Colonie Appliance was excellent in scheduling an appointment and actually called back to see if they could do it sooner due to a cancellation. The appointment was given for a two hour window and the representative showed up right at the start of the window.
The repairman was professional and explained all aspects of the job. He showed us the defective part and was thoroughly familiar with the design problem. He was very pleasant to deal with. He did a complete job ensuring that the ice was completely removed prior to starting the actual repair. He also suggested that the icemaker not be reinstalled as we weren't using it and leaving it out would increase storage space. He showed us how to easily reinstall it if we had a need to and showed us how to remove a front cover for easier cleaning under the refrigerator.
The price seemed reasonable for a service call although we felt Whirlpool could have contributed more to the cost as it is definitely a design issue and the refrigerator was one month beyond their covered period. This has nothing to do with Colonie Appliance and their service was excellent.
