Marc came to my home to repair a leaky seal around a pipe in the foundation. He was unable to fix the 'faulty' pipe and told me it would need to be dug up and replaced for a cost of a little less than $2000 including parts. After his 'repair' it still leaked, and he continually tried using the same failed methods to plug the leak in the foundation. If he had properly sealed the penetration from the outside, water would not have leaked in. He broke my water meter, which should never have been touched, according to the town, and improperly reconnected the pipe, which could now burst at any time without warning. I got a quote from another plumber, who told me the job should have cost under $400. The pipe he replaced was not faulty, and did not need replacing after all! Not only that, but he GROSSLY overcharged me for parts, and that Marc actually owes me all of the left over copper pipe which he didn't use for the job which I paid for! Marc also did not do the work up to code, and cheaped out on parts. I mentioned my experience to my neighbor, who also had the misfortune of having Marc perform service- he botched a sump pump install to the point where the home owner needed to call the pump company for assistance and was told his pump was installed completely wrong. I mentioned my experience to a friend who used to work for a contractor supply company. As soon as I said the name Marc DeLorenzo, he sighed, and told me that tons of his customers used to call up looking for another plumber after he botched their jobs. Marc refused to issue me a refund, and unfortunately, I will have to take him to court. I cannot stress enough, please DO NOT hire this man!
Description of Work: Marc was called to repair a leaking seal around the water main coming into our basement. He chipped away the mineral deposits, and told me the pipe needed to be replaced, so he dug a hole down to the water main, replaced a section of pipe, and attempted to reseal the hole.
