The Deck Guy

From the start, discussing my wants and preferences, to completion, I had nothing but satisfaction. I highly recommend The Deck Guy if you are looking for a professional deck specialist and a reasonable cost. PJ and his crew did a fantastic job. The deck around the pool is built perfectly. PJ suggested adding a deeper color trim adjacent to the pool which turned out beautifully. I wanted a lot of stairs leading to both side of the backyard from the deck. PJ created nice designs for each side: one side with a mix of standard and wide steps (which makes the steps more safe and useful) and the other side with a long stretch of walkway into the yard. Every detail was done meticulously. I get a lot of compliments from the neighbors! He also built a cover for my oil tank with same materials, matching with the deck, steps, and walkway.

I called to make an appointment for an estimate, and PJ advised me to simply email him my preliminary measurements, as well as photos of my existing 2 decks. 24 hours later, I received an email from PJ, with estimates for demolition, carting away of debris, and construction of 2 new decks - he gave me prices for wood, and 3 different grades of composite. When I confirmed that I wanted to proceed with the job, PJ came to my home to take his own measurements, show me samples of the different material choices, and firm up his price (which was exactly the same as the original estimate). PJ and his crew did a fantastic job - from demolition, to new construction, to cleanup. The teamwork of this crew was wonderful to watch - each man had his own task to complete, yet seemed to always know, simply by instinct, when another team member needed assistance for a task. Our new decks were built solid - PJ is a master craftsman, and a perfectionist - my wife and I are absolutely thrilled with the final results.
