We had purchased a home for one of my sons, and it was a fixer-upper. We did have a budget, so each service provider that we spoke with we informed of the strict budget. I asked for a final price from each service provider as well as informed them of the deadlines and discussed all of the things that needed to be taken care of before we signed any contract. We hired Aaron and he was supposed to be done with the jobs by November 13th, 2009. Aaron was given a specific list of things to do, and was told that he was not to add anything to the job list - even if my son had said something because we were the owners of the home. My son was watching the work of Aaron for us, so we wanted no confusion. My husband and I went to Florida while the home was being fixed. Aaron was to call either my husband or I if there were any problems. We had agreed to send Aaron checks throughout the entire project. The November 13th date came and went, and Aaron was not finished. The November 13th deadline was set in place because that is when our furniture was going to arrive. Sure enough, Aaron had knocked down walls without calling us and getting permission. My son called me and informed me that the job was still going on in December and told me that not one room in the house was finished. I called Aaron and I told him that he had one week to make the house liveable. He had already gone two thousand dollars over budget. My son stopped by the house every single day that week to see who was there and what was getting done. Aaron had told me that he would have a team of four guys working all day everyday. My son stopped two times a day between his two jobs, and he said that most of the time - the workers were gone by 2:30pm. My son noticed that Aaron's tools slowly started disappearing from the job. Aaron was also throwing out all of the discarded items into our backyard. Aaron called me at the end of the week and asked for an extension, I told him that that was not acceptable. I had my son remove the spare key that we had in a lockbox so that Aaron could no longer get into the house. Aaron then billed me for an additional $9,000. My husband and I went into the house This company not only did not finish the job, they made the home worse than how it was when we had bought it. They did not install the sheet rock correctly in our closets so we were unable to open the closets. They installed a veneer to hide the wall that he had messed up, and the veneer did not even line up. During the week extension - I learned that one of the days that my son was trying to speak with Aaron, he could not get ahold of him. My son asked the workers where Aaron was, and they informed him that he was in Cancun with his family on vacation. It took my son the next four months to finish the house for us, spending any extra time he could manage between his two jobs. I refused to pay Aaron for the $9,000 bill for the week extension and he threatened to sue me and place a lean on the house. We then began a counter suit. The lawsuit went on for about a month or two, and we got a call that Aaron had dropped the lawsuit. He packed up his family and moved to South Carolina because he had supposedly been offered a job there. I have recently learned that he has returned to the New York area and began working under the same name. The bottomline is that he did not honor the quote that he gave me, he did not meet the deadline that he agreed to, and he did not check up on his team of men. I would not recommend this company to anyone under any circumstance.
Description of Work: Aaron Peris had done some work for my son, and I knew there were some things that I did not like - and I warned him not to do this on the project with me - and I hired him to fix multiple things around our new home.
