No show. Have not seen him since we gave him our check. It has been 5 weeks. He said he was going to start the job in 2 days.
Description of Work: Absolutely nothing. Gave estimate. Came & had us sign a contract. Took our check. Cashed it the next day. Have not seen him since.

Called contractor from phone book ad for an estimate on reroofing our home. Contractor, Terry Atkins, met me at our home several hours later. He measured the roof and provided choices on shingles to me. This was the end of June 2012. The story he presented to me was that as of July 1, the cost of shingles would increase by 50%. This being 3 days away, I took him at his word and signed a contract. $3200 down to cover materials, $1050 upon completion for labor. Never heard from him for several weeks. I called him and had to track him down through phone calls to his home/family until I reached his cell phone. He stated it was too hot to roof, so I let him know to start as soon as the heat broke. The following week he called me at work and stated he was having trouble getting the shingles delivered. 3 days later I returned home to find 2 pallets of roofing materials in my front yard. Another 3 days and he shows up at my house unloading ladders and equiptment, at this point he tells me he purchased my shingles from another source and they would cost more. For the next 2 days he installed about 1/3 of the shingles. My neighbor visited my work the following day saying the roofing supplier was searching for my roofer as he had no money to pay for his shingles I purchased under contract with him. Terry arrives later that day at my work and says he needs an additional $1200 or he would have to return the shingles to the supplier. I refused, quoting the contract. I returned home that day to find all the shingles had been removed from my yard, Terry and his equiptment were no where to be seen. The supplier called me and explained that Terry Atkins had returned the remaining shingles to him and collected the money for them. Even though my downpayment had covered the material cost, I was left with only 1/3 of the roof finished and a pile of trash in my front yard.
Description of Work: Was to provide a nail over roofing job on my residence. To install new shingles over my old ones on the roof of my home.
