It started off very well since I have used him for many other jobs in my home for about 15 years. Thats why I was very surprised by what he did. He came and looked over the job and discussed and came up with a price of $5,000.00 for labor only. We were going to supply all the materials. He started the job in January and said he would be finished by the end of February. I said the end of March was more like it. We had an agreement in writing that I would give him a certain amount of money to start, again mid way and then upon completion. So I gave him money to start and about a week and a half he wanted more, he needed it. Since I've known him for so long I agreed. Now I have paid more than half and he is no where near the half way mark. Then he hands me a work sheet that reads flooring, windows and a few other things. So I said what is this and he replied and quot;additionsand quot; I said is there a number to these additions? since he did not show any amounts for anything. He said yes $3,000.00. I was shocked. I said your original work order reads flooring and his reply was and quot;oh thats for sub flooringand quot; I said but when you told me where to go for the best price of Pergo flooring and that you have in your house you didn't mean sub flooring did you? You gave me the measurements to go order the windows and never said a word. I said there was no way I would give him $3000.00 more bu we agreed on $1,000.00. Then he started coming to work only on Saturday and Sundays, a day here and there. He went to pick up some supplies that I could not (like sheet rock etc.) and asked me for the money to pick it up and would bring me the receipt as he did on some other things he needed. I gave him $1000.00 for a lot of stuff and he put it in pocket as payment. So now I had to meet him at Home Depot with my credit card every time he needed supplies. Besides all this his work had taken a turn for the worst. He broke things, he cut corners. He said he could do plumbing, well he could not. I took a lot of things that he agreed to do off his list and payed a plumber, electrician, and did not deduct it off of his bill. All and all I last saw him in June and he never did complete the job but yet again had the nerve to ask me for another $500.00. After he left I had to redo all his plumbing connections because they all leaked at a cost to me of $600.00. I wrote him a letter telling him of my out of pocket for his mistakes and thought if he was any kind of business man he would have refunded me that cost, but no never heard from him again. He took advantage of me and for that I had to let everyone know about Tommy Higgins.

Very smooth in all areas. The doors look great and it was much cheaper than expected.

All aspects of service were handled professionally and the work is high quality. We are very happy with the results and at a very reasonable price. Personalized service was an added bonus.
