RK General Contracting

The project was mired from the start with delays. A lack of communication regarding the layout plans between Walter and the Designer; a missing cabinet in the initial delivery (not Walter's fault) which did not come for another 2 weeks; and a hardwood floor delivery that was short the necessary wood. Adding to the delay was the hardwood floor needing a few extra polyurethane coats to get it right. Also, the cabinet over the counter-depth refrigerator, and associated side panels, were put in incorrectly do to a lack of communication and coordination. New panels had to be ordered and the work had to be re-done (not by RK) to make it counter depth. More lost time. While all this was frustrating, it was all fixed. My real issue is due to lost time, Walter had to move on to his next job, not completing the work we had agreed upon. After promises for the last 2+ months to come back to finish the job and collect the few hundred dollars left on the contract, I was told by Walter yesterday that I should go hire a different contractor and plumber to complete the work, as he is short staff, and his more financial lucrative job commitments have to be attended to. The remaining work I have is just one day's work, and the time cannot be found.

It went excellent. They were professional, reliable, and they did a fantastic job.

Flawless. Walter is a master of his craft and a pleasure to work with. I have used RK General Contracting for several complex and highly detailed projects in my pre-war NYC apartment, all of which greatly exceeded my expectations. Not only was he able to transform the usability of my home -- the work he did greatly improved my home's value, which sold very quickly as a result of walter's work.
