Kepner Kitchens LLC

We selected Kepner - even though the price was a premium over the next bidder - for exhibited knowledge, professionalism, and quality of the product in the show room.  As is I assume is often the case with large jobs like this there were a few surprises along the way - a cabinet showing up broken, the soffit removal revealing pipes that needed to be covered, and a few other miscellaneous gotchas.  None of them were extreme and we felt that each time there was a surprise that was revealed, Mark Kepner responded with integrity and did not gouge us for any extra added cost.  As the job proceeded there were a few surprises we gave him as well!  The decision to add lights under cabinets, install new light fixtures, add a back splash, and even hang new doors.  Each time Mark was responsive to our needs and did his best to accomodate us in his schedule.  He was able to perform nearly all of the jobs himself with minimal subcontracting.  Overall the job took the bulk of the summer from start to finish, including floor installation, cabinets, waiting for templating of counter top, all lighting and door installations.  And though I can't say it was "painless", Kepner made it as smooth as possible.  About the only improvement I could suggest is that of cleanup.  We were left responsible for tidying up during the process and finally at the end as well. I would have liked to see a bit more professionalism there.  Even though the large scale trash removal was included, there was an additional pickup required at the end as there were some more large items that needed to be removed.  We paid separately for that. A nice touch would have been to include it. Also the quantity of flooring material was overestimated and so we were left with significantly more flooring material than we required.  And were unable to negotiate a reasonable cost of return.  We are hanging on to it and can almost do another full (small) room!  All that said we were very pleased with the quality of the workmanship and the responsiveness of the Kepners.  Mark worked very hard and we are truly grateful.  And in the final analysis I must say, we just LOVE our new kitche.   I would definitely hire them again!

Kepner came and took measurements and pictures of the existing kitchen.  Met with us to go over designs and plans to remodel the kitchen on two occasions. Will meet with Kepner again in about a month ( avoiding Christmas rush).  Very pleased with the knowledge and him working with us.

It was very graphic, explicit, and wonderful to see the detail.  However we didn’t proceed with the work.

I purchased the $99.00 kitchen layout. Bob was very prompt, accomodating and professional. However, after going back and forth, with price and timeline - he was unable to confirm the timeline for the work to be done by. So, I did not use him at this time.

The design was prepared using software that allowed the contractor to display it on a monitor.   The contractor provided paper versions of the design and answered all questions. Viewing the design on the monitor was a good experience.  It provided a feel for how the kitchen would be, and prompted questions and exposed flaws.   Seller has small number of lines of cabinetry and counter tops. The design included items that were not requested.  I will continue to look for a kitchen contractor.

Mr Kepner was prompt, courteous and forthright during our meeting. He listened to our concerns and provided an understandable and informative report. We appreciated his input and enjoyed dealing with him.

Kepner Kitchens was excellent to work with. Owner of company Eric was a professional in both installation and customer service. He kept us informed each and every step of our project. Final resuls are great!!!! We would highly recommend Kepner Kitchen when you want to just talk about your ideas and then watch as your dreams come true!!!!!! Give them a chance to help you make your kitchen what you always wanted!!

I can not say enough nice things about Eric Kepner and the work he did for us. When my wife and I decided to remodel our kitchen, we received quotes from several contractors. Eric was very professional and punctual in coming up with a design and giving us a competitive price. We chose another contractor who was a little bit cheaper, but decided to get our cabinets through Eric. That's where the fun started (sarcastic). Because we were working with two separate contractors, the timing of everything needed to be coordinated precisely. But, two weeks before our cabinets were scheduled to be installed, Hurricane Irene hit the New England area and the company building our cabinets was flooded and went out of business. We were left scrambling for new cabinets on an impossible timeline. The contractors told us that if the cabinets were not there by the time they were ready to install them, they would leave and couldn't not tell when they would be back. Eric stepped in and told us that the contract we signed for the cabinets was with him, not the manufacturer, so although it was going to cost him extra, he would honor that agreement and have custom cabinets made to match our order. And since they wouldn't be ready to meet the other contractor's timeline, he would match their labor price and do the installation himself. This, to me, is unprecedented in the world of contractors. Not only did he take a personal loss to uphold our contract, but he matched a lower estimate for the labor so that we wouldn't have to wait. He also ended up fixing some of the mistakes the other contractor had left. Our kitchen looks amazing now and we couldn't be happier with the work Eric did.  It's a small family owned business, so he can't always match the prices or schedules of larger contractors, but his quality of work and professionalism exceeds any additional costs or wait. I will not hesitate to use Eric Kepner for any of our future kitchen or bathroom work.
