Overall, most things went ok... The work crews were prompt and polite. They brought enough men and the right equipment to accomplish my entire job in one day. However, one aspect was not done properly-- the work on my 3 stands of tall arborvitaes. They used a flimsy, kitchen string like you'd use to tie a bakery box to "secure" the arborvitae for winter.
I called owner John Myers to report this problem and he told me that I had to be mistaken, but he agreed to come by to see what I was talking about. He arrived when he said he would, and when he inspected the shrubs, he readily agreed that there was a problem, said he had no idea why his crew would use such flimsy material, said he doesn't stock that material and didn't even know how the crew obtained it. He promised to rectify it himself within a day. It took him a few days, but he did the job and promised to come back again at no further charge to secure them even further.
He said the crew didn't do the job originally because they didn't have the correct materials. OK, but then I was charged as if it had been done by the crew. It wasn't until I inspected their work, found it lacking, and called back a few times that the job was done correctly.
The cost for the job was exactly as estimated ($1,700 plus tax). I felt that the cost was pretty high, but on the other hand, it was a big job, it was done when I needed it done, most of it was it was done very well, and given my health issues, I could not have done this work myself.
I would say that this company can do a good job, even an excellent one, but suggest a very careful review of the estimate, and strongly urge you to inspect the work they say they have done before you pay for it.
