ADT has the worst customer service Ive experienced.  There have been many difficulties with the alarm system.  Most recently I was away and called at 3am by a call center employee who said the fire alarm warning had gone off.  The company dispatched the fire department and I managed to get a neighbor there to open house before the fire department broke in.  There was no fire, but an alarm malfunction.  I continued to get false alarm phone calls through the night.  I tried to schedule service to check/repair the system.  They put me through agony of various schedulers before they agreed to get someone there 2 days later. Then the tech said the entire system had shorted out and he could not replace.   They rescheduled replacement 2 weeks later.  Then the morning the system was to be replaced, they called me to say the technician could not come.  They rescheduled again for a week later.  Please note that I am paying for "ADT Gold" status, which seems to be worth absolutely nothing but a separate call center.  Finally I have been treated rudely by call center employees on multiple occasions.  No one at this company has apologized or taken responsibility. They are very effective marketers, but thats their only strength.  They even managed to become sole provider recommended by my insurer, PURE.  AVOID ADT.

We use ADT Albany. They have minimal false alarms. It however takes a few days for somebody to come out when you get a false alarm.

It went very well. The sales person was prompt and clear about what they could do. Once we got one of the passwords to enter the system from Protect America, ADT was able to take over the monitoring using the equipment already present. We went this route because we wanted to be done with Protect America before the end of the month. From the sales person we learned what we could do with an ADT system using Honeywell equipment as opposed to GE systems that another company provided. It cost more money, but we found Brice Rudat, our sales person, wonderfully easy to work with. He also will be our contact for ADT if we run into problems. The second installation also went well. The same technician came who did the first installation. He was prompt, knowledgeable and neat. We are very pleased to be dealing with a person we actually contact and see. We are pleased that we don't have to call in every month, like Protect America, to test our system. We are pleased with the key fob to lock up our house without the using a hand held device. The only problem that we are having is the billing confusion that has come with the installation of two different systems. We have had good luck speaking with the billing department. We also are working with Brice to figure out what's going on. We are not anticipating a problem. We haven't had the system that long so we can't speak to its accuracy, but all things look good.

The technician came to my house and corrected the issue I was having, enabling the system to perform again. He was professional.

The alarm has burglary alarm, with fire, smoke and water alarms.  They have a good co-ordination with my insurance company and I get a discount.  They installed everything well and it works fine.

ADT is popular in this area. They are a large company that has been around. You are able to know you are signing up with a secure company when you go with them. They seem to be pretty capable of pleasing people who use their services and they're nationally based which is a plus too.

I THOUGHT THAT THEY DID A GOOD JOB. THEY WERE COMPARABLE TO THE OTHER NEAREST COMPETITOR IN THE AREA, WHICH IS TIME WARNER. THEY MADE IT EASY. I JUST HAD TO CALL THEM UP AND THEY DID THE REST.

THEY DID EVERYTHING FINE. WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH IT. WE ACTUALLY HAVE ONE UP IN OUR BEDROOM NOW. IT'S NICE BECAUSE, WE DON'T HAVE TO GO DOWNSTAIRS ANYMORE. WE REALLY APPRECIATED THAT.

I'M FINE WITH THE INSTALLATION OF THE ACTUAL SYSTEM, BUT I THINK THAT THE MONTHLY COST IS TOO MUCH. I THINK THAT CLOSE TO $40 A MONTH FOR THE MONITORING IS TOO MUCH. EVERYTHING ELSE IS POSITIVE.
