I've used the EarthCare out of Vernon several times with great result. This last time was to deal with filled tanks due to the power outage. Called on Sunday, they were here Monday morning. A bit expensive but always provides service that keeps me from ever worrying about my septic system.

The initial contact was very pleasant when I called the company phone number. I was told that they would respond within 2-3 hours. They never called to say they were coming but showed up about 2.5 hours after the call (that was okay). I never really got an estimate for the job despite my asking. The guy was very vague with his answers and always offered a "better price" if I paid cash. After draining the tank, he offered chemical services and told me that it would be $60. I initially said ok, but then he tried to add on other services. Also, when I asked how much so far for the job done, the price kept changing. The main tank was $395 and the overflow was $110. Then, the overflow became $220. Add those together, and suddenly the price was over $700 (his math, not mine). When I challenged him on that, his price for the chemicals went up. That made me suspicious. Also, he explained that the chemicals were extra and "on the truck" and he could get me "a deal" if I paid cash for the chemicals. The price suddenly jumped to $180 for the chemicals, but now he'd give me the 3 jugs for $120. I passed. I told him I'd just have the tanks drained and leave it at that. My price was about $537 due to a credit I had from a prior job. I believe that when you arrive to do a job, you should explain what needs to be done, and explain the pricing, especially when asked. There shouldn't be any "special deals" that suddenly change when the situation changes. I understand the tax/no tax thing and paying cash and this sort of thing happens all the time. However, does this guy actually think that I believe that he had a few "extra" jugs in his truck that he could sell me for a special price?
