Costco - Commack

The parking lot is a bit nuts on the weekends, much better off coming here on a weekday before noon. The store is in a small complex that is attached to a wonderful Shop-Rite supermarket as well as a Target, Home Goods and a Guitar Center which I have never gone into. I use Costco for bulk item groceries, produce, fresh fish, baked goods, over-the-counter medications/vitamins, optical services and occassionally clothing. The produce is always fresh and it is so well priced that even if you don't finish what you bought you are usually still saving money. We really enjoy the strawberries, blueberries and raspberries when they are in season!! Spinach, celery, mushrooms, peppers, romaine lettuce are a few of my regular purchases. Stored properly they really keep well. They just started carrying k-cups in a dark roast which was a great thing for my family. Cheapest price per pod I have found anywhere. The fresh salmon, both farm raised and wild, isn't really cheaper than the supermarket, but its good quality and its nice to be able to get a whole large side like they sell. The samples . . . yes, they are delicious and plentiful! Come hungry you can have your lunch by the time you leave! The samplers are really great too. They are a familiar group as we are regulars in the store! The meat department looks wonderful, but I am kosher so I cannot buy there. Note to Costco: Please start carrying kosher meat and poultry in this location! Best prices on vitamins, supplements and OTC remedies I have found. All of Costco's staff are pleasant and helpful from the stock people to the cashiers to the managers. In the optical department, where we purchase all of our eyeglasses and contact lenses for the family, Lainie and Sue are wonderful to work with. Our prescriptions are always filled correctly nd on the rare occassion when there was an issue, they were taken back and recut with no problem. I do wish they would reinstate the quick-delivery to the home service rather than have it go to the store.

It was a good experience. I like that the replacement can be versatile. They are good.
