Van Epps Construction

The job was started some time in late September or early October 2011 after I had returned home for the season.During the time Van Epps was working on the house we spoke by phone several times, he told me he had encountered some rotten wood around some of the windows and some of the wiring had been chewed and needed to be replaced.  He said he had taken pictures with his digital camera and would send me a memory stick with the pictures of the damage.  He told me how much the additional material would cost, and I arranger a funds transfer to his account.  Ispoke with him in late October or early nNovember and he told me the weather had gotten cold and he was unable to cut and replace the vinyl siding he had removed to replace the windows.During a period of nice weather in early Janurauy 2012 I drove the 300 miles up to the house to check on the work.  To my shock and horror I found he had removed all the paneling from the two rooms where the windows had been replaced or just sheetrocked over it.  The carpet had been pulled up and the walls had only a basic coat spackel on the joints and screws.  The heat was set on 70 degrees.  All the furnishings and other items had been crammed into the kitchen, and or placed on the two beds in the house making it impossable to stay in the house. I drove the 5 hours back home after taking some photos of the house.I called Van Epps the next day and He told me he was working in North Carolina as it was to cold to work at home.  I ask why he had left the house at 70 degres if he wasnot even in the state.  He said the spackel had to be kepa warm so it didnot crack as it dried.  When I tried to call on several occasions he did not awnser his phone.  In April I booked a hotel and went to check on the house, no work had been done since I was there in Janurary.  I have had to hire someone else to do the job.  I have spoken to an Attourny and I will be pursing legal action.
