JLS ELECTRIC

The work that was performed was good. The three boring holes under the driveway were done very quickly. We had a separate contractor excavate the area in preparation for JLS's boring equipment. Three conduits were successfully placed under the driveway. JLS provided the hydraulic boring ram, an operator and helper and the person to locate the well line. For comparison, the excavator, who spent the full day here plus a prior visit to mark the driveway for cutting (approximately 7.5 hours plus 2 hours travel), charged $875.00 for labor and equipment operating time (approx. $92/HR). The Electrician who laid the conduit and pulled cable charged $65/HR for labor. JLS Electric has billed me $3,784.38 for approx. 7 man hours on site and 3 man hours of travel time (approx. $378/HR). JLS Electric's charges for this work are unreasonable. All requests for an estimate from JLS were answered the same way, "It depends on the conditions." The weather and soil conditions were excellent. We received the JLS Electric bill in March, which we responded to with a letter dated April 6, 2011, disputing the charges. The company did not respond to the letter, and they sent out another bill with a finance charge on it. My husband spoke with Mr. Jeff Shelters on May 19, 2011 and followed up that same day with a fax of the April 6, 2011 letter. Mr. Shelters told my husband that he would look into the matter and get back with my husband. We never heard back from Mr. Shelters. We wrote another letter which was sent certified return receipt dated June 2, 2011. The only response we received was another bill with an additional finance charge. We called the office. My husband spoke with Nicki requesting Mr. Shelters call us. We received no response. We are being grossly overcharged for services provided. To this date, JLS Electric has not responded to our communications. We are happy with the work performed, and we are willing to pay what is fair, customary and reasonable.
