in my asphalt driveway with a hardening crack filler. In the past, this was no problem as the Blacktop employee who arrived to seal the driveway , used more than an adequate / sufficient amount of sealer so as to cover / conceal the lighter color area where the crack filler was used. This year , however, as seen in the accompanying photographs, while some of the areas where the cracks were filled were adequately covered by the blacktop sealer so as to conceal the lighter colored areas, other areas were not treated sufficiently so as to conceal the lighter color. I contacted Blacktop unlimited to explain the situation indicating that there was not a problem with the general quality of the application, rather there was a problem with the insufficient quantity of the product spread over the crack filled areas so as to conceal the lighter color . While initially offering to come and rectify the situation by charging the full cost of resurfacing the entire driveway, I further explained the problem to Sherry who did not seem to understand the nature of the problem. I was not requesting that the entire driveway be resealed, but simply that someone come back to spot treat the areas shown in the photographs (that were also provided to Blacktop Unlimited) which clearly were not properly treated with a sufficient amount of sealer so as to conceal the lighter color of the areas where the cracks were filled. In a series of emails, she finally indicated that Anthony, the principal of Blacktop Unlimited , agreed to rectify the situation by having someone come back to spot treat the areas for an additional fee of $40 , rather that the full cost of resealing the entire driveway ,as was initially proposed. Moreover, confirming her lack of understanding of the situation, explained to her on several occasions , Sherry, in her last email indicated that : "...The driveway sealcoating was completed, you filled the cracks after Max sealed which was unnecessary.." clearly implying and attempting to attribute blame for the unacceptable sealing of the driveway (in the first instance) to the customer rather than to her negligent employee who failed to properly treat the crack filled areas....all the while clearly misstating the facts as she was told that the cracks were filled BEFORE the sealcoating and NOT afterwards. I sent a final email, piror to posting this review, to give Anthony and Sherry , one final opportunity to rectify this situation involving a long time and dedicated customer by returning to spot treat the crack filled areas and by showing good will by not assessing an additional charge to do so, indicating further that it was NOT a matter of cost but a matter of principal. Apparently, Blacktop Unlimited has no concern for, nor is willing to undertake any reasonable efforts to please its long standing customers. Rather, they resort to projecting their employee's malfeasance in completing the job in a proper fashion to their long standing customers , relying on misstated facts and circumstances. As I promised Sherry in my last email to Blacktop Unlimited that I would do, if I did not receive a response to my last email communication, I would sever our relationship that has existed for 25+ years, and that I would share my most negative experience with others on this platform. As I indicated on several occasions to Sherry, as well as asking her to inform Anthony of such, this is not about the $40 cost in rectifying the situation... it is a matter of principal as well as presenting a most unfortunate and unacceptable matter by which a customer of 25+ years is treated in such a dismissive fashion by Blacktop Unlimited (as the cost of my time in drafting this post far exceeds the $40). Their customer service skills and good faith are virtually non existent and give one an impression of a company that just does not care in satisfying their customers, and will certainly go to no lengths in righting a wrong situation. Be warned....STAY AWAY , as I , for one, will never use Blacktop Unlimited again........after all these years......

Perhaps it is just contractors now a days but it seems like every company I contact has the same deal, be it driveway paving, sealcoating, landscaping whatever, weird events happen, hard to contact, etc. I contacted this company early march to inquire about their service for sealcoating my 8 month old driveway. I got an estimate march 3 2022 for $285 which I accepted. I was scheduled for April 27. I inquired how exactly the process goes in terms of prepping the driveway and was told “they will blow it off before” and being a **** I decided to look up some youtube videos of sealcoating and prepwork always includes weedwhacking, brushing, blowing and sometimes even power washing, but as I said my driveway os less than a year old so not much prep work was required but I still took my time to blow it off myself and hose all of the bird droppings, micro dust or dirt that was caked on, etc. My scheduled day arrives and I get a notification text to keep sprinklers off, move cars etc, which I do. About 1 PM that day I get a text “unfortunately we ran out of sealer so we will need to reschedule”. dumbfounded I call them to ask and the receptionist seems perplexed by me questioning this. Like… you are a sealcoat company, how do you run out of sealer? It is 1 pm on a wednesday, go buy more. I was about to cancel then (read my first few lines about how every contractor I have contacted has some weird event). Maybe they use some big truck with sealer like they do on youtube videos where they siphon the sealer to the driveway with big hoses and they can’t get more than they need for the day from a plant or something because it will harden inside the truck tank (again no idea about seal coating except youtube videos) But alas I read the reviews of several companies and this was the highest rated so I figured I’d still go through with it. I was rescheduled a week later, which again I questioned but was told they only do certain areas on certain days so I needed to wait for the next time they were in the area. Fine. The problem with scheduling a week later though, is that mother nature has a week to plan, aka rain. But guess who cleaned off their driveway again? Rain happened May 4 so I was rescheduled again to May 5, at least it wasn’t another week. So the guy shows up, unmarked suburbon, white t shirt, dirty jeans and sneakers. No markings of any company, this is a business right? He unloads 6 buckets of unmarked sealer (why couldn’t you get more of this a week ago? You don’t even have a fancy truck). He is there for less than 40 minutes, including using a residential grade backpack blower to “clean” the driveway. 95% of the driveway looks fine but pretty much every edge up to my block boarders is barely or not touched at all. There are distinct lines you can see, some up to 12 inches long and 2 inches wide where it looks totally different, driveway vs sealer and it is all around the property. I reached out with pictures and was told “ They guys use a long brush with metal edges, so it doesn't always get to the borders as the guys try to be neat that is taking a chance of getting the borders dirty.” To this I sent more pictures but I do not feel like arguing semantics with someone so I thanked them and paid. I decided I would just leave a review to at least make myself feel better about this situation. As I said i watched lots of videos of sealcoating, I oddly find them satisfying and in every video the person is using the exact same brush as this company uses and gets every edge, even on open edges and especially ones that are against a block (which was my main issue). If your daily hired subcontractor guy can’t do edges with the big brush, I’m sure they have smaller brushes for edging? Again I have no clue but it would seem logical to me. I look at it as painting a house, you would cut in and then do the bulk of it with a roller or sprayer. Anyway, 95% of the driveway looks fine but with the untouched parts being literally at the front of my driveway and my front door I have to take off stars.

Driveway looks okay but they left all their garbage for me to dispose of. I called them to inform that the workers left a ton of dirt in my trash can too heavy for me to move in addition to garbage in my recycle bin. they said they would send someone to cleanup the mess but never did. Shame on you Blacktop Unlimited.

Horrible After canceling twice. And not calling we called to confirm! They finally showed up. Thank goodness I was home, which the two bumpkins that came were not aware of. I watched on camera as they Try to power wash the entire house from the ground. They were also to clean the fences and gates of which they did not do. They just sprayed sprayed water on it didn’t get the stains off it and spent very little time on it. The final straw was they were hired to power wash the paint off our chimney after approximately 5 to 10 minutes they stopped rolled up their equipment and then knocked on the door realizing that somebody was home and said that that’s the best they could do and that now we had to get a sandblaster. When the estimate was given we were assured that it could be done with no problem.. There were no ladders used so it was impossible for them to get the upper part of the chimney even somewhat clean. they blew chips and dirt all over the place did nothing to clean up and left. Every gate we had was left open with no protection if God for bid any children were to go in our backyard where we have a pond so they opened up the gates and never close it behind them they moved the barbecue and left it where it was when they power washed the siding and they moved our ladder which was next to the garage into the backyard in a plant bed and left it there. You can’t get in touch with anybody you can only leave voicemails and the owner of the company this guy Anthony never gets back to you. So I highly recommend that you use any other company but blacktop unlimited for power washing blacktop anything they are the worst.

They arrived when expected. Did the work as stated. First application had marks in it. They redid it promptly to our satisfaction. Within two weeks the driveway had ugly mark areas. Called and Anthony came by and said he didn't know what was wrong, and said he had several people with the same problem. He said he would investigate the problem and get back to us. That was in the fall of 2017. Our driveway looks awful. My husband called today and explained the situation to the girl on the phone. She checked and said the problem is caused by car wash soap. It doesn't rinse away. What? Even if that's true the customer should be told not to wash their car on the driveway. Not a word was said about this problem. Makes no sense to us. We've been in this house for 46 years and this has never happened before on any surface we've had, concrete or asphalt. So we are stuck with an ugly driveway, and no help from this company.

It needs to be separated into 2 parts: WORK CREW and OFFICE The WORK CREW was punctual, approachable, and answered all my questions. The job was completed within 2-3 hours. The company appears well capitalized as 2-3 trucks with equipment were on scene. The roller, however, left scuff marks and minor damage on the concrete sidewalk approaching the driveway. The use of a wood plank to lay over the sidewalk probably would have mitigated any damage and should be considered by the company for future jobs. The OFFICE was contacted through Angie's list. After 7-10 days, I was contacted by Angies list with the name of a different provider since the company had not yet responded to my initial inquiry. Within a week after that, I was Emailed a proposal that inferred an onsite estimate (approx $3.50 sq ft). With that, I was left telephone messages nearly daily. After I verbally agreed to the job, I was told I would be contacted to schedule the job. However, the next contact was by IM telling me WHEN they were going to do the job. This was with only a few days notice, which necessitated on the fly work vacation day changes - which adversely affected others - and a visit to Village Hall on the morning of the job to obtain waivers for street parking. A better level of client/contractor coordination should have been considered by the company. However, that being said, it is into the 2nd week of completion, I have driven on the driveway ( parking in the garage) and next week i am told I will be able to park on the driveway. The job looks to be done well. Without the unusual methods for booking / contacting by the office, a higher grade would have been achieved.

Jose and his crew were good, i thought i got a great deal and he was very responsive and helpful with the selection of the pavers and in answering all my questions. My one complaint is that Jose was not present the majority of the time as the work was being done, specially with the pavers. They did an ok Job on the pavers; however, anytime i pay anyone i expect close to perfection. Some of his crew was not as professional as he is and i felt they may have taken shortcuts

We used blacktop unlimited last year for our driveway. The price was great and everything went fine until the day of service. The day of service, an employee showed up, completed half the driveway, and then left and never returned. When we called the company, they didn't really seem to know the employee or how to get in touch with him to find out why he left without completing the project. After this, it was difficult to get in touch with anyone at Blacktop Unlimited so we could have the project completed. They finally sent someone almost 2 weeks later. At this point, we still weren't upset because we understand that things happen. However, we never received a bill because the employee that disappeared should have put in the mailbox. A few weeks later, they called us and we mailed them a check. Several months later, they started calling and texting saying they never received a check. I don't know why they waited so long to tell us that they never received it, but they seem to be much easier to reach then they were when our project was not completed. I will mail them a new check, but I cannot recommend them. If Blacktop Unlimited cared about their customers, they would have sent someone much quicker to complete the job when their employee left it incomplete.

Carlos and his crew did a great job. The office staff was likewise courteous and professional. This company takes a video of the area to be worked on before giving a quote. Found this to be very helpful - when we called the office before the job with specific questions, the personnel at Blacktop Unlimited were able to pull up the video and address our inquiries. A friend recommended this company to me and I am happy to pass on that recommendation.

The original date for my treatment was for the end of May but because of rain they had to reschedule. To my surprise in order to catchup on the jobs that were postponed that were working on a Sunday. You do not have to be home for the work to be done. They are one of the few contractors that use non latex sealer which i find lasts longer. I had the thicker slurry coat done this year since my driveway took a beating this past winter. otherwise the normal coating is only $60. Well worth it so not to get covered in tar. If by chance they get some product where it does not belong they are prompt at coming to remove the stain.

Anthony did the sealcoating on my driveway. He provided an excellent price, far better then anyone else I called. He was extremely neat and very polite. I had occassion to speak with his staff and they too were very polite and professional. Please do not hesitate to call them. They showed up on time, provided excellent customer service and the quality of his work was was good. What more could you ask for he even had a great price.
