A Plus Home Inspection

THE ABSOLUTE BEST! EXCEPTIONAL, HONEST, PROFESSIONAL: Can't image that ANYONE else would thoroughly inspect, explain, provide detailed documentation, and be more honest and have more pride in his work than Adam. I feel sorry for people who buy their homes w/o inspections or use an inspector like the ones that I've used in the past. I had no idea that this is how it should be done... The house that I ended up purchasing was inspected by Adam for the SELLER before he put it on the market. I was BLOWN AWAY by the extensive amount of detail, pictures, and the summary + explanation of issues to address immediately, or in the near future, that was in Adam's report. It was clearly evident that Adam had gone through the house with a "fine-toothed comb" and disclosed even minor issues. I've purchased a few homes before, and received a checklist-type report a few pages long, no pics, no recommendations or explanations, once even after an inspector went through an entire 4,000sqft house in only an hour with my husband. Worthless. After I purchased the house, Adam actually went through the entire report with me (since it was done pre-sale for the seller), while going through the house and explaining everything clearly and thoroughly. I cannot stress enough how INCREDIBLY helpful this was, and was obviously above and beyond what he had to do. NO COMPARISON!!

My wife and I are in the process of buying a home. This is our second home inspection that we've had done. The first was by someone else. Adam was significantly better. And we will use him for all future inspections that we have done. He did a very thorough inspection, from outside to inside top to bottom. He found issues with the house that I would have never noticed (and I'm a fairly detail oriented person). He had me on my hands and knees to make sure I saw everything he saw, and didn't just take his word for it. He even put up with having my two young kids run around the house while he did his work (we couldn't find a sitter on such short notice). He spent about five hours altogether on this inspection. Much longer that I would have expected him to.
I highly recommend him. And I really can't say enough nice things about him. He is funny and makes what could be a quite boring or depressing process into something that is actually fun. Because of his inspection we ended up not purchasing this house, and I didn't walk away sad about it. I walked away glad that I knew what I knew, and that I had learned about more things to look for next time.

Adam is amazing!!! He is a true professional who loves his work- and it shows!! He performed a home inspection for us and was incredibly thorough. He took the time with every single item on his checklist to not only inspect every inch of the home, but explain to myself and my husband what he was finding. He went above and beyond to make sure that we understood absolutely every detail of what he was observing, and he made very helpful suggestions along the way with affordable solutions when problems were found. On a personal note, he is professional, kind, courteous, self-depricating, and funny! We had a lot of laughs along the way and it certainly didn't feel boring ever! After the inspection was over, within 24 hours he sent us an incredibly detailed document with photos and descriptions of every single thing he observed in the house. The document even had helpful tips on what you should do when first moving into a home and things to think about each month to keep up on home maintenance. I really can't say enough good things about Adam. I will recommend him to absolutely everyone I know and if we ever need another home inspection again, I would never use anyone else!!

It took about 5 hours for a 4,008 sq ft home with a barn and in-ground pool (he did not inspect the pool though). His report was 50 pages long and very clear and concise. He uses different colors for the severity of need which is helpful when trying to figure out what we wanted to fix and what the sellers should fix. Adam is also very funny and we appreciated his humor throughout the home inspection. He also seemed to talk himself down in price because I forgot about the partial crawlspace in the basement. I would definitely recommend him.

This is our second home we purchased and needed the inspection to uncover any possible major issues. Rather than using the first inspector we used a few years ago, I decided to check Angies List and use on of the highest rated inspectors. I'm sure glad we did! Adam was extremely thorough and his final report was even more detailed. It was night and day difference compared to the first inspector we ever used and will always recommend A+ home inspections to friends and family.
If you were like me, and unsure who to use for a home inspection.....read all the reviews here and use one of the highest rated guys. You won't be sorry. In my opinion, he was worth more than the $350 I paid.

Adam spent 5 hours in the home going going over every inch of the home in great depth explaining everything as he went along. The report he produced for us was detailed and complete. We highly recommend Adam.

Adam is meticulous, kind, and professional.  He took me over each part of the process and showed me photos of areas that I could not see; he identified serious problems that the original inspector had missed.  It's hard to find someone who will cheerfully spend hours in your crawlspace, and then call you to make sure you have a plan/are doing ok after delivering bad news.  I recommend without hesitation.

Everything went very well!

Very Thorough and professional, from top to bottom. Every area and system was scrupulously looked over and a full detailed report was provided in a timely manner.

Adam showed up at both inspections early to examine the exterior, and was ready when we met with him to inspect and review the interior. He was very thorough throughout the process, pointing out and explaining what he observed and how it can affect home repairs, immediately and in the future. He was able to give us dates for equipment such as furnace, hot water heater, etc... so that we know what to expect, when we can expect to replace these items, and their current condition. He was very knowledgeable about plumbing, electrical, building standards, and offered advice on what was easily doable DIY, and what we would probably want to call in the pros for. The report that we received was very detailed, and can be used as a and quot;roadmapand quot; to plan expenses over the next several years, easily worth the price of the inspection. I strongly recommend his service. I had contacted other local agencies, some of which were much more expensive, and some much less, but I feel that Adam has a good niche with quality service and recommendations at a reasonable price.

Adam was extremely thorough in his home inspection, which helped us feel confident that nothing was being overlooked. He arrived on time and carefully reviewed the exterior of the home on his own before sharing his report with us, showing pictures for areas that we could not see ourselves (i.e., on the roof). He then went through every room in the house with us, pointing out issues, concerns, and things to pay attention to along the way. He provided a very detailed report by email the next day that included issues to be addressed immediately and those to budget for future repairs. He included pictures to highlight areas of concern. It was time and money well spent.

Items of interest were described as they were seen, then related to other issues. Pictures were taken and explained during inspection. It all came together and into perspective when the report was recieved the next day.

We found Adam from the positive reviews on Angie's list, and I'm very glad we did! He was very professional and friendly. He outlined some concerns in his 40 page report for us that helped us bring down the price of the home. He also gave some maintance advice that we are using now that we have moved into the home, and is willing to follow up with us with any questions we have. The pictures and wording in the report are very easy to understand and was very detailed in his inspection. I have been recommending him to all my friends who are purchasing homes. He's wonderful!

I used Adam for our home inspection based on all the positive reviews on Angies list. We had our first inspection on a house we were buying in February with Adam. Based on the home inspection and all the significant issues with the house we decided to back out of the house. We were under the assumption that everything was perfect when we purchased the house but after the inspection we discovered problems that were too big for the house to be worth our investment. Adam showed me everything he was doing and pointed out things to look for so we would have a better idea of what to look for in the next house we came across. We found another house a few weeks later and again used Adam to inspect the house. This house had some minor issues but nothing to stop us from purchasing this home. Adam provided a 40 plus page report of everything he came across. Thanks to Adam we know what we are getting into with this house, and know what will be needed in the future as far as deferred costs go. I feel confident buying this home, and strongly encourage anyone buying a home to use Adam as their home inspector. He is very thorough, knowledgable, and very informative when showing you all of the issues with a home.

Adam was fantastic. We went with him after reading all of the reviews on Angie's list and he was exactly how people portrayed him. He was punctual, eager to work, and extremely thorough. He had a great personality to go along with his expertise and professionalism. Adam truly seems to advocate for the home buyer, with their concerns and interest in mind. He understands that for a home buys (especially first-time) this can be a scarey process. He made the inspection interesting, fun and informative. We did decide to go ahead and purchase the home, with his recommendations highly considered. We truly walked away feeling like we knew what we needed to get done, what we needed to ask the seller to fix prior to closing and a better sense of what to expect. Adam followed up a day later with an electronic version of the home inspection, complete with pictures and suggestions on how to fix/eliminate problems. We know we will reference this 43 page report specific to our future home. We walked away feeling like Adam was looking out for us and now we feel confident in our purchase. He even pointed out so many things for us that it made our realtor nervous that we wouldn't want the home, but made our own decision that this is something we wanted and could handle. Adam mentioned a few times that his goal was to prepare us so that once we own the home, the only surprises that come up are minor. We would highly recommend him.

We entered into a purchase contract for a home that we really liked. My realtor sent a list of and quot;suggestedand quot; home inspectors. I did my own research and found Adam Slimack. We certainly made the best move going with him. He returned my call immediately, and lined us up within 2 days to get the home inspection done. He met us there at about 0800, and my husband stayed with him through the entire inspection, which took nearly 5 hours! He went from top to bottom, inside and out, detailing everything, and taking pictures. He took the information back and compiled it to produce a 42 page report full of details about the home. He nailed every MAJOR problem with the house, and advised us that it would have cost tens of thousands to fix. Supposedly these major defects (cracked foundation, walls soft from water penetration/leaking, mold in the attic) weren't known by the homeowner and the realtor, but we're not so sure we believe that now. There were boxes conveniently stacked in front of some of the foundation issues so that if Adam had just and quot;lookedand quot; and not done as good of an inspection that he did, would have probably been overlooked. Needless to say he saved us so much money. We would have been in a complete mess if it weren't for him. We were able to back out of the contract immediately. I/We highly recommend him, and will use him to inspect the next home we choose to purchase. Now, I initially doubted the notion that there was some sort of and quot;cluband quot; between home inspectors and realtors. But our realtor could not find good words to say about Adam, and that's because he wasn't part of their and quot;cluband quot;. Other realtors in the area talk about how fast they get the report back (same day), but that's mostly because they just want to get on to the next paying job. Adam inspected the home, and the next day we had our report, detailed with many many pictures mingled in the 42 pages showing just what he was talking about in the report. Don't be swayed by the fancy binders some provide, this is the real deal! He is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by these buyers, even though he might not be recommended by realtors. He makes their job more difficult because he gives the buyers an honest opinion of the property instead of a sugar-coated one just to sell the property.

It was my 2nd home inspection with Adam during the same summer. Thanks to Adam, I cancelled the contract on the 1st home, after he pointed out all the big problems of the house. It would have required lots of repairs that i did not see at first sight. My 1st home inspection was a detailed course on home structure, so I became more knowledgeable in what to look for when visiting other homes for sale. My 2nd home inspection was as thorough, and it ended up with the purchase of the home: the report was very detailed with photos of potential problems. In both inspections, Adam arrived 1 hour before me, to inspect the roof and the outside of the house. Adam was very friendly and professional: you can tell he knows what he's doing! I would highly recommend him.

He was there an hour before me. When I arrived Adam was on the roof. After inspection of the outside we went inside and spent around 4 hours on the inspection altogether. Adam knows what he's doing and he was thorough. I would definitely used him in the future again. It was a big difference from the inspector I had 6 years ago.
