This contractor was hired to finish the work of a different contractor, who we were very, very unhappy with. We were very pleased with the work Michael Brown of Mission Home Improvements of Saratoga Springs did for us. Michael Brown was a pleasure to work with. He told us when he could do the work and came the day he said he would. He was punctual and professional and cleaned up neatly every day. His billing was accurate and the same as his estimate, the price was very reasonable and the quality of his work was excellent. The first job Michael did was to remove the drywall and insulation from a large cathedral ceiling. He did the work quickly and neatly. Michael Brown took the time to explain how he would complete the interior framing to get the windowseat addition ready for drywall. He was very helpful when it came to finding solutions to problems - he suggested we use the Arlington FB900-1 Fan and Fixture Mounting Boxes for New Construction for the light fixture in the windowseat, it was a product I had never heard of and it worked out really well. The drywall work was done quickly and very neatly. A drywall lift was used on the tall 20 foot plus cathedral ceiling. Michael took the time to do multiple coats of mud and sanding, and put up plastic sheeting to shield the rest of our house from dust. The final drywall surface was smooth and neat. I appreciate that he let us pick out the brand and shade of paint for the project, we chose a low VOC formula. The area was well prepped for paint with drop cloths, and Michael did a great job with the painting and did the painting all within one day. Michael took the time to clean up the area well when he was done. It looked like no one had been there when he left. I work from home, and Michael also asked me what type of music he could work to. (What a nice detail! We came up with a radio station we both liked...) After a long year of working with a contractor who we had a very hard time with, it was great to work with Michael and we are so happy with how the job turned out. We would hire Michael Brown of Mission Home Improvements of Saratoga Springs, again, and highly recommend his work to others.
